00:00How about the association tonight, Joe? I'm tracking three total games tonight,
00:04but also giving us a really good one right off the bat at 7 o'clock. The San Antonio Spurs
00:08and Victor Webanyama in town to face the Detroit Pistons. This line overnight, Joe,
00:13right around two and a half at most outlets, but now I'm seeing minus one and a half. Just
00:16about everywhere. Still a favorite for the Detroit Pistons. A total which opened up at
00:21233 and a half now sits at 230 and a half. Give me a spread line tonight, Joe. Spurs versus
00:26Pistons.
00:27Yeah, I mean, this is a huge three-game homestand here against not only do they have San Antonio
00:34tonight, but they have Oklahoma City on Wednesday. And we know Detroit has established themselves as
00:40one of the better teams in the East, Donnie, right? But now we're going to learn a little
00:44something about them going up against the competition in the West, which everyone seems to think
00:49is going to be way better than anything the East can bring to the table. I don't know that you
00:55want
00:56to get in front of this train right now, Donnie, at all. And I'm kind of shocked it's only a
01:01point,
01:01a point and a half right now. It feels like, listen, we know San Antonio and Wemby are on a
01:06different
01:06planet, but my goodness, this Detroit Pistons team plays great team basketball. They're physical,
01:14they're tough as nails. And of course, they have what I think is very well the MVP of the league
01:20in Cade Gunningham. Sacramento Kings going to take on the Memphis Grizzlies tonight, Joe.
01:24Overnight numbers here, minus four and a half as a favorite towards the home team, the Memphis
01:28Grizzlies. Most of the marketplace still sitting at minus four and a half. The total in this game
01:32in the mid-230s, 233 and a half, 234 and a half, depending on where you're shopping at. Kings and
01:36the
01:37Grizzlies tonight in the association, Joe. Give me a spread line here. Mark this down. This will be one
01:42of the very few times remaining where Memphis is a favorite and the Kings are only a four and a
01:47half point dog, Adani. You've got a Kings team that is trying to break a franchise record 16 game
01:53losing streak right now. The good news is they got to go up against a team in Memphis that has
01:58just
01:59lost five of their past six games here. And oh yeah, no John Morant to be found to save them
02:05here.
02:05No, nothing. I can't imagine this game staying under the total in any way, shape or form. There will be
02:11zero defense played in this game here tonight. Just look at the over because that's where these
02:17two teams are going to go. Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets, the final of a three game set
02:22in the association. 930 start tonight, Joe. Two touchdown favorite plus, almost. The opening
02:27line, 15 and a half, Joe. Some outlets now showing 13 and a half, but the failing line is right
02:32around
02:3214 to 14 and a half as a favorite towards the Rockets. A total of 226 and a half. The
02:37Deadwood Jazz
02:38taking on the Houston Rockets. Is it worth that 14 point line? What's your spread line
02:42for this one, Joe? Well, we know one team is tanking and one team is not. We also know
02:47the Rockets are very good defensively at home, Donnie. This feels like maybe a good spot to
02:54maybe a Utah Jazz team total under here, Donnie. I can see the Rockets pulling away and winning
03:00this one easily. I'm not running to the window. Delay, you know, 14 and two touchdowns or more,
03:05but I think the Jazz team total under might be the best look in this game.
03:10NBA news and notes right here on a Monday morning on the early line. Donnie, right side. It is Joe
03:15Ranieri. It's a Sports Grid Network. It's how we get down. And also, I don't know how Tyrese
03:18Halliburton's getting down right now. We brought it up a few times on the show, but he is going to
03:21be
03:22down for a couple of weeks and away from the team in his rehab process. And also, Joe, if anyone's
03:27what is actually shingles, Grok defines it as a painful rash caused by reactivation of the
03:34Varsella zoster virus, the same one that causes chicken pox. It typically affects one side of
03:41the body with symptoms like itching, tingling, and blisters. Risks increase with age here or
03:46weakened immunity. Rare in people young is Tyrese Halliburton, but there you go, Joe. We gave the
03:51people the answer of exactly what shingles is. Adult chicken pox, Donnie. And everybody that I
03:57know that has had it is it's way more painful as an adult than it is as a when you
04:03get it as a kid.
