00:54Hello and good morning, everyone.
00:57It's still Raya, right?
00:58Anyways, I'm Tasneem Loman and you're watching Top News Podcast with me.
01:03And today we are with Haris Idham Rashid.
01:05You know who it is?
01:06Let's get to know him.
01:07He is the Bersatu Youth Information Chief and also the Division Chief for Balik Pulau Division for Bersatu as well
01:16in Penang.
01:17But he's here today, insya'alam, with me to talk about Bersatu.
01:21Thank you for having me, Tasneem and Sinar Daly.
01:24Okay, hi Haris. Let's get started first before anything else.
01:29How has Raya been for Bersatu?
01:32Alhamdulillah, Raya has been good.
01:35During Ramadan, it was an important month for us.
01:38A lot of rebuilding was done during Ramadan.
01:41And Alhamdulillah, this Raya was really good because at least we have some fresh air.
01:48And we have managed to patch a lot of holes that were left.
01:52So overall, I think it was a satisfactory one.
01:54Was it like actually, I mean, it wasn't such a good start for 2026 for Bersatu, I would say.
01:59Because first it started out with Tan Sri Mouridin's resignation and also Datuk Sri Azmin's resignation as well.
02:07It's like Jen for PN.
02:08And now the expression of Datuk Sri Hamzah as...
02:14But he's still the opposition chief.
02:15Yes, yes.
02:16So like...
02:16That's what it did.
02:17Okay.
02:18Okay.
02:19Let's talk about that after this.
02:20But in general, like going into Ramadan and now coming out of Ramadan with Raya, right?
02:28Was there any change in dynamics for the party itself?
02:32Yes, definitely.
02:34Correctly pointed out.
02:36Towards the end of December, about a week before the year ends,
02:40that was when Tan Sri Mouridin decided to resign and followed by Datuk Sri Azmin and other leaders.
02:47But obviously prior to that, it was the Perlis fiasco that saw the Menteri Besar change
02:52and that shook other things, including the Perikatan National Leadership.
02:56And obviously not long after that, we had our own internal party disciplinary procedures.
03:02Obviously that started long ago.
03:04But for Datuk Sri Hamzah, it was this year.
03:09And it was during Ramadan that the decision was released by the disciplinary board.
03:15And obviously that was the biggest hurdle that the political party is facing or face at that point.
03:24And Alhamdulillah, we had enough time to think about the remedy.
03:29And we have appointed a lot of people into new positions that were left vacant.
03:39So Datuk Sri Hamzah's expulsion, he claims to have the support of the majority of the Bersatu MPs.
03:46We're talking about Ronald Kendi and Mas Imriati, and also Division Chiefs.
03:54As Info Chief of the Youth Wing, how do you respond to the narrative that the party is now fractured
04:01beyond repair?
04:02Well, I can agree that most of Bersatu MPs are showing support to Datuk Sri Hamzah.
04:11But only a handful of them were expelled or suspended.
04:16The rest of them are still Bersatu members.
04:19So let's settle that first.
04:22Obviously, regarding Division Chief, I would say majority are with San Sri Muhyiddin.
04:27Because the latest data that I got to know is about 40 to 50 divisions are affected, but not fully
04:37affected.
04:37Some were fully affected, some were partially affected.
04:40And that's about it.
04:42Obviously, Bersatu has near 200 divisions.
04:46So, in summary, yes, most of the Member of Parliament are close to Datuk Sri Hamzah.
04:52Also, by virtue, he is the Opposition Leader today and has been Opposition Leader over the last few years.
04:59And that has created good bonding.
05:01But in the party where Tan Sri Muhyiddin is leading the party,
05:04the Division Chief are all, mostly, mostly, still with Tan Sri Muhyiddin in good numbers.
05:10Okay, so could you give a number on who's still in Bersatu with Bersatu with Tan Sri Muhyiddin?
05:17Like, in terms of Division Chiefs?
05:19Division Chiefs.
05:20I would say around 160 Division Chiefs in that region.
