00:16The MCU's sixth phase is nearing its conclusion along with the multiverse saga.
00:21Brand New Day could be seen as a penultimate chapter before the two-part finale,
00:25Avengers Doomsday, which releases in December 2026, and Avengers Secret Wars, which is slated to hit theaters the following year.
00:33You're far stronger than all of us put together.
00:37While Brand New Day mostly keeps the focus on Peter Parker's personal journey,
00:41it also drops multiple signs of what we're expected to see in Doomsday and beyond.
00:46Let's break down the major characters, locations, and concepts that will surely carry over from Brand New Day to Doomsday.
00:52We're going to need a miracle.
00:56Yelena Belova as a team leader.
00:58Throughout his latest film, Peter Parker seeks help from several familiar faces,
01:02including Frank Castle's Punisher and Bruce Banner.
01:05You're not going to get away with this.
01:07But he might.
01:10With the latter's Hulk inhibitor device now broken,
01:13chances are we're going to be seeing more of the big green guy,
01:16although he's supposedly not in Doomsday.
01:19One character who's guaranteed to have a significant role is Yelena Belova,
01:23who Peter tracks down for information.
01:25It's fitting that Peter would ask Yelena for help, as both have struggled with mental health.
01:29Yelena appears to be in a much better place since Thunderbolts,
01:32thanks in part to her soothing office.
01:35If he puts together a team, and then the team is called the Avengers,
01:40then who are the real Avengers?
01:41While her fellow new Avengers don't pop up,
01:44Brand New Day cements Yelena as a leader that other heroes can turn to.
01:48Once a lone wolf in search of a reason to keep going,
01:51Yelena has embraced her newfound figurehead role,
01:53just as her sister led the Avengers for a period.
01:56I'm still trying to be better.

02:08Although she gives him intel,
02:10Yelena explains to Peter that the case he's working on is small potatoes
02:14compared to what the new Avengers deal with.
02:16Yelena doesn't get into specifics,
02:18but an example of a big potatoes problem
02:20would likely be the space crisis mentioned in Thunderbolts.

02:32Presumably, Brand New Day occurs before that post-credits scene
02:36in which the Fantastic Four ship arrives.

02:49Brand New Day suggests that Yelena won't just be an ensemble player,
02:52but rather somebody who takes charge.

03:05It's kind of debatable when mutants made their official debut in the MCU.
03:10I believe you've already met Dr. Jean Grey.
03:14You're in my school for the gifted.
03:15For mutants.
03:17You'll be safe here from Magneto.
03:18You could go back to Wanda and Pietro Maximoff,
03:21although they weren't established as mutants up front.
03:23Charles Xavier, Deadpool, Wolverine, and Beast have all appeared,
03:28but they were from different realities.
03:30Where are we?
03:31What happened?
03:33We were hoping you could tell us.
03:35Within Earth-616, Kamala Khan and Namor have been singled out as mutants.
03:40Yet Sadie Sink's debut as Jean Grey in Brand New Day feels like a real game-changer.
03:44It appears we're faced with a threat we can't control.
03:47One we can't even see.
03:48It implies that some of the characters from Fox's X-Men universe have variants in Earth-616.
03:54It's also telling that for all of the original X-Men actors returning in Doomsday,
03:58Vomka Janssen reportedly isn't reprising her role as Jean Grey.
04:02Brand New Day and Doomsday could bridge the old and the new.
04:07We're going to need a miracle.
04:09For at least a few original X-Men cast members, namely those getting up there in age,
04:14Doomsday and possibly Secret Wars seem like a last hurrah.
04:18Presume nothing except this.
04:20If actors like Ryan Reynolds are in it for the long haul, though, maybe some others will be too.
04:25Fox killed him.
04:26Disney brought him back.
04:27They're gonna make him do this till he's 90.
04:28Earth-616's Jean is alone, not having any X-Men to provide backup.
04:34With Jean driving into the unknown at the film's conclusion, she may search for others like her.
04:38What remains to be seen is if there are versions of characters like Professor X already in Earth-616.
04:44We don't even know if there's a school for gifted youngsters.
04:47With worlds colliding in Doomsday, maybe Xavier's school will come to Earth-616.
04:52Or it'll give somebody like Jean the idea to start a similar school in her own universe.
04:56Everything that they sacrifice will be for nothing, if we do not stand together.
05:01In any case, Sink's presence indicates that more characters will be recast as the X-Men are further integrated into
05:08the MCU.
05:09Something we may not be able to deter.
05:12We don't see Marvel doing a love triangle between Sink's Jean, James Marsden's Cyclops, and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine,
05:18what with the obvious age difference.
05:20Whoa. Easy, pal.
05:26Look, some things never change.
05:30Good to see you, Scott.
05:33Uh-huh.
05:35As such, Brand New Day might be setting up the X-Men universe, Earth-1005, to be destroyed in Doomsday.
05:42Perhaps Earth-616 and Earth-1005 will merge into one,
05:46but the most likely scenario could see several X-Men killed off in Doomsday and Secret Wars.
05:52This would allow a new class of actors to assume these iconic roles,
05:55with Sink's Jean taking the first step in Brand New Day.