04:05So and there's no guarantee that you won't get it as an adult, even if you had it as a
04:09kid. So
04:09it's something to keep an eye on. But it's, you know, certainly recoverable. And since we weren't
04:16going to see him on the court anyway, he's got plenty enough time to be able to get up and
04:20over that.
04:21One of the all time sites there in the 1980s was Pat Riley standing on the sideline here of the
04:26Showtime Lakers wearing those expensive Armani suits. Now he's immortalized into Lakers history
04:33here by getting his own statue outside of Crypto.com Arena. A lot of famous statues there.
04:38Well deserved. One of the true icons of the game now with his own statue for the Los Angeles Lakers.
04:45Yeah. And they probably went out and in a great fashion got blown out by the Celtics last night.
04:51Yeah, that's great. Way to way to represent Pat that that in one of the greatest those Showtime
04:57Lakers were still some of the greatest teams ever. But it's actually really cool statue. And it's I
05:03don't know what took so long if we're being completely honest here, because he is one of
05:07the most legendary coaches in the game, and especially when it came to the Lakers.
05:13Yep. Lakers know what they're doing here, right? So you know what? Watch this. We're gonna have a good
05:16day today. We're gonna have Pat Riley. We're gonna honor him. I'm gonna give him his statue here.
05:20We got a big time basketball game that we're gonna play a little bit later on the court. And oh,
05:24yeah, even though we got smacked on the court, we had the Riley thing. We're gonna raise ticket
05:28prices next year for the season. How about that? Sneak that right in there, Joe.
05:33Well, I mean, it is gonna be the LeBron farewell tour, right? So I mean, it's probably worth the
05:38price of admission just to see him get showered with flowers every night and gifts from opposing
05:44teams. Can you believe that, Donnie? Unbelievable.
05:46There you go. And will LeBron James actually be playing 41 home games for the
05:50Lakers next year or just come into town once or twice with the Cleveland Cavaliers? That's a lot
05:55to be laid out. But the one thing we know about King James, he's played a lot of basketball here.
05:59How about this? The second player in NDA history to reach 1600 games. And by the way,
06:05Robert Parrish has played 1600 and 11. He's gonna pass that as well. LeBron been around for a minute,
06:11as we like to say. Hot minute. Yeah, there's a lot of rubber meets the road there with him,
06:19Donnie. That's a lot of basketball he's played for a very, very long time. You don't rack up those
06:25kinds of numbers by playing for eight years, I'll tell you that. No, but you don't rack up those
06:29numbers. It's supposed to get smashed at home by the Boston Celtics last night, Joe. That final score,
06:34111 to 89. How about Peyton Pritchard? 30 and eight out there for Showtime. By the way,
06:40Lakers only 89 points. How about this, Joe? 22 in the second, 21 in the third, and 18 in the
06:45fourth.
06:46It's like they just got tired, man. Yeah, no, I mean, it was, I mean, it was Sunday. It was
06:51a long
06:52day. I mean, you know, they were probably all up early watching Team USA win. So, I mean, they had,
06:57they had an excuse there, Donnie. I mean, you know, what'd you expect them to do?
07:01Thunder at home. No excuse to start winning more basketball games. 44 and 14 now in the season
07:06with a 121-113 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Close game all the way through at
07:11this point. Fun game to watch. The Thunder, just a better team, 1 by 8. Yeah, yeah. Well,
07:16Thunder are, you know, their goal now is to just get healthy and make another run at it right now.
07:23In the meantime, they'll certainly go ahead and win, what, 60-plus games here, Donnie,
07:28when it's all said and done. They went from setting the record for the most wins of a
07:33franchise to, all right, well, we'll get 60 or more. And again, it's all about being healthy,
07:38though, heading into the postseason for them. And by the way, I didn't see this one coming
07:42right here for the Philadelphia 76ers the night before. It got dropped by the horrible New Orleans
07:46Pelicans. Then you go on the road, you got to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves here at this point.
07:50And the Sixers easily won this game, 135-108, which started with a 35-point first quarter here.
07:56Tyrese Maxey, 39 points, 16 of 28 from the floor. And Vijay Edgecombe, the good young rookie here,
08:0224-point show, which included six for seven from downtown. The Sixers with a must-needed victory
08:06because we don't ever know if Joel Embiid is coming back to the Sixers.
