00:27one month uh so i'm still getting situated here but i was able to attend uh some otas and minicamps
00:34so i'm looking forward to training camp starting at the end of the month yeah man it's about to get
00:39busy busy busy oh yeah you're gonna find out all the crazies i'm most concerned about the heat like
00:45if we get in this type of weather two weeks from now man i i don't know how i'm gonna

00:50uh it's gonna get ready for it yeah that's what it's gonna be i'm from milwaukee so i'm i'm more
00:56i'm more used to the cold than the heat well guess what you're gonna get some of that but it's

01:02gonna be as cold as milwaukee but the heat you're about to go completely the other direction

01:13be hot dude trust me i've done a number of these hell beam it's played in them um dude you

01:20piece of content that i thought was just really clever and and that's why i wanted to reach out
01:23and get you on the show um obviously this quarterback show is going on on netflix and you wrote five
01:30things we learned about jayden daniels from the netflix quarterback show um i mean i guess there could
01:37be some spoilers here if somebody hasn't watched it but it's also about last season so you already
01:41know what happened so to help spoiler alert you want to go go ahead and explain us uh what you
01:46thought you learned from the series yeah yeah i would say the the the two main takeaways i took
01:53from it uh one being you know jayden he even admits this in there he's the introvert right like
01:59jp you know this i don't know brian how much you know this because you're a former player so he
02:03might talk to you more but jayden doesn't give us much right like the most he'll give you an answer
02:07is about 10 words at that and then move on to the next thing he might even give you two
02:11words
02:12uh but you saw in this show when he's around his teammates when he was around his family
02:18when he's around even defenders on another team like uh dex lawrence who they did campbell soup ads
02:24uh they both have done those you see the personality there he's joking around he's kind of the life of
02:29the party and so what i assume about a lot of athletes is they don't know us that well because
02:34we're just kind of strangers but when they're around each other the personality comes out so
02:38jayden isn't what he seems uh he isn't as robotic as he seems uh in interviews and the second thing
02:43is
02:44i kind of knew this about him just because he's a quarterback just because he's an nfl player but
02:48he really is a competitor like with those those three injuries i guess four if you want to count
02:53about uh count re-aggravating the elbow at the end of the season against the vikings
02:58he wanted to keep playing right if anything i would assume commanders pr isn't that happy with
03:05him of how much he was saying like i do not agree with the medical staff i do not agree
03:09with the
03:10coaching staff as far as not being able to play like he wanted to play that much and so that
03:14just
03:14showed me too and some of the stuff he said this season as far as like i'm done with 2025
03:19i'm moving
03:20forward i'm still working i want to get better that just kind of showed me like who he is as
03:25a person
03:26and like we've seen a lot from him obviously his freshman season here but what he can be in the
03:32future is kind of indicative of what we're seeing now just how much he really wants to do this and
03:37you know he could be bleeding out on the field and jayden still wants to play yeah man it's it's
03:42been cool because a lot of those things that i think the netflix series is showing i think from
03:47covering him for his two years in the nfl i've seen like the sense of humor and kind of the
03:53the s talk
03:54and stuff right him and mikey you see that just watch him and mikey and then you'll see how he
03:58can
03:58get with his teammates well dude and his locker was next to wagner for the last couple seasons
04:03and the way him and bobby interacted it was all s talk all the time yeah and and i think
04:09it was
04:11pretty damn obvious he didn't want to get shut down and probably the right decision but i you know
04:18it's cool that the world will calm a fool then resurrect the corpse right i do think it's cool
04:24to be able to get this window into jayden um from the quarterback series and where do you think jayden
04:32is in this new offense you think he's ready to hit the ground running i mean you talk to anybody
04:38on
04:38the team and that seems to be the case like david blau and even dan quinn are both saying like
04:44he's
04:44picking things up so quickly like that's what i've heard from both of them teammates everything
04:49is like jayden is locked in um jayden is is picking up things faster than really anyone else
04:54he seems in control now on for our purposes we don't get to see that much at least through
04:59through otas and and many camps so i guess we'll see more once training camp starts but they seem
05:06to think that he's ready to do this and not to mention we've already seen what he can do at
05:10the
05:10nfl level now he gets to now he gets to run a completely new offense one that apparently will
05:16emphasize his skills even more so we saw greatness from him his rookie season but apparently according
05:23to those on the team we haven't seen anything yet well i think i i looked at it i read
05:28a story a few
05:29years ago where kirk cousins uh basically started looking at his play action passing game compared to
05:35whatever i mean all the other passing aspects of it and it was 20 30 percent higher completion ratio
05:42because he got more spacing i think jayden's gonna start loving that too because when he
05:47under center and running the plaques it's gonna be a way different thing than doing it from the
05:52shotgun yeah for someone with jayden speed holding that defensive line those linebackers even the
05:58cornerbacks for just a split second makes i believe a world of a difference and it's harder to do that
06:04brian i imagine you know it's hard to do that in shotgun right but like turning your back to them
06:08and making them pause just for that short amount of time that's going to open things up not only
06:13for jayden but for the running backs for the tight ends for the receivers so again we've seen greatness
06:17from jayden and and most of this unit but now we get to see something completely different possibly
06:24with with david blouse new offense um martensi there's so much discussion about the receiver
06:31position and and obviously this iuk stuff has been crazy um do you think you could still add brandon
06:38iu i i don't think so i was listening to the show yesterday and you mentioned how you know
06:46referencing the quarterback's mother probably isn't a great thing uh and brandon has backed off it seems
06:52a little bit from what he was doing a few weeks ago but i don't i'll put it this way
06:57whether it comes
06:58to brandon iuk or stefan diggs or anyone else the commanders have had for months the the ability
07:04to either trade for or sign these players and you can add keenan allen in there as well and they
07:09have that done it um david blouse again someone i referenced earlier he has said like he wants to
07:15take advantage of the players that he has he hasn't counted out bringing in someone new but he said he
07:19wants to see what he can do with antonio williams he says he wants to see what he can do
07:23with burps he
07:23wants to see what he can do with you know van jefferson whoever it might be so yeah there's still
07:28an opportunity for that to happen but they haven't done anything yet now training camp is still you
07:33know a few weeks away but they might just roll out what they have we don't know how good antonio
07:39williams can be because he's a rookie we don't know how good burps can be because he hasn't played
07:43that much even as the first round draft pick he hasn't played that much because of injuries so
07:47based on what they've done i'm assuming they're going to roll with what they have because
07:52diggs in particular is a free agent no one he's been one since march no one is stopping the
07:57commanders from bringing them in and yet they still haven't done it so unless something changes
08:01over these next couple weeks i'm just going to assume they're going to roll with what they got
08:05actions not words man that's what i always say and if you right the way dq ran that mini camp

