00:00Thinking about a wingding or getaway this month or next?
00:03Just make sure those fantastic online getaway ads are legit or real before making your eWall payments.
00:11Our Ryan Lasigas has the details on this PNP advisory on a growing number of vacation hoaxes in cyberspace.
00:21March is here again, the season when many people start planning their summer vacation.
00:26And when it comes to planning, social media is often the first place people turn to.
00:30But the Philippine National Police Anti-Cyber Crime Group or PNPACG warns the public to be cautious
00:36because the dream vacation and relaxation you are hoping for might turn into a nightmare.
00:41According to PNPACG's spokesperson, Police Lt. Tualen Meir Ancilio,
00:45cases of vacation scams usually increase during this time of the year.
00:49In fact, the PNPACG has recorded 29 vacation scam cases from January to February 2026.
01:12To attract victims, the PNPACG said scammers create fake advertisements using stolen photo or legitimate resorts and condominiums.
01:45Arancillo said scammers usually ask for a down payment through online money transfers.
01:51Once the victim sends the payment, the scammers then block them.
02:04ay wala palang resort or ganitong klaseng hotel sa ganung lugar.
02:15Last year, the PNPACG recorded 28 vacation scam cases.
02:19Ryan Lisiguez from the National TV Network for a new and better Philippines.
