Lotfollah Khan Farshchian, the owner of the house, is a sick and old but wealthy and respected man who has a hand in charity events and based on a pledge he signed forty years ago he's promised to donate half of his properties to an orphanage that his old friend, Haj Karim Golabchian, had established many years ago. But as soon as the news is announced it raises hell between two family members. 00:54Good morning, dear. You must get up now. The guests are coming.
01:00Here you are, the early bird again.
01:07Why are you still sleeping, auntie?
01:09Oh. Is it morning already? Have you put away your shoes, Cinderella?
01:17Mm-mm.
01:22Grandfather, won't you wake up already? The birds are chirping.
01:26Tell the birds to wake up. I'll be up in a minute.
01:32Grandfather, get up, please. Can't you smell spring in the air?
01:39Get out of bed, Grandfather. Come on, get up.
01:57Get out of bed, Grandfather. Come on, get up.

02:43Beep, beep, beep.
02:53Whoa, what a wondrous cheese.
03:04Kids, get over here far.
03:06We've got a lot to do tonight.
03:08Now that's my girl.
03:10Chew, chew, chew, chew, chew.
03:16Good job, boys.
03:17But you've got to hurry up.
03:19You've got to shake a leg to make it for tonight.
03:20Sure thing, ma'am.
03:21Hello there. We're losing daylight, you know.
03:25Good job.
03:34Chapeau, you seem to have forgotten this.
03:39Take it.
03:41Where are you going so fast, lady?
03:42I'll take you.
03:43This car is under my name, but it's at your service.
03:46I'm going to get the drapes.
03:47Well, say no more. I'm at your service.
03:52Just get the things according to the list.
03:55Sure thing.
04:00There you are. Goat cheese and bread, hot from the oven.
04:03Charok, dear. You said goat cheese?
04:05I'm Charperak, grandfather.
04:07Don't mess with me first thing in the morning, Charperak.
04:10Charok or Marok, I don't know.
04:13Do I have to eat frozen bread again?
04:15When is this boy going to learn to get up early in the morning and get some fresh bread?
04:20Huh?
04:22Where is everyone else?
04:25Mother's gone to get the drapes and father said he doesn't eat breakfast because he has to go to the
04:29shop.
04:29And Shahan should come in any minute.
04:31Your aunt party must still be sleeping, right?
04:32She's a little sick, but she'll be here soon, grandfather.
04:34That's why her husband is on the outs with her all the time.
04:38Give her some juice, she'll get better.
04:40Sure thing, grandfather.
04:42Why aren't you at work?
04:44We have a gathering today.
04:45What kind of gathering?
04:46Did you forget about the Haj Karim Golabshan orphanage?
04:49Haj Karim Golabshan.
04:52Oh.
04:54What a man he was.
05:01Is it our Noru's?
05:03No, it's the day before that.
05:05Wasn't Noru's yesterday?
05:06That was last year.
05:07This year we'll have a fresh new start.
05:11Hello, grandfather.
05:12Hello, good morning.
05:15Good morning.
05:17Is there sugar?
05:18Sugar cubes?
05:23Don't put too many sugar cubes in that cup of tea.
05:26Do you think that's going to sweeten up your personality?
05:29One sugar cube is enough to sweeten a cup of tea.
05:32I tasted that and it works.
05:33Have you rationed up the sugar cubes?
05:34Is it wartime?
05:36No.
05:36It's just that I don't like your attitude.
05:38Well, loosen up a little bit.
05:40Be happy for a while, grandfather.
05:42What's wrong?
05:45Give me a piece of bread.
05:46You didn't get the bread.
05:48And you want bread now.
05:52Those who make gold into elixir with craftsmanship.
05:58What's the second verse?
06:00Will you be kind to me at least for once, grandfather?
06:03Should I be kind to you for being an early bird?
06:06Or for the hot from the oven bread?
06:08Or the noble poetry?
06:11I don't know what to mean more.
06:13I just...
06:15He's gone.
06:17And he didn't eat anything.
06:21The poor thing.
06:22Go get him.
06:23You know what?
06:24Let him go.
06:25He's a good kid.
06:27Eat your breakfast.
06:51Ah-ha!
06:52Why is the first thing I must see in the mornings these fashion bastards?
06:56You've got to let go of the old hatred.
06:58Leave them alone.
06:59With the new year should come new thoughts.
07:01I just can't help it.
07:02Well...
07:03But you should be smiling.
07:05Tonight's a moonlit night and I want my lover.
07:10Oh, my God.
07:11Why are you so late?
07:11You know, father was getting on my nerves.
07:13Come on now.
07:14Come on.
07:15Well, well, well.
07:16If it's not the almighty Salar.
07:18Smile, my man.
07:19Smile.
07:20Good morning, Salar.
07:22Smile, brother.
07:23Hello, sir.
07:24Poor dear.
07:24You will not give up on even the last day of the year.
07:27It seems the business is as lubricated as can be.
07:29You're opening the store on the last day of the year, too.
07:31Your business must be good as gold.
07:34Say.
07:34Good God.
07:35Good God.
07:36Good God.
07:36Well, if it's okay, we've got to go.
07:38Godspeed.
07:39All right.
07:40Let's go, Salar.
07:40Take care, my man.
07:50Good God.
08:14Did I look like this last year, too?
08:17You're handsome as always, grandfather.
08:30Time flies by so fast.
08:32Feels like yesterday to me.
08:34Good old days.
08:39Everyone, the breakfast is being served.
08:42You can't wash a carpet with an empty stomach.
08:45Say, Fala, come on.
08:46Let's start.
08:47I've already eaten, Lord Fala Khan.
08:48There's frozen bread.
08:50And on top of that goat cheese, too.
08:53Don't be shy.
08:54The table is still there.
08:55I've put everything away, grandfather.
08:57Well, well.
08:59There's my princess.
09:00So finally, my lady Zari is awake.
09:03Oh, well.
09:04Grandfather, I'm Parry.
09:05Zari's gone out.
09:07Parry.
09:08Parry.
09:09Zari.