05:24And one thing good about divisions, even if the Division Chief leaves,
05:31not necessarily that the whole committee is dissolved.
05:36So, most of the division, only the Division Chiefs leaves.
05:40So, we can always pass it to the deputy to take over the helm.
05:44So, I don't think it is a fracture beyond repair.
05:48Definitely, it has created some impact.
05:51But it is not beyond repair.
05:52I think we are repairing it pretty quickly.
05:55And this is also a chance for us to find out talents,
05:59to basically give chance to other people who, before this, never had a chance.
06:04Okay, it's interesting you say that.
06:06Because, obviously, you are planning ahead for something big that is expected to happen.
06:14The general elections, right?
06:16The GE16.
06:17So, the sudden mass resigning and possible dissolving of division sectors,
06:28which you said not everyone, not all, sikit je.
06:32But how do you plan to win GE16 if the machinery at the grassroots is affected or paralyzed?
06:40Alright.
06:41Good question.
06:42So, yes, for the divisions that were badly affected, we have also, we have appointed penyelaras.
06:51Basically, we have dissolved the bahagian and lantik penaja, penyelaras,
06:57to form their own committee members and to strengthen the party again.
07:02So, basically, we do have a replacement and these people are really firming up their team now.
07:09And, as you can imagine, once you get the watikah from President, your motivation is very high now.
07:16And we can see that all the new ketua bahagians that receive the watikah during Ramadan
07:23are really active on the ground to ensure that, to ensure that we don't lose steam on the ground
07:29and we recruit more people to replace other people.
07:32And, fortunately, Bersatu is quite a popular choice among Malays.
07:37So, it's not very difficult to get members into the party.
07:40And, Alhamdulillah, we are seeing good numbers.
07:43I also receive credible information from the headquarters that our membership drive is also showing good results daily
07:52from the online application.
07:54And I think that reflects the new set of ketua bahagians that were appointed recently.
07:59Okay, that sounds nice.
08:01Actually, can we just throw up a little?
08:03Because you were talking about watikah from Tan Sri Mirden, right?
08:06How has its popularity and influence been since, you know, maybe 2026?
08:11Maybe since Perlis' incident happened?
08:14In Bersatu?
08:15Yeah, in Bersatu.
08:16Bersatu, we really respected the decision that we made in 2020, two years ago, 2024.
08:24Okay.
08:25When we had our party elections towards the end of 2024,
08:28unanimously, we agreed to give Tan Sri Mirden a full term mandate as a president,
08:35Datuk Sri Hamzah as deputy president,
08:37and Razee Jideen, Ronald Candy as vice president, and Pesha as well.
08:44So, as a party, we are sticking to that mandate that we have achieved.
08:47We are sticking to that keputusan pemilihan that has come out from the members.
08:53All of these people were uncontested.
08:55That means they received unanimous support from everybody.
08:58So, obviously, we do not wish to rock the boat in the middle of the term,
09:02because that is not easy and not ideal to do.
09:06And let's say if anybody feels that Tan Sri Mirden is no longer fit to become president,
09:11in late 2024, when we had the opportunity to change democratically,
09:16they should have done it there,
09:17instead of raising this question in the middle of the term,
09:20which I think is a bit unfair and maybe we can say that it's an effort to destabilise the party.
09:27Okay, and like, okay, I just remembered something during the General Assembly a few months back,
09:36insya'alam, there was a bit of a fight during Tan Sri Mirden's speech, right?
09:41Not a bit, it was quite a brawl.
09:42All right.
09:43So, what was, I'm not going to touch on the fight,
09:46but I'm going to ask you, like, what was the ending, like, what was the outcome from that?
09:50Like, why were they doing it?
09:52Why suddenly ada bergaduh sikit?
09:54And what was the outcome from what you guys realised?
09:56Especially as InfoChief.
09:58All right.
09:59So, maybe people know about it, maybe people don't know about it,
10:04but it has made its way on social media.
10:07It has gone viral.