08:10he said we want to look at our depth and then a week later they sign a corner because the
08:14corner
08:14depth was suspect yeah like they clearly at least as of right now feel some level of comfortability

09:04that i read about who you think will be kind of who will emerge as the number two receiver it's
09:10obviously terry at one um what did your research kind of lead you to it i don't think it's gonna
09:17be a
09:17receiver at least right now i think it's gonna be yeah you sound a lot alike minus your concern
09:24about the heat in dc in august you'll have to learn a lot uh i think king like he's maybe
09:32underrated
09:33here um and he's not a household name like you know a george kiddo or or gronk or somebody like
09:38that but chig is about as explosive a tight end as you can get um he was like top five
09:45top 10 and
09:46yards after catch so that's going to be beneficial when what braw wants to do this season is have more
09:52explosive plays and they brought in a tight end who can do that now you still got baits you still
09:56got
09:56others there but um i think she has a capability of doing it and part of that is because we've
10:03seen
10:04jayden throw to his tight end a lot over the last couple years and now he has a new tight
10:09end here so i
10:10think again unless antonio williams steps up to the plate unless burks or if they bring someone else in
10:15who a veteran who you know can get them 700 800 yards chig is right there um and can be
10:22that
10:22second leading receiver not to mention rashard white as well um he's probably not going to get
10:27eight 900 yards but he's another receiver option but i think chig is just flying under radar here
10:33because we're so consumed with who will be number two receiver that we don't think of who will be
10:37number two in receiving yards yeah see i i look at it the same way because i i'm looking at
10:42the league
10:42now and if you look at some of these tight ends and the athleticism of tight ends they seem to
10:48be
10:48a little bit better than the linebackers and the safeties are in my opinion and i think that's an
10:53advantage for an offense and if you have a guy like chig and you could utilize that should be some
10:58good
10:58stuff yeah yeah and even if they do bring in a second receiver you know terry's gonna get a lot
11:04of attention if rashad is back there he's gonna have to get a lot of attention from the linebackers
11:08and then that second receiver whether it's iuke or digs or whoever they're gonna get attention
11:13that's freeing somebody up and it could be chig it could be one of the other tight ends but
11:17i think you we can overlook things when we just want that number two receiver when it's like no
11:21it's really about who could just have the second most receiving yards that's really the most important
11:25thing here it really is all right i got a wild card one for you martenzie we just had this
11:30debate
11:30who on the commander's roster do you think would be the best world cup goalie
11:37see i do my research i was listening before i came up i already heard the conversation so i know
11:42sonny styles's name has come up i think algrady's name has come up algrady's algrady was asinine
11:49uh but and i wanted to this is my first time with some commander's fans you know listening to me
11:54so
11:54just know i'm a more nuanced person i'm not going to give you super hot takes so if you like
11:59that
11:59unfortunately i'm not that guy so my nuance thing is a goalie needs to be quick needs to be fast
12:03needs to have quick hands and you don't want someone short and unfortunately with the receivers
12:08most of them are shorter than me the one who isn't is luke mccaffrey so he gives you what you
12:14need as
12:15far as height he gives you speed he gives you quickness and agility i think that's what you
12:19want sonny styles is great but sonny styles is a little heavier i think luke will probably be the
12:24best i like that i like the luke answer i like that nuanced stuff and i think if they run
