00:00The Australian Federal Police intercepted a shipment of 2.7 tonnes of cocaine on Australia's
00:05East Coast, which is the largest ever cocaine seizure in Australia. It follows the previous
00:12seizure of 178kg of cocaine and 142kg of methamphetamine, representing a total seizure
00:20of more than three tonnes of border-controlled drugs. On Friday, June 19, 2026, police searched
00:28a semi-rural property in Londonderry near Western Sydney. Two men, aged 21 and 25, allegedly attempted
00:37to flee police on foot before they were caught and arrested. Police located the 2.7 tonnes of cocaine
00:45in plastic tubs buried in underground bunkers, concealed by false floors in three shipping
00:51containers. The amount of drugs is estimated to have a street value of $816 million.
00:58This alleged plot to distribute nearly three tonnes of cocaine by arranging for an international
01:02vessel to offload the drugs in northern Queensland before moving them into Sydney demonstrates
01:07how highly organised and determined these criminal networks are and the extreme lengths they are
01:11willing to go to in pursuit of profit. I would like to thank the exceptional work of our AFP
01:17investigators, together with our QPS and law enforcement counterparts, who have together
01:21prevented a significant amount of illicit drugs from reaching our community.
01:28So, no matter how overall this is, you know, we need to do something in terms of finding
01:32in terms of a non-movement.