08:11I agree, Donnie. I thought it was great across the board there for them. That was a big win.
08:18And they hadn't looked all that great prior, but they looked pretty good. They looked a role
08:22there last night for sure. How about Nikola Jokic and the boys? Like, hey, how are they
08:27going to factor last night? Well, they factored well for Nikola Jokic. By the way, if I told you
08:31before the game, Jokic is going to take on the Warriors. The Warriors really don't have anybody
08:35in their lineup. And Jokic is going to go 35-20-12. And then I go, Joe, oh yeah, the
08:39Nuggets,
08:40they still lost by double digits. What an effort by the Warriors. 128-117, that victory
08:45over the Nuggets. Impressive. The Denver Nuggets are unbettable, Donnie. They have no defense
08:52whatsoever. And they only play half a game. It's the most unbelievable thing I have seen here.
08:59This is a team that is literally just waiting to get Aaron Gordon back. And the regular season
09:04cannot end quick enough here. They've already won enough games, Donnie. They don't care being a
09:08one seed, two seed. Doesn't matter. They are just going through the motions. They can stop nobody.
09:14So only play the Nuggets to the over because they are playing zero defense right now.
09:21It's crazy, too, that West Coast. You open up and you get a loss out of the break. And then
09:24it's
09:25all saying, OK, we've got the Trailblazers on the back-to-back here. They beat the Trailblazers
09:28by like 50. Then they show up there for Golden State. Don't play any defense. Blow a late lead
09:32in that game. And it was like, hey, well, it's Klay Thompson. It's Draymond Green. It's
09:35Kevin Durant. It's Steph Kerlick. No, nobody was on that court except Brandon Pudzemski
09:40in the fourth quarter. He was doing a lot of damage at this point.
09:42But again, yeah, exactly. The old-timers and the young guys that nobody knows about doing
09:47a lot of damage at that point. But sometimes that's just the way it goes through. Three
09:50games tonight, Joe, in the association. The main game, San Antonio Spurs and the Detroit
09:54Pistons. One and a half point favorite for the Pistons at home versus those San Antonio
09:58Spurs. And the alien, Victor Webinyama.
10:02I'm looking very forward to this game. I mean, it's a litmus test, right? All right. You're
10:07the best team in the East. But how do you compare against the teams in the West? The best
10:11of the West. We're going to find that out here tonight, I think.
10:14Now, it's time for some of those best bets out here with our bye-bye-bye bets. I'm going
10:17to give you the floor, Joe. Since you don't have any snow, you take it away.
10:22Interesting stuff here, Donnie. I got to tell you, not a lot of games in the NBA or college,
10:27but the ones that we do have are actually pretty good. And in the NBA, there's only one game worth
10:33watching tonight. That's going to be San Antonio taking on Detroit. And we're starting to see a
10:39little bit of love here for San Antonio. One's popping up here in the market. But when you look
10:45at these two teams in the month of February, Detroit has lost one game. San Antonio has not
10:51lost their game. Both of these teams have been absolutely red hot here. But I think home court
10:58matters in this spot here. This is a big game for Detroit to kind of prove that, yes, not only
11:05are
11:05we the best in the East, but we are also very good here against the best that's coming out of
11:11the West.
11:12And I think San Antonio is one of the best out of the West. Cade Cunningham is the MVP of
11:17the league
11:18as far as I'm concerned. I'm going to take Detroit at home here tonight to get it done, Donnie.
11:23By the way, I've been feasting on the NBA with teams that don't necessarily deserve to be
11:27competitive in games that nobody wants to bet in some work and my favorite. But on Friday, I took
11:30the Portland Trailblazers. They got people at 50 points by the Denver. So looking for a bounce
11:35back tonight. I'm actually going to go tonight, Joe, with the Sacramento Kings on the road. Bad
11:39basketball team getting four and a half points, same as the opening number, but only 35% of the
11:43tickets coming in on the Kings. We'll see if we can continue the strategy here post all-star break,
11:48or is it just that some of those teams are just tanking so hard you can't even take them worth
11:53anything here. I'm going to take the Kings plus four and a half, Joe, on a Monday to get back
11:57on
11:57track. 2-0? I think we could do it tonight. I think we can. I agree, Donnie. I'm with you
12:02there.
12:03It's ugly, but somebody's got to win it.
