00:09Welcome to MojoPlays, and today we're taking a look at 10 Nintendo Switch 2 games that
00:15you can buy without the need of a game keycard.
00:28Before we begin, we publish new videos all week long, so be sure to subscribe to MojoPlays
00:33and ring the bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:37Mario Kart World
00:48Say what you will about the price, I'm still playing it, but at least you can say that
00:52all of Mario Kart World is on the cartridge. Granted, you likely won't have all the post-launch updates
00:58and the new cups on it, unless there's a massive reprint, but even so, Mario Kart World
01:03is a fairly massive game for a Mario Kart game.
01:18The entire world is loaded in at once with a vast number of NPCs walking around, driving
01:24around, even travelling to other locations. The technical performance just never seems
01:28to tank even in handheld mode, and to think that all of this is stored onto one tiny red cartridge.
01:46Donkey Kong Bonanza
01:56Unlike Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bonanza does suffer from some performance issues, although
02:02the issues arise only when you're completely demolishing chunks of the environment. Whether
02:08you're causing massive explosions, building bridges, bashing through several layers of rock,
02:13or what have you, Bonanza will dip in framerates pretty regularly.
02:27Despite this, we're glad that the entire game is on a cartridge, and even happier that we can
02:32relish in the destruction without our Switch 2s catching fire. The only thing that isn't on the
02:37cartridge is the Donkey Kong Island expansion, which I don't care about personally.
02:52Demon X Machina
02:54Titanic Scion
03:03As we've seen from many, many other third party game companies, there are a plethora of
03:08action games, shooters, and the like that are on game key cards, for whatever reason. It was actually
03:15appalling seeing how many companies are going this route instead of, you know, putting games on the cartridge.
03:33Thankfully, Demon X Machina Titanic Scion is among the few where you get the entire experience on the cartridge. Even
03:41better, there is no base game download requirement. You pop it in, and you boot it up whenever you're ready,
03:47as every game should be.
03:50Demon X Machina
04:03Splatoon Raiders
04:13If you were unsure about the future of Splatoon being on cartridges, you have nothing to worry about here. The
04:19first Switch 2 game in the franchise comes completely installed on the cartridge, so you can pop it in, and
04:25get going on your treasure hunting adventure.
04:34You won't even have to worry about a download requirement. But, if you buy the game, and you plan to
04:39do co-op with friends or other players, you will have to download whatever patches and updates are currently available.
04:45That is to be expected though when you're playing online modes anyways.
04:59Orbitals
05:14Orbitals
05:15Orbitals entered the conversation thanks to publisher Kepler Interactive. All of Orbitals will be available on the cartridge without any
05:23downloads needed to enjoy this co-op sci-fi adventure.
05:35Obviously, this was somewhat done as a marketing ploy, but given the all digital future companies like Sony and Microsoft
05:41are pushing for, it was still nice to know about. And now, Orbitals can be enjoyed between friends and family
05:47a lot more easily.
05:59Star Fox
06:01We're entering Cornaria City now! Androx sure has trashed the place!
06:08Not that it is technically demanding with its heavily scripted format, but seeing Star Fox run off of a tiny
06:15Switch 2 cartridge still has us entranced.
06:18Not only does the game run at a crisp, smooth 60 frames per second, the cutscenes all boast an incredible
06:25level of detail in texture work and animations.
06:29Nice job Star Fox! Status report!
06:32Did you ever think you'd get this close to Solar?
06:35If that was the trial by fire, I'd say we passed it!
06:39You worry about your own heart!
06:40And yes, you can enjoy all of it on your little cartridges with no sacrifice in quality.
06:46Not that it is all that surprising. Like we said, this isn't too demanding of a game.
06:51But it is nice to know that the Ar-Wings are ready to deploy at a moment's notice.
07:06Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment
07:21Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment
07:25This is a game-like, more so than Donkey Kong Bonanza can.
07:28Like, it's to the point where the performance will tank if you're taking on too many enemies or doing too
07:33many kick-ass things.
07:43So you would think Nintendo and Koei Tecmo would play this safe and would use this game as a launch
07:48pad for the whole game key card nonsense.
07:51On the contrary, the entire game runs right off of the cartridge.
07:55So you can experience all of the madness, all of the mayhem, whenever you want.
08:01Whenever you decide to put that cartridge into your Switch 2.
08:05Honestly, we would have expected it to be a little too much for such a miniscule chip.
08:23Lies of P
08:37Lies of P
08:40Lies of P would definitely be on a game key card.
08:42Not because of the storage size, though.
08:44Lies of P has only hit a high of 50GB for PC, and less than that for console.
08:55There is much more happening in this game technically compared to the games before.
08:59On top of that, the Switch 2 version of Lies of P comes with both the base game and the
09:06standalone expansion, Overture.
09:08That's a lot of game getting crammed onto a tiny chip.
09:12And, on top of that, you get to play it at 60 frames per second.
09:16Whatever sacrifices were made here, it was worth getting all of this into a physical form that's ready to play
09:22whenever.
09:23Mad props to Neowiz.
09:39Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
09:51Even though they've made questionable decisions over the past several years, one thing Bethesda Softworks and its studios have succeeded
09:58in is getting many of its games loaded onto Switch 2 cartridges.
10:01Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered are both on Switch 2 cartridges, but Indiana Jones and the
10:09Great Circle is the bigger achievement here.
10:13Watch me.
10:15This is among Bethesda's most recent releases, and surprisingly, it looks pretty damn good on Switch 2.
10:23Does it have all of the finer details that you can see on PS5 and PC?
10:28Not every shadow and skin pore know, but there is still plenty of detail squeezed into the character models, facial
10:35animations, and environments.
10:36So if you want to play the game on the go, this is not a bad option by any means.
10:43Hey!
10:44New dents for my collection!
10:49If you love games, be sure to check out WatchMojo's new game, Terrible Influence.
10:54Just launched for purchase at TerribleInfluence.com.
10:57Terrible Influence is a satirical board game about the dark side of fame from the writer of the most popular
11:02girls in school and us, WatchMojo.
11:04Boom!
11:05I can make an apology video.
11:07Oh, you so would!
11:08Click on the link in the description to check out the game and be the first to play Terrible Influence.
11:13And lastly, Cyberpunk 2077.
11:26On every other platform, Cyberpunk 2077 takes up well over 100 gigabytes of storage space, which can be a very
11:35big ask for some players.
11:37But through some kind of arcane magic, Nintendo and CD Projekt somehow manage to squeeze all of Cyberpunk 2077 onto
11:47a single cartridge.
11:56Of course, this comes at a cost.
11:58There is no performance mode as the game runs at a capped frame rate by default.
12:03However, as we noticed when this version of the game launched in 2025, it looks and runs almost as good
12:10as the PS5 version does when that version is running in fidelity mode.
12:15Well worth every penny if you ask me.
12:26Do you have any of these games yet?
12:32Let us know down in the comments and don't forget to subscribe to Mojo Plays.
12:37Go now, let's see your plan.
12:38All right.
12:38Yeah, let's go.
12:39Failure is fascinated by the video at half.
12:39I'll see you next time.
12:39As you can see, we'll be reckoned with the game.
12:40And the game.
