00:01Birmingham City Council has moved forward with plans to extend the A38 cycle route from Sully
00:07Oak to Longbridge in a project costing £22,500,000. The aim is to create a safer connected
00:15corridor for cyclists and pedestrians while reducing reliance on cars. The outlying business
00:20case was approved in November 2025 and a strategy to appoint a contractor to carry out the work
00:27has now been agreed. Works could begin in October this year and some councillors have questioned
00:33funding though as the Rosewell review suggests only £5 million may be available instead of the
00:40£14,500,000 previously cited.
