Washington Urges US States To Strengthen Taiwan Ties, Resist Chinese Pressure

The US State Department and two other federal agencies have written a letter to state governors encouraging deeper economic and cultural ties with Taiwan, with a focus on agriculture, education, and trade. The letter, released by the US de facto embassy in Taiwan, also warns that Chinese officials may push back against such engagement and urges governors to notify the State Department if that occurs.
