00:02Organisers launched the KL Festival 2026 on Friday in conjunction with Visit Malaysia
00:082026 and Kuala Lumpur's designation as a UNESCO Creative City of Design last year.
00:16The event will be held from May 6th to 31st across 25 venues, public spaces and streets
00:23in the city, featuring more than 80 events and 700 hours of programming.
00:28These programs will transform Kuala Lumpur's heritage buildings and spaces into a lively
00:34melting pot for visitors and tourists alike.
00:39Maybe one of the things that we are looking at is actually to build a brand ID and we felt
00:43that Creative KL may potentially kind of may seem to be limiting to a particular aspect
00:52by which you're being creative.
00:54KL Festival is to embrace the much larger dimension and to increase what I would call
01:00the coverage of what the country offers because KL Festival is projecting the country forward.
01:06All of these programs are free, but we have to register a few of them.
01:12After that, we have a new touch of show from other countries, from Lebanon, from KL, from KL.

01:33This year's event is themed Memory and Tomorrow and is aimed at bridging generations through
01:39programs including Wayang Kulit, Contemporary Dance, installations, theatre and outdoor film screenings.
01:47The KL Festival is organized by Think City and Kuala Lumpur City Hall and supported by the
01:54Ministry of Finance and the Federal Territories Department.
