05:29I still see that the girl that I met is so passionate, so determined to work on her craft.

05:34And siguro, when we did Sparkle U, I think that was her first acting debut, di ba?

05:39And siguro ngayon, you can see her, how she evolved through her series and now with Born to Shine.

05:45Parang nakakatuwa lang.

05:46So, yung difference talaga is how she improved in her work.

05:50But for me, what always remains the same is her dedication and her passion.

06:21Ako, I think, whenever I would see Michael, na-inspire ako dun sa kung paano siya very ma-effort sa

06:33So, mostly like online, because I'm the type of person that medyo challenge for me to be Gen Z, like

06:42Yeah, but when I see yung post ko, ang nyari yung mga post niya parang, okay, maybe I can try

06:48that.

06:48Parang ganun, I think yun.

06:50So, very, um, online.

06:53Sa past stuff?

06:54Parang mas natututu ka na maging open, even about yung what you're doing outside work.

07:00Yeah.

07:00And then show it to your fans online, parang ganyan.

07:04Hmm.

07:04I think siguro kay Zeth, yung kaaganyang mas na-support niya, and si Jenny, medyo, um, marami siya pinagataanan.

07:11And there's several scenes that we share together, na emotional siya, or talagang, ah, malalayong hugot.

07:16And siguro nakikita ko sa kanya, and what also inspired me is how honest she is with her craft.

07:21Kasi yung pagiging vulnerable, yung pagiging, ah, emotional, talagang pinapakita niya sa amin.

07:27And, ah, it's what's stuck with me is she wants to make sure it's true.

07:31So, kumbaga hindi niya ginagawa yung eksena na parang ina-arte niya lang.

07:34Gusto niya talagang genuine, parang connect yung character na niya para sa mga nanonood.

07:39And I'm feeling ko, I mean, she is doing a great job because so many people relate to the journey

07:43of Jenny.

07:44And talagang, because she puts a lot too behind that, yung mga iyak na yun, mahilap talaga.

07:48So, that's something that, ah, I aspire to be like kasi yun yung, yung vulnerability is a weakness of mine.

07:55But, ayun, ang galing ni Zeth because she's just so honest that she's improving and learning every day.

08:00But, ah, ito ba, ah, Michael, tinuturuan mo siya ng mga TikTok challenge, ganyan, kasi sabi niya, yun yung medyo

08:07kulang sa kanya ng konti, eh, nai-inspire siya sa'yo.

08:57Um, I honestly see Jenny parang super, very close to my real-life story yung kung parang yung mga naging

09:14And, um, also how she never gives up on her dreams talaga.

09:21So, I think yung yung pinaka nag-resonate sa'kin na, she wouldn't be, Jenny wouldn't be where she is

09:26now,

09:26sa UMI or dun sa, sa industry ng world na yun, sa Born to Shine, kung nag-give up siya.

09:33And, same goes for me na, I feel like, if yung mga moments na, na, talagang nag-give up din

09:40ako,

09:41and walang, walang nag-encourage sa akin, I, I don't think na I'll be here din, um, doing all of

09:48this.

09:48So, yun, I, Jenny's also surrounded with people na never na sumuko sa kanya at laging nandiyan to support her.

09:58Same, same na na po sa'kin, I'm surrounded with great people, great friends.

10:03Ayan, how about you, Michael?

10:05Sa'yo yung character na si Nate, meron bang nakaka-rate ka doon sa pinagdadaanan niya?

10:12Every character that I portray, talaga, may find something that we're similar in, siguro.

10:17And, with Nate, the beauty of it, kasi, for the first time, gaganap ako na isang artista siya,

10:22or artist, or singer, most especially, right?

10:25So, I relate to them in terms of, palayas kami na si Industria, yung mga pinagdadaanan niya,

10:31somewhat na pagdadaanan bali sa loong buhay.

10:34So, siguro, natutuwa na pala yun yung similarities sa amin,

10:37because I get to see how also passionate and driven Nate is.

10:40And that's something that I always try to be in real life.

10:44And, at the same time, it's something that I want to show to the people na yung mga nanood na

10:48kung gusto nila mag-artista,

10:50or if they can translate us fighting for our dreams for their own being,

10:54it's really a good way to motivate them na kahit anong nangyayari sa mga challenges or obstacles na hinaharap nila

11:00sa trabako nila,

11:01sa school nila, or sa buhay nila, parang gagawin nilang lahat.

