04:35Between 1991 SummerSlam and WrestleMania VIII in 1992, Hellwig was absent from the ring.
04:40This was reportedly due to a salary dispute and a suspension.
04:44When Hellwig returned eight months later, with a strunken down figure and shorter, not to mention, blonder hair, various fans
04:50were convinced that this wasn't the same Ultimate Warrior.
04:53But when he comes back, right in the midst of the steroid scandal, he looks noticeably smaller.

05:35If you thought South African President Nelson Mandela died in prison during the mid-80s, you weren't alone.
05:40Many people swear they remember the tragedy in which Nelson Mandela died in a South African prison.
05:46And this may be confusing, but that is simply not true.
05:50Some have a hard time believing that so many people could share a false memory like this.
05:54They believe that Mandela did indeed die during his incarceration, only to be replaced with an imposter.
05:59The man who would bring about change as the country's first democratic leader was actually Gibson Maconda, per conspiracy theorists.
06:07In December 1997, Nelson Mandela gave up the presidency of the African National Congress in favor of South Africa's Vice
06:14President, Thabo Mbeki, who also succeeded him as head of state.
06:18What's more, it's claimed that Maconda was working for the apartheid government, the very system that Mandela would dismantle.

06:57Having undergone surgery for reasons not yet disclosed to the public,
07:01rumors started circulating about the Princess of Wales withdrawal.
07:04Around March, a video of Middleton and Prince Charles seemingly shopping surfaced.
07:09This only led to further speculation, suggesting that the woman in the video was actually a Catherine Middleton impersonator.
07:14People think that I'm Kate Middleton in the video that's come out online.
07:19Given my alibi that, no, it wasn't me in the video.
07:23I was actually at work.
07:25While the social media chatter seemed innocent enough at the time,
07:28Middleton revealed shortly after that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing treatment.
07:33This, of course, came as a huge shock.
07:35And Willem and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of

07:42Middleton has thankfully been in remission since January 2025.
07:46Looking back, though, it's difficult not to feel uncomfortable knowing what Middleton was going through
07:50while baseless conspiracy theories spread.
07:53Number 14. Dave Chappelle
07:55With his hit Comedy Central series in the 2000s, Dave Chappelle achieved superstardom.

08:04Suit yourself, Dave. You've already shot all of your sketches. At this point in the season, you're replaceable.
08:12At the peak of his success, Chappelle not only backed out of his show and a $50 million deal,
08:17he went to South Africa for a period and disappeared from the limelight outside of stand-up.
08:21In the past decade or so, Chappelle has returned to the mainstream, even bringing back some of his popular characters.

09:27Well, of course Michael Jackson would inspire a replacement rumor.
09:31The King of Pop went through one of the most visible and talked about physical transformations in celebrity history.
09:36Remember something. Just because it's in print doesn't mean it's the gospel.
09:42People write negative things because they feel that's what sells.
09:46Good news to them doesn't sell.
09:48Then, there was how the public's perception of Jackson changed amid abuse accusations.
09:53As such, conspiracy theorists weren't content with claiming that Jackson had been replaced with another person, or even a clone.
09:59This theory implied that aliens abducted the real Jackson and substituted him with an extraterrestrial.
10:05He's super nice, very soft-spoken, but it's not like you're meeting a human.
10:11I mean, and I don't mean this in a bad way.
10:13It's sort of like he was so bigger than life, he was so iconic.
10:16It's almost like you're meeting an alien.
10:18As this alien imposter created several controversies on Earth, the genuine artifact resided on planet Zorgat.
10:24Meanwhile, back on planet reality, Jackson suddenly passed away in June 2009.
10:30The alien conspiracy took a back seat, with people now spreading the rumor that MJ is alive.
10:35They did it to try and belittle me, to try to take away my pride.
10:41But I went through the whole system with them, and at the end, I wanted the public to know that
10:49I was okay.
10:52The president reposted an online post without context, by the way.
10:56He didn't add any commentary to it, but the person that he reposted said that former President Biden had been
11:02executed,
11:03and that he was actually replaced with clones and robots that were doing the job for him.
11:08We're going to take a wild guess and say that Trump shared this conspiracy theory, despite having no evidence to
11:13back it up.

11:14In 2025, not long after retaking the White House, President Trump reposted a claim from a Truth Social user,
11:21saying that Joe Biden had been executed in 2020.
11:24Admittedly, this is an extremely outlandish conspiracy theory, but it was reshared by the U.S. president on his own
11:31personal account,
11:32where he has around 10 million followers there.
11:34The 46th president of the United States was supposedly replaced with clones, doubles, as well as robotic-engineered soulless, mindless
11:42entities.
11:43We'd say that's too outrageous for any person to believe, but that's not the world we're living in.
11:47Naturally, Trump's critics found this to be in poor taste, especially considering that Biden had recently been diagnosed with prostate
11:54cancer.
11:55To others, it was just another day in Trump's America.
11:58And in fact, Donald Trump's repost of that conspiracy theory came just one day after Joe Biden told reporters that

12:04having started his treatment for his aggressive form of prostate cancer.

12:11Jim Carrey's so-called rubber face is one that everyone recognizes.
12:15People were in disbelief in March 2026, when Carrey accepted an honorary César award, looking a little different.
12:32His hair was longer than usual, and at 64, the young-at-heart actor looked his age.
12:38So, people online jumped to the logical conclusion that Satanists killed Carrey and cloned him.
12:43Drag artist Alexis Stone also suggested that she had taken Carrey's place.
12:47A rep for Jim confirms to E.T. it was indeed just Jim who attended the awards ceremony.
12:52And if you need more proof, a representative from the César Awards tells us Jim was there with his loved
12:58ones,
12:58longtime publicists, and 12 close members of his inner circle.
13:02To be fair, there is a little credibility to the theory that a look-alike stood in for Carrey,
13:06as he told David Letterman years earlier that he used a decoy to fool the paparazzi.

13:31Numerous conspiracy theories dominated 2023, and the Kanye West replacement theory was a big one.
13:37Now, this theory has been getting traction for several years,
13:39and seemingly began around 2016 when West openly supported Donald Trump for president,
13:44but it has really picked up steam since he began dating Bianca Sensori.
13:48In the winter of 2023, TikTok was ablaze with Kanye replacement theories,
13:52with many users arguing that he looked a lot different.
13:54They claimed that he was now much taller, that his facial features were radically different,
13:59and that he was even missing various tattoos.

14:31Enter Disney, who supposedly had the famous singer killed because she was damaging their reputation.
14:35As the theory goes, Disney killed Cyrus, dumped her body in the desert,
14:40and replaced her with a more family-friendly clone.

14:47Gucci Mane
14:47In May 2014, famous rapper Gucci Mane pled guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
14:53and was sent to prison for two years, and when he came out, he was an entirely different person.
14:58Fans immediately took note of his dramatically altered physique, but that was hardly the only difference.
15:02He had a new diet, a new sense of fashion, a new accent, a whole new personality.

15:37The popular conspiracy theory argues that Melania Trump was replaced by a body double,
15:42as she was unwilling to perform the public duties of First Lady.
15:45This theory became widespread in May 2018, when Trump disappeared from the public eye for weeks while recovering from surgery.
15:51It was also unintentionally bolstered by Donald Trump himself, who accidentally referred to Melania as Melanie in a tweet.