09:11Zari.
09:12Ah.
09:1450 or 60 years ago.
09:17On a day like this, and right at this hour.
09:23Everyone was doing their best to make me ready.
09:30One would give me some food.
09:33The other was massaging my shoulders.
09:38And then they escorted me to the shower.
09:42And after that, we partied until night.
09:47Then I became a bride's groom.
09:52I feel I'm over the moon when my family and children are here with me on Uruz.
10:01When this house is crowded, everyone, trees, flowers, the fish in the pool, the tiles in the wall,
10:10crows and the sparrows are happy.
10:15So am I.
10:20Darling, I get happy, too, when my family's all around me.
10:26Home means nothing if there's no family living in it.
10:31When the children get here in the evening, make some halver.
10:37Make some halver to donate, and also make some salad.
10:43Your beautiful, special salad for us all to eat.
10:48Sure thing, Grandfather.
10:49But today we've been invited to Housecarim Orphanage.
10:52I want to.
10:53Well, okay, sure.
10:55Our uncle's here now.
11:04Hello, Ebby, dear.
11:06Hey, hello, Miss Shaparak, dear.
11:07I haven't seen you in ages.
11:08Finally we've made it.
11:09So how are you?
11:10I thought you were the uncle and his family.

11:13Hello, Shaparak, dear.
11:15Good God.
11:17Good God.
11:18Oh, how's your dear father?

11:21Yes, he's all right.
11:23He's getting ready for the Housecarim's charity event tonight.
11:25Oh, will the Golubchians be there, too?
11:27Yes, everyone's going to be there.
11:37Grandfather, Grandfather, Aunt Hesat is here.

12:15I hail to the eldest of the Farchanian dynasty.

12:28What?
12:44Say hello to the old man.
12:46Hello, Lutfalla Khan.

13:15Can't believe it.
13:16She's gone.
13:17Can you believe it?
13:19Oh, the Hawk?
13:21No, my mother.
13:26Well, how many kids do you have so far?
13:29Well, there are about 30 or so.

13:33That one is Morva Red, and this one is Rose.
13:36I don't remember this one's name, but this one is Cartoon.
13:40That's Fantail Galabatoon.
13:42Just look at its tail.
13:43I do love its tail.

13:54Okay, now go do your thing.
13:56Ebi the crow.

14:02Go do your business.
14:04No.

14:07Ebi dear?
14:09Where are you?