11:04And Jenny does that, Nate does that, and even the other Umi Girls,

11:07lahat talaga siya, it's all about dreams and achieving them.

11:11So, it's a journey, mahirap siya,

11:13but ayun, talagang natutuwa ako na yun yung relatability ko sa character.

11:18Nag-train ka din ba?

11:20on prior to studying singing before you get involved in the morning.

11:26You know, when originally finished this show, they wanted to play piano, singing and guitar.

11:32Originally, I know how to play piano when I was younger.

11:34But now, I'm not able to play piano as often.

11:37But as they said, I really need to be able to play.

11:39And of course, I'm with singers in this show.

11:43I mean, Petra and Zezep and others.

11:46I just want to give it justice if it's good.

11:49I don't have to pay attention to singing aspects.

11:52It's important to my character.

11:53So, I really took the time to do workshops as much as I can feel it in my schedule.

11:58And I tried to improve my singing ability.

12:01Because for me, it's an investment that it's worth doing.

12:06Because outside of the show, I used it for my promos.

12:10And ever since, the reason when I started showbiz,

12:13singing and performing has always been a passion.

12:15That's why I was doing it in a role and I'm feeling it.

12:19I'm feeling it.

12:20Is there a scene where Jenny and singing are going to do it?

12:25Hmm.

12:27There was.

12:28There was.

12:28When we were basking, she was very short and sweet.

12:32Yeah.

12:32And I'm feeling it.

12:35Because Zeph and I, the last time we do it was on Sparkle You.

13:34Minsan papasok na lang siya ng dressing room namin.

13:37Kumakagta siya or sumisigaw siya ng maintindihan.

13:42And then, everyone will just join.

13:43So, yun yung mga moments siguro na pagod na lahat.

13:46But still, may energy pa na magkaroon ng mga fun times.

13:52Ayan.

13:53Syempre, do.

13:54Kasama natin sa Born to Shine din ang mga veteran singers and actresses.

13:58Kayo ba?

13:59Meron bang anything kayo na natutunan

14:02or mga advice kayo na binigay ba sa inyo?

14:05Sina Manilin?

14:10Marami po.

14:11But I think hindi siya kasi yung tipong advice naman.

14:15Parang it just naturally comes after ng scene.

14:19Minsan, it starts na nag-a-ask kami ng question.

14:22I think yun yung na-feel ko ng consideration nila.

14:27They're not the type na ganito gawin mo.

14:29But they let you come to them.

14:32Parang...

14:34I ask them sometimes, parang kay nanay.

14:36Nanay na po talaga kasi tawag ko sa kanya.

14:38Kay Ms. Manilin.

14:39Sa tunay.

14:40Paano yung ginagawa mo pag mga ganitong scenes na heavy and nahihirapan ka?

14:46So, she just generously gives me advice.

14:49And even yung tatay ko ko sa Pepsi.

14:52Well, I think yung mismong moments na in-between takes,

14:58natural lang na dumadating yung mga advice nila or kwento

15:02na doon kami natututo.

15:04Ayan. How about you?

15:06Ako naman po, every time that I have an opportunity to work with a veteran,

15:09parang natutuwa ako kasi talagang for me,

15:12ano yan eh, dati pinapanad ka lang sila growing up, diba?

15:15And I'm sure they have so much experiences that they want to share.

15:18Yet, sometimes, I'm just sitting in on set and observing them.

15:22Kasi in that way talaga nakikita kung paano sila kumilos,

15:26kung paano nila tinatranto yung mga kasama namin on set

15:29or how they tackle the scene.

15:31And siguro to point one out,

15:33Ms. Tessie Tomas, siya yung lola ni Megan doon.

15:36And before and after scenes, she will give me feedback.

15:40And medyo kasi ano talaga siya straight forward,

15:42but that's honestly what I appreciate.

15:44Kasi yung advice niya, atakin na parang director,

15:48na tinutulong niya kami na,

15:49baka pwede mo patatagin na ganin ka, ganin ka, ganin yan.

