मराठा आंदोलक मनोज जरांगे पाटील यांनी विद्यार्थ्यांच्या आंदोलनावर सरकारच्या भूमिकेवर टीका केली. लोकशाही मार्गाने आंदोलन करणाऱ्या विद्यार्थ्यांचे म्हणणे सरकारने ऐकावे, दडपशाहीचा मार्ग स्वीकारू नये आणि लाठीचार्ज व वॉटर कॅननचा वापर टाळावा, अशी त्यांनी मागणी केली.

यावेळी त्यांनी शिक्षणमंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान यांच्या राजीनाम्याची मागणी करत विद्यार्थ्यांच्या प्रश्नांवर तातडीने तोडगा काढण्याचे आवाहन केले. सोनम वांगचुक यांच्या आंदोलनाला पाठिंबा दर्शवत सरकारने संवादातून मार्ग काढावा, अन्यथा आंदोलन आणखी तीव्र होऊ शकते, असा इशाराही त्यांनी दिला.
