00:00Now, we're going to move in to an NFL mock draft that I want to do differently.
00:05Because everyone's got their thoughts and opinions and all of that.
00:08And you know me, I'm like, take a look at where the money is going.
00:11So this is where the money...
00:12You watched The Wire.
00:13Yes.
00:13And when they said, follow the money, you said, okay, bet.
00:16That, I mean, regardless of what field you're in, that is not a bad idea.
00:20So obviously, Fernando Mendoza is going to go number one.
00:26Maybe.
00:28Definitely.
00:29All right.
00:30So, pick number two.
00:33And we're two weeks away from the draft.
00:35Two weeks from today, we'll be taking over all the Pluckers in DFW.
00:41I think this is starting to shift.
00:44But as of now, it's still Arvel Reese.
00:47Yeah.
00:47But that really feels like it's starting to shift back towards David Bailey.
00:52And it kind of feels like it was Arvel Reese, right?
00:55And then it was Bailey for just a minute.
00:57And then it swung back to Arvel Reese.
00:59I think it's going to eventually swing back to David Bailey.
01:01So keep your eyes out on that.
01:02What's really interesting is after the combine and then after a couple of personal visits to Pro Day, that's when
01:10it felt like Arvel Reese got the highest hype.
01:12Yeah.
01:12Because all the media people were like, have y'all not watched this guy?
01:16Why do y'all keep saying these things about him?
01:19Ryan Clark.
01:19Yeah.
01:20And Luz Riddick.
01:21All these guys were like, hey.
01:22So that really did drive that back up.
01:24And then the other heads are sitting there going, all right.
01:27David Bailey was still good, though.
01:30Nobody was knocking Bailey.
01:32Reese just got the hype.
01:33Now, we move to pick number three.
01:36If Arvel Reese is off the board, then the odds say David Bailey is pick number three.
01:44He's phenomenal.
01:46He really is.
01:47Do you like him better than Reese?
01:49There are things I like about him more than Reese.
01:53Sometimes I've felt like I've been burned by Ohio State guys that play like that.
01:58Well, you better get over that because we need to draft somebody from Ohio State.
02:02No, no, no.
02:03Ohio State ends is what I was talking about because sometimes, you know, we look at the Boses and the
02:08Chase Youngs and those guys that you're like, huh, what is that?
02:12But he's a little bit different player.
02:13So, yeah, no, I like Bailey just a little bit more than Reese.
02:17All right.
02:17We move forward to pick number four.
02:19And I think this is where you get your first real advantage Dallas Cowboys pick because the betting odds say
02:27the play here is Jeremiah Love, which it's great to have him off the board because I know some Cowboys
02:33fans are panicked that he would be here.
02:35He would be there at like 12 and the Cowboys would be like, oh, that's the biggest name left on
02:40the board in terms of like marquee value.
02:42We got to take him.
02:43You don't want him.
02:44And it hopefully pushes more defensive players down the board.
02:48What have you felt in the past that the Cowboys have passed on that name and gone with what they
02:54needed or that they have that they have gone with the name?
02:58Because I feel like the last few years or that that name wasn't even there for them.
03:01Yeah, I feel like that might be the case is usually the names have been off the board before they
03:05have a shot.
03:06And that's not always a bad thing, right?
03:07Because that's what happened with CeeDee Lamb.
03:09And I feel like we're all pretty.
03:11Oh, yeah.
03:12Good job.
03:13So, like, it doesn't have to be a bad thing.
03:15All right.
03:15We move to pick number five.
03:19Pick number five, Sonny Stiles.
03:21Yep.
03:22All right.
03:22So, Alec and Corey just going off the numbers so far.
03:27Mendoza one, Reese two, Bailey three, Jeremiah Love four, Sonny Stiles five.
03:33Any surprises there?
03:34I have to admit pick five surprises me a little bit because it seems like people have been fading Sonny
03:40Stiles in the last week or so.
03:41This is interesting because I am looking at the beast, Kevin.
03:45Okay.
03:45Brugler doesn't.