15:52And siguro, it opens my perspective na,

15:54oo oo nga no, parang pwede pa natin na mas pa,

15:57lagyan ng konting spice yung ikse na pagbaga.

16:00So ayun, yung mga small things like that I appreciate.

16:02And si na ms. Mano din, si na ms. Vina, Ms. Tina,

16:05and my mom, si ms. Rizal Daba in the show.

16:07They're very, it's just so cool to watch them

16:10kasi mga legendary OPM icons din siya, no?

16:13Din sila, no?

16:14Kaya parang, seeing them in person,

16:16or how they act,

16:17or how they are doing their scenes,

16:19especially yung mga concert episodes,

16:21parang in awe lang ako na sa start song,

16:23but at the same time, parang wow,

16:25ang galing na sa harapan na.

16:26Yeah, ayan.

16:28So ito, konting throwback naman tayo.

16:30Ang galing nga, kasi yung Born to Shine is about

16:33yung journey ng artista from beginning

16:36hanggang dun sa nagsasucceed nga.

16:40Kayo ba?

16:41Can you recall a time na nagsastruggle din kayo,

16:44or nagnadon kayo sa waiting season sa inyong career?

16:47And what was it like at that time?

16:52Of course, I think naman po lahat dumadaan talaga sa ganun.

16:56And ako personally, I think it,

17:01before Born to Shine,

17:02there was Maka and Batang Bilis.

17:04But before that, yun yung salingin ko naging waiting season ko na,

17:08I think I also prayed then kasi to God na,

17:12parang I wanted to spend time more na,

17:15parang sa personal life ko.

17:17So feeling ko yung yung naging opportunity.

17:19And for me, yung waiting season was more of like a preparation.

17:24hindi naman totally na wala na.

17:27But siyempre, as a human, you'll feel na,

17:29okay, what's gonna happen to me next?

17:32And may mga moments na I ask myself,

17:34I still wanna do this.

17:37Like, it's a very, it's such a different world

17:40from the life na I grew up in sa Laguna,

17:44yung ganong simpleng buhay.

17:45And I think dumating din ako sa point na parang

17:50I just wanted to live that simple life

17:55wala sa harap ng camera.

17:58Pero unti-unti rin po kasing na-reveal sa akin na,

18:02I feel like there's really something in this industry na parang

18:08I wanna be a part of.

18:10It's more of like a deeper sense of parang purpose,

18:15more than just the passion to share my talent.

18:19There's much more than that.

18:21So, ayun, it's more of,

18:23it looks more of like trusting God talaga na

18:26in the waiting.

18:28It's, it's really him working in my life.

18:32And syempre, alam din ang iyong fans, no,

18:35na yung experience of yung mga halimbawa

18:38loss in a competition or rejection.

18:42Paano ka, anong natutunan mo from those experiences?

18:47That there is a right timing for everything.

18:52Na doesn't mean na hindi sya nangyari ngayon.

18:56Hindi na sya para sa you.

18:57Maybe it really isn't for you.

19:00Pero, it just means na may tamang time na

19:02ma-achieve mo yung dreams,

19:04maybe in a different way.

19:08But, yun lang, not to be discouraged.

19:11Na when you get rejected, when you fail,

19:15when you fail at something na yun na yung end of it.

19:18It's really getting back on your feet,

19:21trying and trusting.

19:23Yeah.

19:25Ayan.

19:25Grabe naman ang words of wisdom ni Zeppany.

19:28Ito si Michael.

19:29Syempre, talagang ibang lyrics din yung pinagdaanan na

19:33coming from Canada and then going here on your own

19:38and trying it out in showbiz.

19:40Ano yung mga iniisip mo noon na tayo na parang wala pa,

19:44hindi pa maka land ng lead roles in acting?

19:50I always believed in God's perfect timing

19:53kasi when I started this,

19:55I never really saw myself doing showbiz

19:57or i-pursue yung pag-ing artista.

19:59Pero nag-audition kasi ako for the first time

20:02when PBB back in 2021.

20:04Parang wala ko nakita na parang,

20:05ah, I actually enjoyed doing this.

20:07And then, that was my first heartbreak in the industry

20:09na parang, shucks, gusto gusto makapasok noon.