10:09One day before the General Assembly, one day before the main General Assembly,
10:13there was a meeting in an Arab restaurant, insya'alam,
10:18to strategise what to do the next day, how to destabilise the party,
10:23how to create a scene during the presidential policy speech.
10:30So, it was well planned.
10:32It was well planned by a group of people that aligned themselves to Dato' Sri Hamzah Zainuddin.
10:38And obviously, that was done by a ketua bahagian that is close to him,
10:42which is Ipoh Barat.
10:44Obviously, it created an atmosphere.
10:48But what they were trying to do is they were trying to stop one particular motion to be passed,
10:53which is to allow Tan Sri Muhyiddin to be bersatu choice for Prime Minister's candidate.
11:00So, obviously, Dato' Sri Hamzah's loyalists do not want that motion to be passed
11:05because they know that in this particular AGM, we will have to decide as a party
11:09who shall we put forward as a PM candidate.
11:12And obviously, that will be determined by Perikatan National Presidential Council towards the end.
11:17But as a party, we have to put forward our name.
11:19So, obviously, Dato' Sri Hamzah's loyalists think that if the motion is passed,
11:26it becomes official and then it becomes difficult to change
11:29and it is difficult for them to bring up Dato' Sri Hamzah.
11:32Therefore, all this commotion and all these efforts were towards stopping the motion from being passed.
11:39Okay. With everything that's happened, right?
11:42Is Tan Sri Muhyiddin still the party's choice of PM now?
11:46Yes, definitely.
11:49Obviously, we stick to the AGM decision.
11:52And the AGM decision was supported by members.
11:56Members receive it well.
11:58It was a unanimous decision as well.
12:01And not just that, we also rely on datas that are available to us.
12:05Okay.
12:05Especially research from Institute Masa and also other institutes, other bodies that came up with a similar result,
12:14which is among Bersatu Leaders.
12:16Let's talk about among Bersatu Leaders.
12:17Because Tan Sri Muhyiddin is still the most popular to be the PM candidate among Bersatu Leaders.
12:24So, obviously, we have past leaders that we have to consider and we have other leaders out there.
12:29But as a party, we have to look at who do we have in our party and who is the
12:34most popular that we should put forward.
12:37So, that was what we saw.
12:39So, do you feel Tan Sri Muhyiddin is way more popular than Dato' Sri Hamzah Zainuddin in terms of Malaysian
12:44voters?
12:45I believe so.
12:47So, because obviously Dato' Sri Hamzah only became minister during Najib's time, SKPD and HGP.
12:57And then obviously during Tan Sri Muhyiddin's time, he was not in the cabinet during Mahathir's time.
13:03He was in the cabinet during Ismail Sabri's time.
13:05So, I would say that his tenure as the minister is not long enough for Malaysians to really relate to
13:12him and get to know this person, to talk about being a PM candidate and stuff like that.
13:17I'm sure Tan Sri Muhyiddin on that score will be more favourable, especially with how he managed COVID-19.
13:29Obviously, opinions are divided on that matter.
13:31But I'm pretty sure now we can say that Malaysia was quite successful in it.
13:36Our vaccination rate was pretty high among other countries.
13:39Okay.
13:40Just one more on Dato' Sri Hamzah.
13:43Do you see him as becoming the Prime Minister, especially since he's been the opposition leader for the past few
13:49years?
13:49Obviously, he needs a political party.
13:51You need to have a big political party if you want to be Prime Minister.
13:54But personality-wise, as a person, regardless of party apa?
14:00Yeah, I mean, like, I'm sure he has a lot of good credentials.
14:06Okay.
14:07Let's get that first.
14:08But obviously, I think there are a lot more things to improve.
14:11I think his popularity has to go up more.
14:16And I think his media presence has to go up more.
14:20Okay.
14:20And all those things.
14:21But obviously, the basic skills of a politician, he has it.
14:24But a lot more to be done as far as the popularity is concerned and how you relate to Malaysians
14:29in general.
14:30Okay.
14:30All right.
14:31Okay.