03:46He has Bailey seven as his seventh player.
03:48Oh, does he have Reese one?
03:49He has Reese one.
03:51And, look, we always trust our friend Dane Brugler.
03:54Dane Brugler is a draft genius.
03:57So, he has downs at five.
04:00Now, again, that's not his mock draft.
04:03Yeah, I hear.
04:03That is his top, his overall board.
04:06So, this is not much of a surprise, though, due to need.
04:09Yeah.
04:09Because, you know, need is what it is.
04:11Alec, any surprises on the betting odds so far in the top five?
04:17Jeremiah Love intrigues me a little bit that high.
04:21I could totally see it because he is one of the best players in this draft.
04:25But positional value, especially at four, I feel like there's bigger needs for Tennessee to address there.
04:32I think there's impact players that make a little bit more sense.
04:35But they are taking probably, at that point, the highest rated player on their board, I would assume.
04:40So, that shocks me just a little bit.
04:43All right.
04:44Well, if that shocked you just a little bit, get ready.
04:47Oh, no.
04:47Because there are multiple picks, six through ten, that I was like, wait, what?
04:54And let's start with pick number six.
04:56Maybe you're surprised by this.
04:58Maybe you are not.
05:00The betting favorite right now, Carnell Tate.
05:03So, the first wide receiver goes off the board.
05:06Once again, I think he'll go higher than 12, I would assume, either way.
05:11But that feels like a win for the Cowboys.
05:15Then things get very interesting.
05:18And Shadour Sanders does need a receiver.
05:20Why?
05:21So, he can throw to the sideline?
05:23Or whoever the ninth quarterback they have.
05:25It's obviously better than whoever they claim to be the starter.
05:28I'm still bummed out they didn't get Kirk Cousins.
05:31So, okay, fair.
05:33With the seventh pick, things get a little wild.
05:36You know who the betting odd is to be the seventh pick?
05:39Jeremiah Love.
05:40Well, guess what?
05:40He's off the board.
05:42You know who's next?
05:42Sonny Stiles.
05:43Guess what?
05:44He's off the board.
05:45You know who's next?
05:46Carnell Tate.
05:47Guess what?
05:47He's off the board.
05:48And I think pick seven is kind of a catch-all in case there is a wacky pick that nobody
05:54expects.
05:54And they're like, well, one of those will get gobbled up by them.
05:56So, then it is Mansoor Delane that's going to go pick number seven.
06:03I know.
06:04It hurts.
06:05He's off the board.
06:07Yeah.
06:07You're probably not going to love what happens from here because then we move to pick number eight.
06:13Betting favorite, once again, Carnell Tate.
06:15So, what you're really learning right there is people in the know who are putting money on this do not
06:20see Carnell Tate dropping out of the top eight.
06:24That's my number one takeaway.
06:25One of these teams is going to need this receiver.
06:27Exactly.
06:28Or somebody is going to make a trade to make that happen.
06:31Especially with those three teams right there.
06:33Cleveland, Washington, New Orleans.
06:35Yeah.
06:35All three of them definitely could use a receiver.
06:38With Tate, obviously, Cleveland being an Ohio State kid, they'd love that.
06:43But Washington could definitely use it.
06:46I think they obviously need a little more defense, secondary help than that.
06:50And then New Orleans, they'd love to have something like that.
06:54So, that makes a lot of sense of what's going on there.
06:56Pick number eight, Tate favored once again.
06:59So, like I said, he's not falling out of the top eight, it would appear.
07:03And then Reuben Bain.
07:05So, Reuben Bain goes off the board at pick number eight.
07:08So, and I promise things are about to get weird.
07:11Fernando Mendoza, Arvel Reese, David Bailey, Jeremiah Love, Sonny Stiles,
07:16Carnell Tate, Mansoor Delane, and Reuben Bain.
07:18How are y'all feeling about that top eight?
07:21It does not feel as though maybe it's playing its way towards the Cowboys.
07:24So, Bain would be the favorite at Kansas City if Carnell Tate's gone.