20:12Parang natuwa na ako, excited na ako,

20:13dami na nangyayari, and hindi natuloy.

20:16And then sabi ko, okay, okay lang to,

20:17I accepted it, but I wanted to continue.

20:19So I really waited another year

20:22until auditions opened again

20:23and I was just in Canada.

20:25Sabi ko, by that time,

20:26gusto ko na umuwi ng Pilipinas.

20:28And then umuwi ako ng Pilipinas,

20:29nag-audition na ako.

20:31And hindi man lang nakapasok noon,

20:33I was founded by Mr. M of Sparkle Na.

20:37And ayun, then I started my journey in GMA

20:39and then, after that parang,

20:41they gave me an opportunity

20:43with Love is Caught in His Arms.

20:44And there was a time after taping

20:47na talag nipasya umuwi-earing.

20:49And sabi ko, this is really the waiting game.

20:51Ang dami kong kailangan na pag-aaralan pa.

20:55And it was hard kasi yung work wasn't as good

20:58and I always moved here alone.

21:00So parang wala masyadong income

21:01and stuff like that.

21:02So there came to a point na parang,

21:04hala, ay ako ba ito?

21:05But then, siguro, at the time,

21:07na sobrang happy ko sa ginagawa ko.

21:09I'm super proud of the progress.

21:11Sabi ko, okay, I will find a way

21:12para lang I will meet my

21:15kailangan na imeet sa end of the month,

21:17mga gano'n.

21:17I did that until umuwi kami a year later,

21:20Januari nun.

21:21And parang after waiting that long,

21:23it actually felt more,

21:25parang ano yun, it felt even better.

21:27Kasi yung timing niya, perfect.

21:29It was a better time to air,

21:30mas mga ganda yung slot na nakuha namin.

21:32And parang because of that,

21:34ko na-realize na, ah,

21:35sa showbiz pala talang,

21:36kailangan mo maging patient.

21:37Hindi yung,

21:38porke gusto mo ganito, ganyan,

21:40makuha muna agad.

21:41I mean,

21:41there's a reason,

21:43every time,

21:43kung baka na-delay siya.

21:45And for me, yung talagang,

21:46I consider it as a miracle

21:48or a relay lesson is,

21:50Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition.

21:52Kasi parang,

21:53twice ako nag-addition,

21:54hindi nung nakapasog twice.

21:55Ang sabi ko, oh my god, okay,

21:57there goes my dream.

21:58Ito naman ako kasi maan showbiz,

21:59gusto mo mag-PP.

22:00So parang sabi ko,

22:01hindi nung nakapasog ko, okay na,

22:02inaccept ko na.

22:04And then, yung nating to the point

22:04na,

22:05may audition.

22:06For the first time,

22:07magkakula kong GMA at ABS

22:09and there was a possibility

22:10na makapasog ko.

22:11And parang sabi ko,

22:12oh my god,

22:13na parang,

22:14grabe yun,

22:15yung the impossible

22:16became possible

22:17and at the perfect time,

22:19parang God gave me away

22:20na makakapasog ko

22:21in a fun season,

22:23an historic season.

22:24And I was just so thankful

22:25kasi for sure

22:26that was really one of the biggest

22:28breakthroughs in my career

22:29when I entered Pinoy Big Brother.

22:31And from then and there,

22:32sinasabi ko every time

22:33na nag-wawait ako

22:34o pag may times

22:36na nahihirapan ako sa career,

22:37alam kong kailangan ko lang siya

22:39lampasan.

22:40Because in a career like this

22:41or in life in general,

22:43how fast you go up

22:44is also how fast you go down.

22:45Siguro one things take slower,

22:47it's also parang

22:48mas better yung ganun eh.

22:49Kasi you're prepared for

22:50all the small obstacles

22:52para when a big one comes

22:53isang malaking problema,

22:55prepared ka.

22:56Kung baga,

22:56ang dami kong learnings

22:57na nag-iintay ako.

22:58It really taught me

22:59na this business

23:01is not for everybody,

23:03especially when I was 19.

23:04So ayun,

23:05masaya lang ako na

23:06I still waited

23:07and I'm still here

23:08and I'm so thankful

23:09and grateful

23:10for everything

23:10that I received.