14:31Going back to Perikatan National now.
14:34PN leaders, past leaders, okay, past leaders recently compared Muhyiddin's resignation as PN chairman to losing a bus driver.
14:43Now that Dr. Sam has officially taken the will of PN, has Bersatu effectively been relegated to a junior partner?
14:53No, I don't think so.
14:55So, everybody has to understand that PAS is a bigger party than Bersatu as far as MP seats are concerned.
15:03Okay.
15:03So, from day one, since 2022, Bersatu has offered PAS to take over that position, to fill up that position
15:12because as the biggest political party in opposition, rightly so, you become the opposition leader.
15:18Okay.
15:18It's just that they feel like Latour Sri Hamzat Zanuddin was more suitable and maybe represents a more national image,
15:29national approach.
15:29So, but obviously for the last four or three years also, it's quite difficult to manage PN because you also
15:36have to remember that PAS is bigger than you.
15:38So, now I think we have, we have rationalized everything.
15:43We have compromised certain things because obviously in a coalition, to make it work, you need to have good compromises
15:48among parties inside there.
15:51So, Bersatu has realized that okay, maybe it's time to give PAS to try what can Dr. Sam deliver.
16:00And I don't think we are a junior partner now.
16:03In Perikatan National, everything is decided based on all four consensus.
16:07It's not about being 3-1 or stuff like that.
16:11So, everybody must agree on certain things before it becomes a decision.
16:14So, all parties have equal say.
16:16But definitely last time Tan Sri Mujain was the chairman.
16:19Now, Dr. Sam is the chairman.
16:22And yeah, so that's the compromise that we have made.
16:25How is Dr. Sam?
16:27Well, good.
16:27I mean, I'm sure, I'm sure public perception towards him is pretty good because he's a very different kind of
16:34a PAS leader, a technocrat, a professional aeronautical engineer or something like that.
16:39And obviously, his leadership in PN Terengganu and in PAS Terengganu have shown tremendous results in state elections.
16:48It is unprecedented, 100% of the seats won by Perikatan National.
16:52So, obviously, we have to give credit where it's due.
16:55And I would love to see those kind of dominance in Perikatan National, federal level as well.
17:02And I think we have to be fair to Dr. Sam.
17:06We have to give him time.
17:07Of course, he is new to that position.
17:11But we wish him all the best.
17:12And Bersatu is there to support him.
17:13Okay.
17:16Where does Bersatu play now with Perikatan National, especially ahead of elections?
17:22Because Bersatu needs to be a more moderate wing because PAS comes off more religious kind.
17:27Correct.
17:28Not saying that they don't get votes from non-Muslims or non-Malays, but it's just how perception works, right?
17:34Yes.
17:34So, where does Bersatu stand now in ensuring the moderateness comes into play?
17:41And also, I feel like sometimes people overlook Gerakan being there.
17:47Yeah.
17:48All right.
17:49You're right.
17:50Obviously, PAS is known as a right-wing party.
17:55And Bersatu is more nationalist, more center-right party.
18:00Of course, that is our critical role that we play in Perikatan National.
18:04So, we will still play that role or probably now even more effectively because we have to make sure that
18:12Perikatan National gives the right balance that Malaysia needs,
18:16which is you have the right-wing PAS that can accommodate their segment of voters.
18:22And we have to also accommodate our segment of voters, which are the urban, the sub-urban, and stuff like
18:29that.
18:29And obviously, the issues are also different.
18:31The issues that PAS champion and the issues that we champion.
18:34Talking about Gerakan, yes.
18:37Obviously, they are a good partner to us.
18:39They have been partners for a long time through thick and thin.
18:43Obviously, election results have not been favorable.
18:46But obviously, that is also due to the DAP dominance.
18:49Similarly, how Amanah is struggling is also due to past dominance.
18:53So, obviously, Gerakan is also finding solutions on how to end DAP's dominance.
19:00But I am pretty sure that this coming election would be more favorable to Gerakan
19:05because I think DAP has shown their true colors to the Chinese community.
