00:00I want a family, a legacy, to be the father I never had.
00:05Welcome to MojoPlays and today we're bringing our own puke bags.
00:08Horror games love to push the envelope and deaths in horror games are when the gloves
00:12come off for game devs. These are the 10 most disturbing deaths in horror games.
00:17Let's get this over with. Before we continue, we publish content all week long,
00:21so be sure to subscribe and ring the bell to get notified of our latest videos.
00:36Emily in Until Dawn can go out in so many different ways and none of them are easy to watch.
00:41She's not exactly the most likeable character and I think the devs knew this,
00:44using her as a guinea pig for some of the worst deaths available. One of the most messed up moments
00:49comes from the whole bite situation. If the group thinks she's infected, things spiral fast,
00:54Mike can straight up panic and shoot her on the spot. And it happens so suddenly it barely gives
00:59you time to process it. Then there's falling into a grinder or getting caught by the wendigo,
01:03which are just as brutal, but sometimes really cathartic.
01:10Mayu Corpse Party
01:14The Corpse Party games aren't exactly pushing crazy visuals, but that's kind of the point.
01:18Since it started as an RPG makeup project, it leans way more on your imagination than showing
01:24everything straight up. But that doesn't mean things can't get pretty disturbing.
01:27The death that sticks the hardest is Mayu's. She's super kind, she's almost too kind. The kind of kind
01:33where you might get slammed against a wall repeatedly just for being so kind. Instead of running from the
01:37nightmares, she tries to connect with the spirits haunting the place, which is obviously a terrible
01:42idea. Not long after, they grab her and drag her through the halls, smashing her against walls over and
01:46over and over until she's in absolute pieces. Bad way to go out.
01:55All Deaths, Fear and Hunger
02:01Pretty much every detail in Fear and Hunger feels awful, mainly because the game doesn't feel a need
02:05to hold back. It's not just about losing health and retrying either. When you mess up, things go
02:10downhill in the worst way possible. You can lose limbs, get permanently crippled, or end up in situations
02:15that are straight up disturbing. Some deaths happen out of nowhere too, which keeps you constantly
02:20on edge. What makes it hit harder is how unfair it can feel, like the game is actively working
02:26against you. There's no safety net, no mercy, just consequences. Disturbing consequences.
02:35The bad ending, Resident Evil Requiem.
02:38And all will be forgiven.
02:40Oh, only if you let Leon live.
02:45Very well.
02:49A really disturbing moment in Resident Evil 9 comes from what happens to Leon, and it hits way harder
02:56than you'd expect. Leon's always been this confident, almost untouchable character, so seeing him
03:00completely lose control is pretty unsettling on its own. The game builds it up slowly, showing him
03:05getting worn down and clearly not okay, until things finally snap. When it happens, it's not some quick
03:12or clean death either. It's messy, with the camera lingering just enough to make it uncomfortable, albeit
03:17blurred or blocked. What makes it worse is that you know who he is, so watching him go out like
03:21this
03:22feels wrong. And I guess it was.
03:24No, no, no, no, no, no, no!
03:31Adam the Clown, Dead Rising.
03:33Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Stay away from that, Gramps!
03:40In Dead Rising, you spend most of your time mowing down zombies without really thinking twice about it.
03:46There are tons of weapons and crazy ways to take them out, but it never feels that heavy.
03:50Killing a dead person with a toy is more fun than disturbing. That's why Adam the Clown stands out
03:55so much. He's not just another survivor, he's completely unhinged. After you beat him instead
04:01of backing down, he goes out in the most messed up way possible. He literally throws himself into his
04:07own chainsaws, stripping his stomach while laughing like a maniac. It's chaotic, it's disturbing, and almost
04:13as hard to watch as a regular clown show.
04:20Adam Shepard, Silent Hill Homecoming.
04:34Adam Shepard in Silent Hill Homecoming is far from a good dad. He's cold, he's distant, and spends
04:39most of the game either ignoring Alex, our protagonist, or messing him up mentally. Honestly, he's the kind
04:44of guy you'd expect zero sympathy for, but you could watch what happens to him happen to Hitler,
04:49and maybe accidentally let out a poor Hitler man. Near the end, Alex finds him tied between two pillars,
04:55completely helpless. Adam actually apologises, which already feels weird coming from him,
05:00and then things go south fast. Pyramid Head shows up and without hesitation cuts him clean in half with
05:05a massive blade. You don't really see it happen directly, but Alex does, and we see Alex seeing,
05:12and that's disturbing enough.
05:24Needle in the Eye, Dead Space 2.
05:27I remember this. The machine activates the parts of our brain where the marker codes are stored.
05:32The Dead Space games already give a ton of horrible ways to die, but one moment in Dead Space 2
05:37easily stands out as the worst. It happens when Isaac steps into this medical machine that is
05:42very clearly more of a torture machine. He straps himself in and has to carefully line up his eye
05:47with a laser while this needle slowly lowers towards him. It's already stressful, but if you mess
05:53it up, it becomes straight up nightmare fuel. The machine glitches out and instead of stopping,
05:57the needle keeps going, pushing right through his eye. It doesn't cut away either. Oh boy,
06:02does it not cut away. Why on God's green earth does it not cut away?
06:09Eddie's victim's Outlast whistleblower.
06:17I want a family, a legacy, to be the father I never had. While Miles gets a rough ending in
06:25Outlast,
06:26the stuff in the Outlast whistleblower DLC honestly feels even worse. This time you're playing as Weyland
06:31Park, trying to survive the asylum while being hunted by Eddie Gluskin, also known as The Groom. And yeah,
06:37this guy is next level disturbing. He kidnaps male inmates and tries to turn them into his quote,
06:42perfect bride. And this means he has to do some surgery, some special surgery. Okay, he cuts
06:49their off. It's not quick either. It's slow and painful and straight up hard to sit through.
06:53At one point, Weyland is forced to watch the whole process happen to someone else,
06:57and the game does not hold back. In fact, I think in editing, I'll probably have to blur it,
07:01but you're all over YouTube, just look it up.
07:11All Character Deaths Doki Doki Literature Club
07:19There is not a single death in Doki Doki Literature Club that doesn't mess with your head. A lot of
07:24games treat death like it's no big deal, but this one forces you to sit with it. One death moment
07:29forces you to spend time getting to know the characters, building actual connections,
07:33and then the game just hits you with their unalivings in a way that feels way too real.
07:36It completely flips from chill dating sim into full-on psychological horror, and it does it without
07:41warning. Even when you think you're close to fixing things, it doesn't really let you. You're forced to
07:46delete the main character behind it all, and that's just three of the deaths.
07:55Joel The Last of Us Part 2
07:56I have not experienced a death in a video game that made me feel quite as many feelings as Joel.
08:07You know, the main guy everyone loved from The Last of Us. Joel gets taken out insanely early in The
08:13Last of Us Part 2, and it hits like a truck. At that point, you don't even know why Abby
08:16hates him so
08:17much, which makes it feel even more unfair. She doesn't just kill him either, she makes it slow,
08:22and she makes it painful. The worst part is when Ellie shows up. She's held down by Abby's group,
08:27completely helpless, begging them to stop and yelling at Joel to get up, but he can't. Instead,
08:32she's forced to watch Abby finish him off with a golf club in a really brutal way. You get to
08:36feel
08:36every bit of Ellie's panic, Ellie's anger, and disgust. Did you enjoy this video? Check out these other
