00:20Lucky for you, you're no longer blissfully unaware and we can crack on.
00:23And what better way to crack on than with the hero of cracking on, Arkhan the Black.
00:28I'm Will, Lead Content Producer here at Creative Assembly, and this is More War.
00:38It's turn 50, that was quick, and I'm muddying along with a simple goal,
00:42make Papa Nagash proud. We've got his pyramid ready, we've kidnapped Volkmar and destroyed his faction,
00:48and we've already collected three of Nagash's books, aren't we doing well?
00:51No one likes us, but we've managed to convince Gorbad to join our war with Cetera,
00:55and we've bribed some lizards into a temporary state of affability.
00:59With luck, we won't find ourselves too overwhelmed, which is ideal because we're aiming for book six next.
01:04That means war with the dwarfs and Kalida is on the horizon.
01:07But before all that, we wouldn't be the best darn second in command if we showed up at Nagash's
01:12rebirth without his staff. That wouldn't do, not one bit.
01:19Alright, whilst this battle's underway, I think we'll add the traditional disclaimers.
01:23I am a middling Total War player at best. I play this game for the spectacle.
01:27Who doesn't love watching rat folk being exploded by magic mummies? That's a great sentence.
01:32Speaking of, let's have a nice little cinematic section of rats dying.

01:57Lovely jubbly, look I'm playing on hard hard and I'm probably going to do things sub-optimally.
02:02Sorry. My only rule for this playthrough is this.
02:06Every time I do anything, I should ask myself, would Nagash approve?
02:10Pretty sure that's going to be an easy question to answer.
02:13Does it involve death? Yes, then proceed.
02:18Alrighty, quest complete and I'm certain Nagash won't mind if we try out his staff for a bit.
02:24You know, just keep it warm.
02:27Arkhan's lacking a hand weapon, my bad, mostly because we've not done his other quests yet.
02:32In the meanwhile though, we've been hoarding Canopic Jars and building up all the little
02:36trade buildings we can to open up the Mortary Cult.
02:40We'll craft the Blade of Mourning Fire and the Hieratic Jar, just for fun.
02:44Skill-wise, I prioritised unlocking right hand of Nagash and Arkhan's spells.
02:49Later on, we'll try to scoop up Necro Strike, but admittedly I've been ignoring his yellow line.
02:55Look, the other skills are just too tasty. We'll get there.
02:58It's my other Lords that I've been prioritising on the red and yellow line, so it's fine.
03:02So I'm having my armies work in pairs, one army being the front line and the other line being
03:06the damage dealers. They're all fairly low tier so far, but they're getting the job done.
03:11Ideally, I'd like to unlock the big boys sooner rather than later, and that's why I'm prioritising
03:16growth in all my settlements.
03:18In fact, the Coast of Arabi is our first tier 4 province, which means we can get our first
03:22Necro Sphinx chain going. Nice.
03:25I'm also popping the Incarnation of Tahoth whenever I can for the Caskey of Souls.
03:29Just out of our price range this turn.
03:32Next time, baby.
03:34Right, we'll give Arkhan a minute to catch his breath, then we'll take the fight to Khemri.
03:40I think Nagash will approve of this, so let's not think twice about it.
03:44The sooner Cetras serve defeat, the more Nagash will love us.
03:47And that's kind of why Arkhan does, well, anything.
03:52Born into low nobility, Arkhan's avenues into power were few.
03:56Until Nagash, a prince of Khemri, lured Arkhan to his side with promises of influence and wealth.
04:01Now bear with me, it gets a little complicated from here, but there's a bit of politicking,
04:06a few quelled rebellions, a touch of necromancy later, and Arkhan's dead.
04:11Whoops, don't worry though, Nagash brought him back.
04:14Then Arkhan meets Navarata, and whoops, vampires.
04:17Then he died again, then Nagash brought him back, then Nagash was defeated by Sigmar,
04:22then Nagash was banished by the Toon Kings, then Arkhan brought him back,
04:25then the Toon Kings banished him again, and thus begun Arkhan's ultimate goal.
04:30Preserve his master's soul, and prepare time and again for his return.