19:10And I have been hearing from the ground that the Chinese community are prepared to change slightly, if not a
19:17lot.
19:17Wow. Wow, that's interesting. Could you tell us more about that?
19:20Well, obviously, I mean, like, DAP themselves are worried about what they are doing in government.
19:27That's why they are pushing for a lot of things.
19:29That's why they are putting ultimatum to Prime Minister.
19:31By June, they have to decide whether or not they want to stay in government
19:34because they know that the ground is different now compared to last time.
19:38And Sabah state election has shown a bit of that.
19:42Obviously, Sabah cannot be seen as an overall Malaysian picture
19:48because obviously it's a Borneo state.
19:50But still, you can read between the lines there.
19:55And they know it too.
19:57But obviously, to say that Gerakan or MCA is ready to take over DAP seats is a bit overstretched.
20:06But I think some seats will be affected.
20:09Okay.
20:09Yeah.
20:09And touching on MCA and MIC, there was a lot of talk of MIC joining you guys just weeks ago.
20:16So, apa jadik at situ?
20:19Yeah, obviously, MIC wanted...
20:21The talk of MIC joining Peringatan National started way, way back.
20:25Way before, yeah.
20:26Way before, way back.
20:27So, basically, that was when Tan Sri Muhyiddin was helming Peringatan National.
20:32And obviously, when we have change of leadership, we're talking about chairmanship of Peringatan National.
20:37When you have the change of chairmanship, obviously, it's also a change of direction to an extent.
20:42And obviously, political parties like MIC and other political parties will have to re-evaluate their position
20:50and where they are in this.
20:52And I see that they are thinking about it still.
20:56They are reviewing that decision.
20:58And I think they need more time to really assess the whole situation now.
21:03If they do join Peringatan National, do you think they have more chances in contesting for the elections
21:11than staying with Barisan National?
21:13I believe so.
21:15Because if they join Peringatan National, number one, we will be a more multiracial Peringatan National, definitely.
21:21Obviously, now we have MIBP and Keratkan, but MIC, the grand old Indian party, will give us more balance in
21:27that matter.
21:29Secondly, obviously, we will have more seats to be given to them.
21:33Because we do not have partners like PKR and DAP that has a lot of non-Malay leaders in it
21:38that they have to accommodate.
21:40In Perikatan National, of course, we have a lot of rooms for non-Malayers to contest.
21:46So I think a party like MIC would really benefit joining PN.
21:50But obviously, they have other considerations.
21:54Alright.
21:55Okay, I want to do a little throwback looking back at Sheraton Move.
21:58I know it's a bit controversial, especially when Bersatu wants to talk about the Sheraton Move.
22:03But I think it's been six years.
22:05I think it's time, Hai Tai, we start opening some cans.
22:09Yeah.
22:09Okay?
22:10So Bersatu was the kingmaker that shaped Malaysia's political situation at the time.
22:15Now, six years later, it seems that, does it seem like you're losing the unity factor of Bersatu?
22:24You know Bersatu, unity is the same translation, right?
22:28Do you feel the party has lost its original DNA omission since it was formed?
22:33Well, I don't think it has lost.
22:37But I think what Bersatu is facing is a journey that any new party would face.
22:42Okay.
22:43Obviously, we are only nine years old.
22:46And basically, as a political party, that is still an infant political party.
22:51We are still building a culture in the party.
22:54We are still building a discipline in the party.
22:56And obviously, PKR also faced this episode when they were growing last time.
23:03They also had a fleet of people left their party, jumped to the party, betrayed the party.
23:09So now, we are facing those challenges and we are managing those challenges.
23:15And I think it's a political journey for a political party.
23:18Obviously, Bersatu have our niche.
23:20We are clear.
23:22We are a national Malay party.
23:26Obviously, we have been given a pretty good mandate by voters.
23:30And I still think that besides UMNO, we are also in the game as far as the Malay areas and
23:38Malay voters are concerned.
23:39And not just Bersatu, because obviously, we enter election as Perikatan National.
