00:30This gum brand from Mandela's International used to be a staple at supermarkets and convenience stores.
00:35A product you'd see alongside the likes of Trident, Orbit, and Extra.
00:38But in 2020, the Stride flavor lineup was down to just one, Spearmint.
00:44Don't reveal the secret flavor of new Stride Mega Mystery, or we'll find you.

00:51We're talking about a brand that used to offer a double-digit number of flavors.
00:55So it was clear the downfall was happening.
00:57And sure enough, in 2024, Stride was discontinued in the United States, Canada, and Europe.

01:19I have a little something in my desk.
01:22This American candy bar, containing peanuts, caramel, and fudge covered in milk chocolate, has a lengthy history.
01:29O' Henry is thought to have been introduced all the way back in 1920 by Williamson Candy Company in Chicago.
01:34That's one of our top-selling candy bars. It's got chocolate, peanuts, nougat. It's delicious,
01:40scrumptious, outstanding. It became a mainstay in American candy culture for decades. However,
01:46in the late 2010s, shortly before the candy bar's 100th anniversary, O'Henry bars disappeared from
01:52U.S. shelves. They're still sold by the Hershey Company in Canada. They look a bit different
02:08and have a different chocolate coating, but they're still that classic O'Henry combination
02:12of peanuts, caramel, and chocolate. It's everything you love, without the things you don't.
02:19I did not love that. That's why it's not in O'Henry. O'Henry, everything you love.
02:24Number 8. Fanta Green Apple
02:29You might first think of orange or grape when Fanta comes to mind, but the beverage brand has
02:34had plenty of other flavor options over the years, especially if we're taking into account
02:39countries outside of the United States. One of those, which was actually once available in the
02:44States, is Green Apple. The Coca-Cola company still makes this soda and sells it in China,
02:59and it seems you might be able to get your hands on it in a few other Asian countries as
03:03well.
03:04The U.S. obviously has plenty of soda options, but the rarity of the Green Apple flavor does
03:09make you wonder if it could make a comeback. Maybe even through a Coca-Cola freestyle machine.
03:15I could drink cans of that and not feel bad about it. Like I said, it's very refreshing.

03:24Number 7. Oreo O's
03:27Oreo O's cereal? Am I dreaming?
03:29Sure, plenty of Oreo lovers and sugary cereal lovers miss these things, but you won't find
03:35them on grocery store shelves. How are Americans handling the crisis? Two words, self-control.
03:42Oreo O's came out in 1997, but a decade later, they were discontinued everywhere except one country,
03:49South Korea. Because Korean food manufacturer Dongsa Foods has joint venture ties to General
03:55Foods, later acquired by Kraft Foods, it ended up with licensing rights to both post-consumer brands
04:00and the Oreo brand. Oreo O's made a comeback in the U.S. and elsewhere in 2017, only to be
04:06discontinued again and replaced with Oreo Puffs several years later. Still, Oreo O's have
04:12remained a steady presence in Korea.
04:26Number 6. Fruitopia
04:28Thanks for showing me around, Dr. Venture. And for the Fruitopia. Can't remember the last
04:33time I had one of those.
04:34The 90s vibes are in full effect here. Fruitopia from the Coca-Cola company's Minute Maid brand
04:39is a fruit-flavored drink that came out in 1994, but was phased out in the U.S. in 2003.
04:45At one time, you could find Fruitopia at supermarkets, convenience stores, vending machines, and soda fountains.
04:51The colorful, trippy branding really stood out.
04:54Tuxedo. Fruit. Fruitopia. Spear. Supermarket. Fruit. Fruitopia.
05:06Nowadays, for Americans, Fruitopia is simply a part of beverage nostalgia. But in Canada and Australia,
05:12it's still available. Another fruity Minute Maid drink that was discontinued in the States,
05:16but is still purchasable in Canada, is Five Alive. But Fruitopia gets the spot on our list
05:21because it's a bit more culturally iconic. And to cool off, nothing beats Fruitopia. The iced tea
05:28brewed by hippies, but distributed by a heartless multinational corporation.
05:33Number 5. Ritz Swiss Cheese Crackers. They were popular in the United States back in the 80s,
05:40but for quite some time, Nabisco's Ritz Swiss Cheese Crackers have been nowhere to be found.
05:45I like the hors d'oeuvres. Any left?
05:47Uh-uh.

05:48This party I served a sure thing.

05:51You put everything on a Ritz. It's the only cracker I know everybody likes.

05:56The crackers with holes in them, resembling Swiss cheese, are not totally gone though.
06:01In Canada, you can find them with the name Christy in the top left corner of the box.
06:05It's basically Kraft, but it's like the Canadian, um, side of Kraft from what I've gathered.
06:11But, uh, I like Swiss cheese. And from what I heard, I think Kraft even, or what's the
06:17other, Nabisco, had a Swiss cheese and a Swiss cheese bacon that has been discontinued.
06:22Similarly, cheese nips have been discontinued in the United States, but are still sold in
06:26Canada as Ritz Cheese Nibs under the Christy brand. But we're shouting out the Swiss cheese
06:31crackers because those are a more unique snack. Less similar than cheese nips when comparing
06:36them to the timeless Cheez-It.
06:38Cheez-It in 10 cheesy flavors. Cheesy, crunchy, satisfaction.
06:42Number 4. Pepsi Twist.
06:44Lemon can add a tasty extra dimension to a drink. Pepsi Twist is an example of that.
06:50This lemon flavored beverage became available nationwide in the US in 2001, but was discontinued
06:55just five years later. And it was not for a lack of marketing efforts.

07:32And the only surefire way for Americans to sip a Pepsi Twist again would be to get one from another

08:38With that said, they are still produced across the pond for the U.K. market,
08:42coming in flavors such as Sweet and Spicy, Fiery Jalapeno and Cheese, and Flamin' Hot.

08:48Doritos 3D.
08:58It's a snack that's been described as Doritos meeting Bugles.
09:02Doritos 3D hit shelves in the United States in 1998.
09:06The hollow and crunchy chips came in jalapeno cheddar, nacho cheese, and zesty ranch flavors.
09:14Get ready for a three-dimensional shot of flavor.
09:17Frito-Lay bringing this new, conical shape to its Doritos line was sure to draw attention,
09:22and it veered from people's historical perception of the brand.
09:25But to many customers, they were happy about the new product, and subsequently sad when it
09:30was discontinued in 2004.
09:32Doritos 3D returned in 2020 in two new flavors, but were once again absent from American shelves
09:37just a few years later.
09:39However, you can still get your hands on a bag of Doritos 3D in Mexico.

10:01There are multiple M&Ms fillings out there, but one is dearly missed, the crisped rice.

10:16Crispy M&Ms came back ten years later to the pleasure of many fans, but were once again
10:21discontinued in 2022.