07:29Okay.
07:30Or favorite for a trade.
07:32Well, I hate losing Bain there.
07:36I really hate losing Bain there.
07:38Delane's gone.
07:39Caleb Downs is still there.
07:41I hate losing Bain.
07:43I like seeing that Tate's gone.
07:44But what's happening right now, Kevin, is sounds like you've got two offensive linemen
07:49that are falling in your lap right now.
07:51And one of them I freaking love.
07:54Like, Feneau's fantastic.
07:55I love the one out of Miami, Magoa.
07:59Yeah.
08:00I love him as a player.
08:02And then, oh no, is there another guard there?
08:05Okay.
08:05All right.
08:06So, let's wait on this.
08:07It sounds like offensive linemen are falling to the Cowboys, Kevin.
08:11We're trading down.
08:12I've already decided.
08:13Oh.
08:14I don't know if you should have made that decision just quite yet.
08:17Pick number nine.
08:19Bain.
08:20Delane.
08:20Tate.
08:21All at the top of the board.
08:22They're all gone.
08:24So, it's Francis Malagoa that goes pick number nine.
08:29But what I want to do is go ahead and skip ahead to pick number 10 because this absolutely
08:36floored me.
08:38Who do you think is the favorite to be taken right now at pick number 10?
08:44And I realize that's the Bengals.
08:46That does not mean it's going to stay the Bengals.
08:48And in fact, I would be shocked if they didn't move this pick based on this.
08:53Makai Lemon.
08:56Ty Simpson right now.
09:00What?
09:01This was astonishing to me.
09:04And I'm not going to lie, Alec.
09:05This was a big part of the reason why I wanted to do the segment just like this.
09:08This would be a stunning turn of events to me.
09:12No, it wouldn't.
09:13No?
09:14I think this is at the pick, right?
09:16Not the player?
09:18So, this is not the team.
09:20Not the team.
09:21So, here's why this is kind of interesting to me.
09:24It's Cincinnati who has Joe Burrow.
09:26They don't need another quarterback right now, right?
09:29Or do they?
09:30I don't think so.
09:32He might be injured.
09:33He's always injured.
09:35But Miami's next.
09:37If the Jets really wanted Ty Simpson, they might be convinced that Miami...
09:44I know they invested in Malik Willis, and now they believe in the Malik ride.
09:47Yeah, that's not going to work, dude.
09:48Okay.
09:49Wow.
09:50I could totally see Miami saying, I know we have 18 different backup quarterbacks right now
09:55and all these guys.
09:57But, Kevin, there might be a possibility where Cincinnati trades back and the Jets jump up
10:03there and try and take them so Miami doesn't.
10:05I'm not 1,000% certain, but I can see that scenario playing out.
10:09All right.
10:10So, Alec...
10:10But that makes sense that you're floored by it because you hate Ty Simpson.
10:13No, not that.
10:14I just feel like you have not heard that chatter whatsoever.
10:17Gotcha.
10:17So, Alec, they strictly, off the betting odds, top 10 goes like this.
10:22Mendoza, Reese, Bailey, Love, Styles at 5, Tate, Delane, Bain, Malgoa at 9, and Simpson
10:31at 10.
10:32That means the Cowboys are sitting there at 12 with Downs and McCoy still available.
10:38Do you feel like you're all set at pick 12?
10:42I feel like you are, and I hope that the top end of the draft goes like this.
10:46I don't really see it.
10:47Like, I don't see Kansas City going offense at all at No. 9.
10:51Like, I think it makes more sense for them to go defense.
10:53I do like Corey's idea, though, of somebody jumping up to 10 for Ty Simpson.
10:57I think that's still totally in play.
11:00But, yeah, I think you're going to see a receiver go inside the top 10, if not two.
11:05I think that people are kind of bluffing about how they don't like this class as much, hoping
11:11that their guy is still going to be available.
11:13Alec, let me ask you a question about that, then.
11:15What if I said two pass catchers go in the top 10, not two wide receivers, and it's Tate
11:21and Sadiq?