23:44I think the value proposition that Perikatan National offers is really good.
23:50And obviously, hence why the number of seats that we want were also convincing.
23:58Okay.
23:59Okay.
23:59Understand.
24:00But also, a lot of critics are saying that Bersatu is just a temporary party for UMNO leavers, former UMNO
24:06men.
24:07And I mean, it's hard to run away from that because Tansi Muhyiddin, Datuk Sri Hamzad, they're all from UMNO,
24:12kan?
24:12Correct.
24:13You were from PKR.
24:15Oh, yes.
24:15Yeah, I was from PKR.
24:16Okay.
24:18So, how do you convince your Armada Youth Wing?
24:22Like, no, this is just, like you said, it's just part of the journey of becoming bigger and stronger, right?
24:30Like, you need to reinforce this whole idea.
24:33And how do you convince them it's not just a vehicle of convenience?
24:38Yeah.
24:39I think one thing that we can prove is Bersatu was not government all the way.
24:46Okay.
24:46So, we had a lot of opposition days.
24:49And let's say if this party is all about power, it's all about being government, we would not have survived
24:56until today.
24:59We were opposition the first two years that we were established.
25:02And obviously, we took over power.
25:04And we stayed throughout the term under Tun Mahathir, under Tansi Muhyiddin, under Ismail Sabri.
25:10But now, under this leadership, we are playing our role as opposition.
25:14And we are entering the fourth year.
25:16And not just that, we are also a position without funds for our MPs.
25:20And we are still staying put.
25:22Obviously, we lost some.
25:23We lost about five or six people who can't withstand the pressure.
25:27But the mass majority are still with us and are still championing the party's mandate.
25:31That's number one.
25:32Number two, do not forget that MACC has also frozen our party's account for the last four years or so.
25:41And obviously, we do not have any sort of luxury or any sort of comfort level.
25:46So, we are actually running at a very, very low budget and everything is so economical.
25:50And if anybody thinks that Bersatu is a party to accommodate people with high material interests, it's not the place
26:00for you.
26:00And I'm glad that we are still intact with this kind of size after four years of difficult situations.
26:07So, that is one proof that the party is here to stay because we have gone through tough moments and
26:15we have not collapsed.
26:16That's actually really positive, especially after the elections, G-15 lagi, kan?
26:23Yeah.
26:23Okay.
26:25As chief as well, how do you plan to re-engage young voters?
26:28Because, I mean, I think people are more aware of politically, but are they aware on who to vote, how
26:35to engage, to prioritize policies?
26:38How do you plan to, like, reignite this?
26:42Of course, with the young voters, obviously, we have to really examine the shortfalls of this current Marani government.
26:51Obviously, there are many.
26:52The cost of living is skyrocketing, especially with the oil prices that has gone up significantly.
26:59Obviously, the subsidized rate is still there, but obviously, the literage is reduced by 100 liters, or one-third.
27:06So, we have to explain to young voters, or voters in general, that Prikata National will be a very rayad
27:15-centric government.
27:16Obviously, our policies will be very rayad-friendly and less burdensome to people.
27:23And I think another thing that we also have to give enough emphasis is we need to understand, or we
27:32need to find a plan on how to enlarge the economic cake.
27:36Because I think that is the issue now.
27:38The economic cake is not wide enough to be shared equally to everybody.
27:43So, these are the things that I think we need to convince the voters, especially the younger voters.
27:49And I think that is recognized by all political parties, that this is the segment that we really have to
27:56convince.
27:57How do you...
27:57Okay, it's interesting that you're talking about cake, right?
28:00Even Datu Srinajib has said, like, everybody deserves a cake, right?
28:06What would be a policy that would distinguish bersatu with the unity government,
28:13and maybe even with Barsan National, if they were to contest themselves, in GE16, in the coming GE16?
28:21What would that policy that would ensure everybody gets the cake?
28:26Yeah.
28:26I think it's difficult to pinpoint one particular policy that we're going to do.
