00:02West Palm Beach's airport has officially been renamed after Trump,
00:06becoming the first U.S. airport named after a sitting president, according to CNBC.
00:12The airport said signage, branding, and public-facing materials will be updated in phases,
00:17while the FAA location identifier will change from PBI to DJT,
00:22and the International Air Transport Association code will change on August 18th.
00:26United Airlines and Delta Airlines have already begun displaying the new DJT code on booking pages,
00:33although travelers can still search using PBI.
00:36The name change follows legislation signed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and subsequent FAA approval.
00:43The airport estimates the transition will cost $5.5 million,
00:48with half funded by the state and the remainder paid through the local Department of Airports.
00:52Eric Trump said Trump Force One, a Trump Organization private jet,
00:58would be the first plane to land at the renamed airport
01:00and expressed pride in seeing the DJT code on his boarding pass.
