00:00We begin our Champions League profiles with Paphos FC from the small town of Paphos on Cyprus' western shore,
00:07a young club which has only existed for a decade.
00:10That's right, 10 years it took to go from non-existence to stepping in to the arena with Europe's elite.
00:18On the shores where Aphrodite is said to have risen from the waves, a new story of birth is unfolding,
00:25not of gods.
00:30But of a football club, Paphos FC is rising from the island sands into Europe's grand stage.
00:39Paphos in many ways is your typical sleepy Mediterranean town.
00:42It's almost noon right now and the streets are pretty much empty.
00:45But Paphos FC didn't sleepwalk their way into the Champions League.
00:49They won their domestic league here last year, then went on to beat big names in European football.
00:54Teams like Red Star Belgrade, Dynamo Kiev and Maccabee Tel Aviv to qualify for the Champions League.
01:01The club's rapid rise to success has been so quick, the infrastructure hasn't been able to keep up.
01:08Paphos FC play here at Stelios Kiriakides Stadium.
01:12Humble grounds, it hosts less than 10,000 fans.
01:15So that means it doesn't even meet UEFA's Champions League requirements to host any matches.
01:20So when Europe's elite, like Bayern Munich, come into town to play here, they're going to have to play at
01:25a completely different stadium about an hour down the road in the neighboring city of Limassol.
01:32Yannis Sokratos could care less about all that.
01:36He's been there from the very start.
01:38I was a kid. I never dreamed about that from the second division, first division, again, second division.
01:46So it's a dream that came true.
01:50We are not very big.
01:52We are making step by step to be a very top team.
01:57No matter what happens from here, Paphos has already etched its name in history.
02:03This island, known better for beaches and its food than its football, will now stand shoulder to shoulder with Europe's
02:10elite.
02:11Hey, what's up, guys?
02:12Nick here in Copenhagen, where FC Copenhagen were in the thick of it on match day three for the Champions
02:19League.
02:20But across Europe, it was a wild round.
02:21Goals absolutely everywhere.
02:23And the table is actually starting to take shape.
02:26And guys, when I say goals everywhere, I mean it.
02:28This was a record-breaking match day three.
02:3071 goals.
02:32PSG smashed Leverkusen 7-2 in Germany.
02:36Due back to brace.
02:37Dembele scoring on his return.
02:39Barcelona, meanwhile, won 6-1 over Olympiacos.
02:43Fermín López stole the show with a hat-trick, while Marcus Rashford added a brace.
02:48PSV thrashed Napoli 6-2.
02:51A 10-man Napoli just absolutely unraveled late in the match.
02:54While Man City won 2-0.
02:56At Villarreal, Newcastle rolled 3-0 over Benfica.
02:59And by the way, Arsenal and Inter, who both remain perfect so far, winning 4-0 in their respective matches
03:05against Atletico and Union Saint-Gilois.
03:08And speaking of clean sheets, guys, three games in, five clubs are perfect on nine points.
03:13That is PSG, Bayern, Inter, Arsenal, and Real Madrid.
03:16Remember, top eight go straight to the round of 16.
03:20Places 9-24 go to the two-leg playoff, 25-36.
03:24Adios.
03:24They're out.
03:25Which, for Copenhagen, is kind of looking like the most likely outcome.
03:28The team who have Rodrigo Huescas, the Mexican who joined from Cruz Azul last year, are struggling yet to win
03:34a match.
03:34So, the league phase lasts until the end of January.
03:37So, what?
03:38We got, like, five more match days.
03:40And speaking of goals, the Golden Boot Race, it's getting spicy.
03:43Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe lead on five goals.
03:45Holland, Rashford close behind with four.
03:48So, all in all, match day three delivered goals and clarity.
03:51The margins are now thin.
03:53One more result, a win here or there.
03:55A tie can swing you from a playoff scramble or into the top eight fast track.
04:00Looking ahead to match day four, we'll have some massive fixtures coming up.
04:05PSG clashing with Bayern and Liverpool going head-to-head against Real Madrid.
04:10We also got Man City, by the way, going head-to-head against Dortmund, just to name a few.