06:02you will return as brothers and sisters.
06:06Here we were, thinking that Ned's Spidey tracker was just a throwaway gag.
06:10The Spidey tracker app says that Spider-Man is in the direct vicinity.
06:15Oh yeah? No way, that's crazy.
06:16In the post-credits scene for Brand New Day, though,
06:19Ned's device finds that Spider-Man isn't in New York.
06:22In fact, he's nowhere to be found on Earth.
06:24The tracker traces Spider-Man to somewhere in space,
06:27signifying that he's been taken to Battle World.
06:30Please, you just have to trust me. Come on.
06:31While Battle World has gone through a few variations in the comics,
06:35it most notably tied into the 2015 Secret Wars arc,
06:39in which Dr. Doom assembled pieces from different realities
06:42to form a new planet as the multiverse collapsed.
06:45Before this day is done,
06:48we shall be faced with an unthinkable decision.
06:52We're willing to wager that Doomsday will mainly focus on the incursions of different universes,
06:57climaxing with the creation of Battle World,
06:59which will serve as the main backdrop of Secret Wars.
07:02Brand New Day notes that Spider-Man will return,
07:05although it doesn't specify when exactly.
07:08As of writing, it hasn't been confirmed if Tom Holland will appear in Doomsday.
07:12Given how stacked the Doomsday cast already is,
07:14there just might not be enough room for him.
07:16I don't have anywhere else to go.
07:18Holland's schedule is also busy,
07:20somehow managing to squeeze this and the Odyssey into one year.
07:24What would he do if he came back here and find all these suitors in his house?
07:27Considering where Brand New Day leaves us, though,
07:29we have a hard time believing that Holland won't at least make a cameo in Doomsday.
07:33Either way, we think he'll have a larger role in Secret Wars,
07:36now that we know Spider-Man is bound for Battle World.
07:39Then again, if Ned's device can track one version of Spider-Man,
07:42perhaps it can be used to trace others.
07:45If DNA is mutating, it would be enormously dangerous.
07:49While the app shows Spider-Man on another planet,
07:51maybe there's another web-slinger on Battle World with him.
07:55Well, sorry about that.
07:57Using his portal powers in No Way Home,
07:59Ned found Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's Peter Parkers
08:02when they got sent to Earth-616.
08:04Ned's Spider-Man tracker could operate the same way.
08:07If Doom is taking pieces from other realities to make Battle World,
08:10Maguire and or Garfield could get pulled into another multiversal conflict.
08:15Okay, Peter 1, Peter 2, Peter 3!
08:18Again, this seems more like something they would save for Secret Wars,
08:22but if they want to end Doomsday on a high note,
08:24reuniting the Spider-Man trio for a post-credits scene
08:27would ensure we'd show up for the next film.
08:29Whatever awaits, we're looking at a brand new Doomsday.
