00:00Can I mention a pitcher that I was really impressed with for the DR?
00:03Yeah, go quick, because we've got about 90 seconds in this segment.
00:06Brian Baio.
00:07You can find him for the Boston Red Sox,
00:10but you can also find him for the DR.
00:11Five innings, one hit, one earned, seven punches.
00:16Changeup was nasty.
00:17I thought he looked fantastic.
00:19I thought Baio looked like Christopher Sanchez was supposed to look,
00:23to be honest.
00:24He looked like a right-handed great version of Christopher Sanchez.
00:26And Sanchez, he started off with four punch-outs in the first inning,
00:30which was absolutely freaking insane.
00:32But Christopher Sanchez also got roughed up a little bit
00:35in the later innings of his start.
00:36It's pretty much a spring training start.
00:38Obviously, the intensity is upped, but Baio certainly looked the part.
00:41And don't forget about him.
00:43When you assess the Boston Red Sox this year,
00:45Baio is one of those guys that has kind of kicked to the back of the conversation,
00:48and there are plenty of others, like Crochet is the front-line starter.
00:52They got Sonny Gray.
00:53He's the shiny new toy.
00:54Do not forget about Brian Baio.
00:56I feel like we skip over him and take him for granted,
00:59and then we pivot to the Toley and Connelly early conversation.
01:01Brian Baio is the goods.
01:03I want to get to this point real quick on Team DR,
01:07because Peyton Jean has passed this along in our private chat.
01:10Against Nicaragua in their opener,
01:12nine of the ten starters for the Dominican Republic,
01:15Christopher Sanchez included, got MVP votes last year.
01:18Nine of the ten got MVP votes.
01:21The only guy that didn't was the catcher, Austin Wells.
01:23It is unbelievable.
01:26The sheer amount of star power that they're running out.
01:29Sandy Alcantara is going to get the ball on Wednesday
01:31for the Dominican Republic against Venezuela.
01:33That guy has a unanimous Cy Young in his trophy case already.
