00:00Raise your hand, we'll come to you.
00:02Come on, James.
00:03Mikel, have you come back down to birth yet?
00:07Because of my jump, you mean, yeah?
00:08It was quite high.
00:09I know, I've just been told.
00:12It was a phenomenal moment.
00:13We talked before the game to play with that relentless desire to win a reaction
00:19and to have the conviction that we're going to find a way to do it.
00:23And the effort, the quality, the commitment that the players put in was sensational.
00:29And then he ended up in a manner that probably none of us expected.
00:33And it was one of the best moments that I think we lived together at the Emirates.
00:36You were bringing on Max Diamonds, apparently.
00:40You know, one of the Emirates players, a player-brasser.
00:43But in that moment, when you go back to anyone, what's going through your head?
00:46What did you say?
00:47Probably no head, I had a gut feeling.
00:49And yesterday we were training in the last few days.
00:51And I had a gut feeling that it was a moment for him.
00:55And probably it's because he doesn't seem to be faced by the occasion or the moment
01:01or the context of the opponent.
01:03He just plays so naturally.
01:06He makes decisions to make things happen.
01:09And what he delivered, it was incredible.
01:12There are moments and seasons, I think, about Reece Nelson's goal against Bournemouth a couple of years ago.
01:18Do you feel like those moments? Do you feel like this is a really big moment?
01:22It is big because you put so much passion and effort always into this, which is our passion.
01:29And when you turn around and you see the bench and those eyes just, you know, with that happiness, that
01:36joy,
01:36that you almost not believing what has just happened.
01:41It makes all the sense in the world for what we do and the difficult moments that we go through.
01:46And the reaction of the bench as well.
01:49When I see everybody so willing to and so generally happy about the team winning in the manner that we
01:55did it,
01:56it's so special.
01:57Quickly, I know there's going to be a lot of attention on Max and also on Victor for scoring the
02:00goal.
02:01And your other substitute, Derek Caffier, came on his involvement in Pivotal as well.
02:06All of them.
02:07Gaby Mosque has to come in when Julian was out.
02:11And I think it's been the theme of the season.
02:14I think the impact of all the finishers have played is the reason why we are here, basically.
02:20And that says a lot about the people that we have in that dressing room.
02:23Because sometimes my decision, maybe they are not right or they are not fair.
02:26They take it in the right way with only one objective, which is to help the team to win.
02:33I just wondered what you said to Max before you came on.
02:36Is it more kind of instruction stuff or did you say go play with freedom, go do your thing?
02:41Go and do your thing and win at the game.
02:43The same with Victor and to Martinelli.
02:46I said these are the moments in the season when something special has to happen.
02:51And he knows he has the ability, which I have to give him the opportunity and he will deliver.
02:56Does it have the opportunity to change the kind of emotional temperature within the squad?
03:03You know, you have these moments that make you feel there's magic in the air.
03:06And, you know, it's been tough for the last couple of months.
03:09So do you think that this can change how the squad feels about themselves?
03:12I think it's been incredible the last couple of months.
03:15It's been sensational.
03:16I mean, we are in every competition.
03:18We are competing in every single game.
03:20Like it's the last one.
03:22And yeah, some that will be better.
03:25Some other times exceptional.
03:27Some other times not that good.
03:28But that relentless desire to win that I feel in the team is just one of the best things that,
03:36in my opinion, this team has.
03:45I don't know.
03:47I think at the end the decision that you made has to be delivered.
03:53If you feel them, if you don't feel it, I think it's not right.
03:57And you just have to see him train every single day, honestly.
04:00Some of the things that he does is like, he does it against these defenders.
04:04You know, in my opinion, some of the best in the world.
04:06So he can do it against anybody else.
04:08And the doubt is always.
04:09Yeah, but he's 16 and the crowd and the pressure and the expectations.
04:12But he doesn't seem to be faced very much about that.
04:16And he had an incredible moment to all of us.
04:20Do you think you sort of trust your gut?
04:22Like, would you have made a call of that in your first year as a manager manager?
04:27I don't know.
04:28Probably, I don't know, easy to say.
04:30I don't know.
04:31I've done it because as well, to be fair, I feel the same.
04:34The staff, they have so much trust on him.
04:36Or in Victor or when it's Martinelli or Ari Jesus or on one square.
04:40You turn around and they're ready.
04:42And they're really desperate to play.
04:44And that's what we need.
04:57For me, it felt like 45 seconds, you know.
05:00And I think it was really special because you could sense that,
05:04oh, it was building up, building up.
05:06And you see, there's no goalie there.
05:07It's going to happen.
05:08It's going to happen.
05:09And everybody was lifting.
05:11And, yeah, it was incredible.
05:14It was so loud, so energetic.
05:16What a moment.
05:19On Mark, in your eyes, what made him so special?
05:21And how did he gain your trust in the short space of time?
05:24I think his character, his personality and the fact that, as I said, he doesn't seem to be faced by
05:31the pressure or his teammates or the opponent.
05:35And, yeah, I've seen a lot of players with talent, but at 16, very few that can cope with that
05:41level of demands.
05:42Could we see him potentially start at some point?
05:45Calma.
05:47As your colleague said, let's come down to earth today and enjoy the moment because it was intense and it
05:54was worth it.
05:55And we'll see tomorrow.
06:00Very hard.
06:01Very hard.
06:01Yeah, a really good side.
06:03Really well coached and, yeah, every time they go in and around the box, you sense how dangerous they are.
06:08And they're very difficult to break down.
06:12And you play as well with the fact that the game, the longer it goes, you have the necessity to
06:17win the game and the will to win it.
06:19And you have to be calm.
06:20And I think the team showed a lot of maturity in the crowd as well.
06:23I think it was good today to be composed and wait for the right moment and leave the players to
06:29make their decision where it was needed to deliver the moment.
06:33And, yeah, at the end, it was all happiness.
06:36Okay, last couple.
06:37Again, just on that, in a moment like that, all the better.
06:40When the game is such a battle.
06:42I mean, what were you thinking before the jumper as well?
06:45What I was thinking?
06:47I don't know.
06:47I was pushing with every inch of my body, you know, to go to that goal and somehow score a
06:55goal.
06:55We cannot demand those players to give everything and us not be there, you know.
07:00I see them and how much they want it.
07:02And now we get all of us, the staff, striving for them to try to help them.
07:07And finally, Sam.
07:09The game was going in one direction until you brought Max on.
07:13Individually, was that one of the best songs you've ever made?
07:17Well, I don't know.
07:18Obviously, Victor scored the goal as well.
07:19So, obviously, his contribution and the way the speed of the game every time he got involved in the action,
07:25it was different.
07:26That's for sure.
07:27And as well, I think he created a different energy in the stadium.
07:31Thanks, Edward.
07:32Yeah.
07:33What's that?
07:34When you watch the city match.
07:36Probably yes.
07:38When you re-watch the match, let's go on.