11:22I could see that.
11:23That's the only way I would want Kansas City to go offense, is if they go Sadiq to be the
11:28eventual successor to Travis Kelsey.
11:32That's going to be one of my hot draft predictions.
11:34I think Sadiq's going to find his way in the top 10.
11:36And can you imagine, like, let's say Sadiq is drafted, and he is that one that replaces
11:40Kelsey.
11:40Because, Kelsey, you said it's a three-year deal, but it's likely a one-year deal.
11:44It's a one-year deal, yeah.
11:45And so, like, he gives one year to be like, hey, here's how I do it.
11:48Good luck, man.
11:49Yeah.
11:49And then you got that dude burning down the field for Patrick Mahomes.
11:53Like, that would be insane.
11:55Here's the scenario, though, Kevin, because there's one name you haven't announced.
11:59And I don't know who the betting favorite is right now, but I've told you to go ahead
12:03and give up on this guy.
12:04I told you not to worry about this anymore.
12:06I said, just don't get your heart broken by getting your hopes up.
12:10That's what I've been trying to elaborate to everybody out there.
12:12Yeah.
12:13Don't get all worked up over it.
12:14That being said, one of my big fears, because Broad has brought it up, is that Caleb Downs
12:23is there.
12:24And the Cowboys go, we got our eye on somebody else.
12:29That is a huge fear of mine that they would actually, that they would do something like
12:34that.
12:34So that would make me really sad, because I think he's an easy top five pick in this draft,
12:41just in terms of talent.
12:43But let me ask you this.
12:44So I'm going to swap out two of these picks.
12:46Okay.
12:47So we stick with the top eight.
12:49Mendoza, Reese, Bailey, Love, Styles, Tate, Delane, and Bain.
12:56But then at nine and ten, I swap it out.
12:59And instead, I go McCoy and Downs, or vice versa.
13:04So I told you the betting odds tell you that McCoy and Downs will be available at 11.
13:09So you feel like the Cowboys would get one of two players that you think would be, we
13:13think would be, a good fit.
13:15But now I say, forget that.
13:17McCoy and Downs are off the board.
13:20So you're now getting to pick number 11, and it feels like the vast majority of players
13:26that the Cowboys are interested are off the board.
13:29If I could find a way to trade back a few spots, I'd be supremely comfortable taking
13:34Thienemann.
13:35Okay.
13:35Just a few spots back.
13:36I don't even have to go that far back.
13:38Sure, sure.
13:39But Thienemann would definitely be an option there.
13:41But at that point, I don't have a dude I'd love.
13:44I don't have anybody I'd love.
13:46And so I might have to settle for an offensive lineman if I'm going best player available.
13:51And that would kill the whole vibe of, we've got to get a defensive player.
13:55If you've got an offensive lineman, which they don't act like they want it all.
13:59They're like, their tackles are good.
14:00What are y'all talking about?
14:01So I don't need that necessarily.
14:04So, I mean, I have to, maybe I do have to take Keldrick Falk that high and then hope for
14:11the best a little later down the road and maybe a C.J. Allen's there.
14:14That's not my favorite draft.
14:15Yeah.
14:16That's not my favorite draft at all.
14:17Well, what is not my favorite thing that continues to happen?
14:21I see all of you on the Frankel and Frankel injury attorney text line 877-881-1053.
14:27The fan, or 105-3.
14:29Oh, what about Angel Reese?
14:30Is she going to go in the top 10?
14:31When are you going to talk about that trade?
14:33That was three days ago.
14:34Yeah.
14:34How is Chicago going to use those picks?
14:36You talk about it every time.
14:36I know.
14:38I see all of you texting, and I can't believe they're from so many different numbers.
14:43Oh, I can.
14:43What did the betting odds say about her getting traded to Atlanta?
14:46Oh, you guys.
14:48We're the KNC Masterpiece right here on 105.3 The Fan.
14:51We're the KNC Masterpiece right here on 105.3 The Fan.
