00:01:23they see seven two what's the big deal explain why this was so crazy korea had to win by at

00:01:46very narrow window question is do you care are you guys into this world baseball classic that was a big
00:01:51story with bryce harper saying you know it's not it's not the olympics no disrespect to the world
00:01:56baseball classic but you know you tune on and i'll admit not a million years if we weren't coming on
00:02:01after that game am i tuning into that but if you look at the crowd and the players and the
00:02:06emotion
00:02:08it it it really doesn't matter what you're watching you kind of get sucked into something
00:02:12that people seemingly care so much about so you know i i i again i this is a world baseball
00:02:19classic
00:02:19the last couple years times i've done it i haven't paid a ton of attention but with these crowds and
00:02:26how much the players seemingly care and you even have scoobal on the on the tigers pitching for america
00:02:32being like you know i thought i was only gonna pitch once but now i gotta rethink everything
00:02:36is pretty compelling stuff yeah yeah i'm gonna care more now that we're we're getting past the
00:02:41pool stage and we're getting a knockout because the i think the other country's enthusiasm for it
00:02:46is infectious right that our games are fine we have big moments like when swarber hit the home run we
00:02:51had a huge pop the other day but other these these crowds are popping throughout so once it gets
00:02:55everybody over here and we get into knockout stages i think america gets lifted up by the rest of
00:03:00the world yeah i mean it's it's y'all the nail on the head it's just all about like feeding
00:03:04off of that
00:03:04energy i mean the venezuelan crowds are absolutely insane the bat flips are electric and and we talked
00:03:11to adam wainwright on on friday about the world baseball classic and i was shocked he said that
00:03:16was the loudest baseball game he has ever been involved in talking about the game against the
00:03:20venezuelans last wbc saying that world series no matter where you want to go in the mlb he's never been
00:03:26on a stage like that so i'm i'm starting it so and look tonight hernandez i think said he felt

00:03:32it was a bigger game he the kiki hernandez has been like 3 000 world series and maybe
00:03:37they're losing the luster because he's seemingly in it all the time but he said he thought that wbc
00:03:43was bigger than any world series he's ever been in that's a common take among latin players because
00:03:48the last wbc they act like kital martin vlad guerrero and they all said the same thing they'd
00:03:52rather win a wbc than a world series so do you think then what would you think it it to
00:03:58the
00:03:58olympic question i agreed with what bryce hopper said by the way like i to me and by the way

00:04:45originally when bryce hopper said that i was like 100 agree but watching it maybe you don't maybe
00:04:51the world baseball classic sticks on its own i don't know brandon where do you fall in the bryce
00:04:57harper debate i mean i look i get it there's something to an olympic gold medal that has a
00:05:01gravitas that maybe a wbc one doesn't but again just hearing from all these players that are actually
00:05:06in it they all seem to feel like this is kind of the end-all be-all i say why
00:05:11not both i mean we
00:05:12got this but like the olympics are every four years we could come up with some sort of system
00:05:16where we're having great international baseball more than once every three or four years why not
00:05:21why not both maybe maybe the olympics is supposed to be this big celebration of sports every four
00:05:26years you can't have a celebration of sports like dave said without these crowds and without these
00:05:30teams so my question morons the olympics are morons the people around the olympics are still the dumbest
00:05:35people in the history of the world they're getting it's one of those groups that get away
00:05:39with like it's really hard to screw it up and you have the history and the pageantry of something
00:05:44that's been going on forever but they're just corporate morons meek i'm interested in your take

00:10:28to the world baseball classic but it's sort of sort of get me back at what can i defend aaron

00:10:33this everybody's going crazy about this this was the very first meeting they had they weren't playing
00:10:37a game they were all just dressed in their street clothes and he's up there saying yeah we all got
00:10:41together like why does he got to give a speech in that moment anyway i don't give it don't give

