00:03It's a reflection of struggle. This whole dance is about struggle.
00:09It was a story about a young man that was removed from their family here in the Territory
00:15and living on an island, basically, of England.
00:18As he grew up, you know, in and out of jail.
00:22And at that time, he wasn't allowed to travel back to Australia because of his criminal record.
00:26I was a child of that time too, you know, born in 61,
00:30and thinking they could have came and taken me away from my mum, but they didn't.
00:36What we're doing with the choreographer actually came out of his letter writing
00:40because he remembered country. He remembered sitting on country.
00:45And his written work was so beautiful.
00:48So it's amazing what his life was like growing up in England.
00:51It's so different to what his life might have been here in Australia.
00:55It's like two sides of the same coin.
00:58It's like living through his pain, his own pain, his own demons.
01:02And then you see another person who might be his jailmate, you know, his cellmate.
01:08Or the spirit that travels with him, the indigenous spirit,
01:13like his ancestors that travel with him.
01:16That was good.
01:17The tour is going really well. It is a first.
01:20And we finish at the opera house.
01:25It's not about making people feel guilty.
01:28It's about making people understand and knowing that this is an Australian story.
01:34It's an indigenous and non-indigenous story because it's our story.