28:32But I think the team for the policies would be friendly to the people.
28:39And secondly, I think we will give an image to the voters, like how we were when we were leading
28:49the government.
28:50Like how we managed the economy when we were leading the government,
28:53and how we managed COVID when we were leading the government.
28:57Obviously, COVID was difficult, because it was a crisis.
29:01At the same time, we have to be responsible to our economy,
29:04because at the end of the day, we do not want to suffer so much from it.
29:07And I think we roll out our economic plans carefully.
29:11We roll out our aids properly.
29:15We manage to make sure that the needy get what they need to get in order to stay afloat.
29:22And we really help businesses to stay afloat during that tough moment.
29:26And that is seen today, where businesses are still around, people can still afford.
29:31So I think that would be an example that we want to put forward to people,
29:36that we are going to be that kind of government.
29:39Because if we talk about one particular policy, it's a bit tight and rigid that way.
29:43So I think that would be the theme of the policies that we're going to bring,
29:47which is very Raya-centric, and a policy that really studies the pulse of the people.
29:53So that would be the theme.
29:55Okay, just a quick one before we end to the final question.
29:57I just remember that I wanted to ask because you're the youth chief.
30:01What's your take on the social media ban for 16-year-olds and below?
30:06The possibility of being of the social media ban?
30:09Well, obviously, it was a huge debate in parliament.
30:16But I think there are a lot of cases that is happening around that age that is due to social
30:23media.
30:24And I think normal restrictions did not work before this.
30:29I think it's okay to give it a try and see whether or not the results changes as far as
30:36social media-related crimes are concerned regarding this particular age.
30:40But obviously, for example, let's say if the society matures quickly enough, and I'm sure we can review that back.
30:48But I think for now, I think we should see the results.
30:52See the results of the ban?
30:53Yeah.
30:54Like make it into a test trial?
30:56Yeah, and see whether or not we are seeing the numbers that we're expecting, the drop in cases as far
31:05as social media cases are concerned, pedophilia is concerned, and all those things.
31:11So those things have to be monitored closely to see whether or not the change in law is showing any
31:17results or outcome.
31:19Okay, so the last question before we end today.
31:23Okay, if Bersatu loses significant seats in the next election due to internal splits, what is the next move for
31:34you as Information Chief for the Youth Wing?
31:38Obviously, obviously, touch wood, if we lose significant number of seats, obviously the whole party must reflect on themselves, and
31:49obviously the top leadership must take responsibility.
31:53That is standard practice everywhere, and obviously we will have to know where did we come short, and repair it
32:01as soon as possible.
32:03But as far as the Youth Wing is concerned, obviously we are also part of the leadership of the party.
32:10Obviously, we helm positions, obviously we will also have to reassess what have we done wrong, and obviously after a
32:20loss, it's very important to know how to recover from the loss.
32:24It's very important to know where you went wrong so that you would know how to rectify.
32:28So I think that should be done quite immediately, if we lose, but I hope we don't, I hope we
32:35do well, and I hope we form the next government.
32:38Will we be seeing you in Parliament as well, nanti balik pulau?
32:41Hopefully, I mean like I'm currently the Division Chief, so I'm working very hard to ensure that the missionary is
32:47strong.
32:47I'm working very hard to ensure that the public relationship is good.
32:54And whether or not I contest, definitely, it's a hope.
32:58It's a hope, yes, it's my hope, but it's also, it's basically Perikatan National, and Bersatu will decide on who
33:04is the best candidate to contest there.
33:06But now what is confirmed is I'm the Division Chief, and I have a lot of work to be done,
33:11and that is ongoing.
33:12Okay, alright, okay. Thank you so much, Haris, for being on Sinar Daily, for coming here.
33:18I hope you guys had a good time listening to Haris, talking about Bersatu and what's happening.
33:24I think that was very unfiltered of Haris.
33:26Come back to other Bersatu leaders who are a bit shy to come on camera.
33:30Thank you so much, Haris, for coming.
33:32Thank you, everyone, for watching.