00:11:28welcome back to wake up barstool a massive rivalry weekend of college basketball in the books some
00:11:36of the best teams in the country going toe-to-toe and one of the biggest games dave was your
00:11:41michigan
00:11:42wolverines against uh allegedly little brother in michigan state as the wolverines finished 19 and one
00:11:50in big 10 play they beat michigan state 90 to 80 jeremy fears in the headline once again though
00:11:57as he catches an early tee for an alleged groin kick what was your interpretation of fears
00:12:05well he's one of the dirtiest basketball players i've ever seen in my life i mean absolutely
00:12:12just every game he's either tripping somebody or kicking them in the balls and i don't i don't blame
00:12:18okay spears i don't because his coach tom iso is an absolute coward they say he's a leader of men
00:12:28he is not he is one of the worst coaches and i am so sick of his whining look at
00:12:33this now he didn't
00:12:35take accountability this this has gotten so bad that even michigan state fans their most diehard fans
00:12:43there's a guy on social media big michigan state guy justin spiro that's his name even he came out
00:12:51twice enough with kicking people in the balls enough with the dirty basketball it's about time justin
00:13:00spiro thank you for speaking up against all of michigan state in this dirty disgusting behavior
00:13:08and it starts at the top with tom iso who hasn't taken an ounce of accountability the entire year
00:13:15all tom iso has done well they're just paying too much attention to him it's or something he did
00:13:19earlier in the year he gets a different whistle this guy is going around and kicking people in the nuts
00:13:25hold on now hold on now he should be benched he should be suspended and tom iso gets a free

00:13:33some reason he's disgusting they should kick him out of the tournament as uh in the interest of
00:13:38fairness here we should let coach iso speak for himself on this subject uh just to give his opinion
00:13:45as to whether or not fierce kick was intentional here's tom iso after the game oh i'm not talking

00:13:55this guy stinks it was a critical play this is disgusting they say this guy's a leader of men

00:20:15lose to marquette in classic hurley fashion dan hurley at the end of the game uh ejected teed up
00:20:20he's not going to be suspended for the big east tournament or anything like that um but like the
00:20:25the four one seeds are set now right with yukon falling florida moves in and it's all cut and dry
00:20:31it feels like three are cut and dry i guess florida's probably florida goes on the road
00:20:37dominates florida's been great florida's been fantastic it just feels like the top three are
00:20:42more locked in than anybody else but has i just agree oh in terms of seeds not who how far
00:20:47they
00:20:47can go yeah yeah in terms of seeds but would you say brandon in terms of how they're playing would
00:20:52you say that florida's that they're they're as good as january first florida's been playing as good

00:21:54you can do stuff like this so i i give me as much danny hurley as you can possibly inject

00:22:02veins i think he's hilarious he wins i think it's what college sports should be and i don't mean like
00:22:07a moral but this is what you want to watch like this is this is the old days of these
00:22:11coaches who
00:22:12are characters onto themselves i love it well and and dave i mean it's simple how he gets away with

00:22:17right he gets away with it because he wins society t bob there'll be people who i don't care what

00:22:31can't even swear you get in trouble the way you talk so uh yes he wins but i am surprised

00:23:23we've ever interviewed on this show his son stephen pearl leaves a bit to be resired so auburn
00:23:28loses again this week they dropped to 16 and 15 7 and 11 in conference and stephen pearl doing his
00:23:34job
00:23:35had to take the podium and tell you why the auburn tigers should still get into the tournament
00:23:41you know we we've put ourselves in a you know and obviously a difficult situation but also
00:23:47you know a great situation we play in the best league in college basketball it's the deepest league
00:23:51in college basketball we have you know five of some of the best wins in in the country we have
00:23:57the
00:23:57best win in college basketball at florida um you know if you look at our quality wins you know and
00:24:03you look at other teams in the bubble i don't think those teams get those wins i just don't um
00:24:08so
00:24:09we've put ourselves in a position to be considered and you know i think our resume stands up against
00:24:14anybody's it's what about the losses he's taken what about losing to uh old miss at home what about
00:24:21losing to mississippi state on the road what about losing the teams that have losing records in the
00:24:25sec yeah he's got a couple of wins but 16 and 15 7 and 11 in the conference not a
00:24:31tournament resume
00:24:31it's it's it's they're long gone they don't belong even when bruce is on he said they had to get

00:24:37of those wins that they didn't get and i will say bruce pearl which i love about him uh you

00:45:39in fau so like it goes a little loyola chicago it goes both ways what i'm saying is i don't