05:26The Ironbrow Dwarfs are standing between us and Nagash's sixth book.
05:30Yes, in theory we could circumvent them and go straight through Kalidra and the Golden Tower,
05:35but I'm getting genuinely scared of Gorbad.
05:39The big green meanie's at war with the Ironbrow,
05:41so let's see if we can stave off that inevitability for another few turns.
05:47Slowly but surely we've been kitting out our armies with constructs and artillery
05:51and all that other fun stuff, and not a moment too soon.
05:55The lizards are unappeasable.
05:57Again, it's only a matter of time until they're breathing down our necks.
06:00Don't worry though, if anything kicks off, the three amigos here will deal with them.
06:04For now though, let's go dowie stomping.

06:12Do we talk about Arken's defeat of the High Elves during the Battle of the Nine Demons,
06:16or the subsequent conquering of the Land of the Dead?
06:22It's safe to say Arken would move heaven and earth for Nagash.
06:26He'd sacrifice the Everchild, the Fae Enchantress, and countless others to achieve his ends.
06:32The less said about Volkmar's fate, the better.
06:35Look, I'm not here to say if it was worth it or not, but the end times were probably pretty
06:39sweet for old Arken.
06:41He had his buddy back, and they were cruising across the world like Thelma and Louise taking names and raising
06:46zombies.
06:47The good life.
06:48Or, well, un-life.
06:50But all roads lead to Middenheim.
06:53Every romcom needs a dark knight of the soul.
06:57Or does it?
06:58Maybe with you at the helm, Arken and Nagash can romp across the old world forever.

07:22Arken's heading into the realm of Lybaris, the sick book in his purpley sights, but we'd be remiss if we
07:27didn't start planning our next steps.
07:30Once we've nabbed book six, the next obvious target is book one, which is currently nestled in the embrace of
07:36Karak Eight Peaks.
07:37Gorbad country.
07:39I knew this war was coming, and frankly, I'm getting a bit tired of trying to appease the big green
07:44meanie.
07:44Which is why the three amigos are going raiding.
07:47Godspeed, lads.
07:49Elsewhere, I'm no longer convinced these lizards have the guts to start a war with us.
07:53Either way, I'm keeping an army nearby just in case.
07:56If nothing else, we can use it to start a new front with Kalida if things get too spicy.
08:01Alrighty, that's the plan.

08:16If I had pride, would I admit that I positioned these middle units woefully?
08:19Talk about a waste of casket of souls.
08:22No matter, we'll send our bats off to deal with their artillery and focus on bringing these gates down.
08:29There they go, one after the other, and in we swarm a righteous flood of bone and bad intentions.
08:44Surprisingly, our eastern offensive's been met with the most resistance and we can't get proper use of our cavalry or
08:50war dogs.
08:51Yet worse is happening to the west, where our artillery is being hammered by enemy towers.
08:55If we don't capture these walls soon, we could lose a pricey unit.
09:00Better yet, rather than trying to hide in the trees, let's bring him into the settlement.
09:04After all, who's going to stop me?
09:07Kalida's garrison is no match for our seasoned soldiers, and inch by inch, the settlement falls.
09:18One last push.
09:24And we've won the day.
09:28And there we have it.
09:30A close victory, and book six to add to our ever-growing library.
09:35Won't Nagash be proud?
09:37Four down, five to go, and an entire world yet to conquer.
09:41What could possibly go wrong?
09:46Oh, Kerbal, who could have seen a free front war coming?
09:49Not this guy, nope, certainly didn't plan that.

09:54That's a lot of corpses to deliver to old Nagash when we wake him up.
09:58Surely, surely he'll be proud of us then.
