00:01Love at first sight? Oh yeah, but love at first sound? 100%. I'm privileged to bring to you this
00:13week the 2023 Cadillac Escalade V, a high-performance, four-wheel-drive, large luxury SUV.
00:25The big story lies under the hood, where you find a hand-assembled and supercharged 6.2-liter
00:32V8, putting out, get this, 682 horses and a strong 653 pound-feet of torque. It really
00:42gets this beast moving. It's made into a 10-speed automatic with paddle shifters. Zero to 60
00:49in this 7,000-pound SUV is just four seconds. The exterior is very in-your-face with a massive
00:56grille, huge 22-inch alloy wheels, a rear spore and quad exhaust. You'll be amazed when you
01:03open the door to get in. You're met with an opulent interior and seating that rivals the
01:08nicest hotel you've ever been in. The magic really happens when you push the start button
01:13and three different screens appear in front of you, stretching almost three-quarters of
01:18the way across the entire vehicle. All total, there are 38 inches of screens.
01:24The gate screen is highly configurable, or you can make it a huge map that shows your exact
01:30position. There's a small third screen to the left of the dash to configure the driver's
01:35screen, turn on night vision, and adjust the terrific head-up display. The touchscreen above
01:42the center console is almost 17 inches by itself, and controls everything, including the sound
01:48system, navigation, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and more. A swipe to the left gives you trailering options,
01:55apps for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, and also Alexa. The dash is heavily stitched,
02:03and there's some beautiful wood that runs across it. The center console features your gear shifter,
02:08two cup holders, USB ports, a wireless charger, a round knob if you prefer not to operate everything
02:16by a touch, and a brake hold button. Next to that, you access the V setting to configure
02:22the vehicle the way you want it. The leather seats are patterned, bolstered, and incredibly
02:27comfortable. They have 12-way power, and are heated and cooled. They also massage you, and
02:33they are wonderful. Moving to the center row are heated but not air-conditioned captain's chairs,
02:39which slide and recline. These occupants get their own AC controls, air vents in the ceiling,
02:46USB-C ports, and a power outlet. They also have two 12-inch screens to watch streaming services,
02:53play games, or search the web. To access the massive third row seat, there are switches to power fold
02:59the second row seats down easily. The third row will easily seat three adults and has plenty of leg
03:06and headroom. There's a power lift gate that opens up a lot of cargo area and power outlet if needed,
03:14and switches to fold down the third row that gives you a totally flat load floor. There is
03:20underneath storage also for hiding valuables. If you don't want to open the entire lift gate,
03:26you can just open the rear glass. Escalades come completely loaded with heated power tilt steering
03:32wheel, a panoramic moonroof, remote start, keyless entry, and an amazing rear camera system with cross
03:40traffic alert. My tester's only option is the Argent Silver paint. Everything else is standard equipment
03:46on this model, and trust me, there is nothing missing. Just a note, it comes standard with the AKG
03:53Studio surround sound system. It's the best I've ever heard, and it has 36 speakers throughout the SUV,
04:00including in the front seat headrest. All in all, the Escalade V is an amazing, very large,
04:07very fast SUV that rides and handles fantastic, thanks to the independent rear suspension and
04:14magnetic ride control, which gives you a very smooth ride. If you're a fan like me of an amazing exhaust
04:22sound, it just doesn't get any better than this. Fuel economy, well, it's what you'd expect, 11 in town and
04:3216 on the highway,
04:33but remember, it has close to 700 horses. As always, all this wonderfulness and power
04:40comes with a hefty sticker price of $150,565. Sounds like a lot, but I've never been in an SUV,
04:51I've enjoyed more, and I've reviewed a ton of them. I just wish you could get one. There is a
04:57very long
04:58waiting list. Thanks for riding along with us today for another CarPro test drive this week featuring the
