00:00Those are just some of the hundreds of survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's global sex trafficking ring
00:05who are demanding that the truth be told and are demanding accountability for the abusers who trafficked and raped them.
00:13You still haven't met with these survivors.
00:17Welcome, Attorney General Bondi.
00:19You've got the best lawyer's job in America because your mission is justice and your clients are the American people.
00:26But to promote justice for the people, you've got to listen to the victims, like the women seated behind you
00:33today.
00:34Those are just some of the hundreds of survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's global sex trafficking ring
00:40who are demanding that the truth be told and are demanding accountability for the abusers who trafficked and raped them.
00:48You still haven't met with these survivors.
00:51So with their permission, let me introduce to you the survivors and late survivors' family members who are present today.
00:58There's Teresa Helm.
01:00There's Jess Michaels.
01:02Laura Bloom McGee.
01:04Danny Bensky.
01:05Liz Stein.
01:07Marina Lacerda.
01:08Skye and Amanda Roberts, who are the family of the late Virginia Giuffre.
01:13Charlene Richard and Lisa Phillips.
01:16Now, you're not showing a lot of interest in the victims, Madam Attorney General.
01:20Whether it's Epstein's human trafficking ring or the homicidal governmental violence against citizens in Minneapolis,
01:28as Attorney General, you're siding with the perpetrators and you're ignoring the victims.
01:34That will be your legacy unless you act quickly to change course.
01:40You're running a massive Epstein cover-up right out of the Department of Justice.
01:44You've been ordered by subpoena and by Congress to turn over 6 million documents, photographs, and videos in the Epstein
01:52files,
01:52but you've turned over only 3 million.
01:55You say you're not turning over the other 3 million because they're somehow duplicative,
02:00but we know that there are actual memos of victim statements in there,
02:04and you also took down the Department of Justice's prosecution memo from 2019.
02:10So it's clearly not all duplicative, but even if it were, why not release it?
02:15Just release all the duplicative stuff.
02:18In the half you did produce, you redacted the names of abusers, enablers, accomplices, and co-conspirators,
02:25apparently to spare them embarrassment and disgrace,
02:29which is the exact opposite of what the law ordered you to do.
02:33Even worse, you shockingly failed to redact many of the victims' names,
02:39which is what you were ordered to do by Congress.
02:42Some of the victims had come forward publicly, but many had not.
02:46Many had kept their torment private, even from family and friends,
02:51but you published their names, their identities, their images on thousands of pages for the world to see.
03:02So you ignored the law, and even with over 100,000 employees at your disposal,
03:07you acted with some mixture of staggering incompetence, cold indifference, and jaded cruelty
03:15towards more than 1,000 victims raped, abused, and trafficked.
03:21This performance screams cover-up.
03:24Convicted sex trafficker and groomer, Ghislaine Maxwell,
03:28opened the gates of hell to Virginia Giuffre and hundreds of other victims,
03:33as Virginia recorded in her remarkable book, Nobody's Girl.
03:36But when Maxwell was subpoenaed to come testify before Congress,
03:41you and Todd Blanche quickly moved her from a higher security prison
03:46to a minimum security camp in Texas, where she's enjoyed five-star treatment,
03:51including catered meals, private gym time, and access to a therapy puppy.
03:58All because Todd Blanche, who's utterly failed to investigate the monstrous crimes
04:03of Epstein and Maxwell's co-conspirators, spent nine hours with Maxwell
04:07and satisfied himself that she would have nothing untoward to say about Donald Trump,
04:13which is your only real interest in the matter, based on institutional performance.
04:19But abandoning victims and coddling perpetrators is what you do best
04:23when the FBI opened a criminal investigation into the brutal killing
04:28in Minneapolis of Renee Goode, a poet and 37-year-old mother of three
04:32by Trump's masked paramilitary ICE agents.
04:35You shut it down.
04:37You claim you're investigating the cold-blooded murder of Alex Preddy,
04:41an ICU nurse at the VA.
04:43But how can we trust the administration
04:45when the president and Kristi Noem called Preddy a domestic terrorist
04:49and Stephen Miller called him a would-be assassin?
04:53Not only do you refuse to share evidence with the state
04:55and local investigators and prosecutors in Minnesota,
04:58you have blocked their access to the crime scene and the evidence.
05:03How are you seeking justice for Marimar Martinez,
05:06the Montessori school teacher in Chicago
05:08who was shot five times by a Border Patrol agent
05:11who bragged about it on text?
05:14Or the family of Keith Porter, a father of two,
05:17shot and killed by an off-duty ICE agent in L.A.?
05:20Or the family of Silverio Villas-Gonzalez,
05:23shot and killed in Illinois minutes after he dropped his kids off at school?
05:27There's no sign of any movement at the Department of Justice.
05:31You even launched a criminal investigation
05:33into Renee Goode's grieving widow.
05:36How sick is that?
05:38But it's even worse.
05:39You've turned the People's Department of Justice
05:41into Trump's instrument of revenge.
05:45Trump orders up prosecutions like pizza,
05:48and you deliver every time.
05:49He tells you to go after James Comey,
05:52Letitia James, Lisa Cook, and Jerome Powell,
05:55the head of the Federal Reserve Board,
05:56and members of Congress like Adam Schiff,
05:59Mark Kelly, Alyssa Slotkin,
06:01Chrissy Houlihan, Jason Crow,
06:03Chris DiLuzio, and Maggie Goodlander,
06:05to name a few, and you snap to it.
06:07You replace real prosecutors
06:10with counterfeit stooges
06:12who robotically do the president's bidding.
06:15Nothing in American history comes close
06:17to this complete corruption
06:19of the justice function
06:20and contamination of federal law enforcement.
06:23And the good news
06:24is many serious lawyers at DOJ,
06:26including some of your own original appointees,
06:29have refused your lawless orders.
06:32Danielle Sassoon,
06:33the original pick for acting U.S. Attorney Manhattan,
06:36resigned rather than follow your corrupt order
06:39to quash an indictment
06:41against Mayor Eric Adams
06:42as a political favor from Donald Trump.
06:45A Federalist Society member
06:46who clerked for Justice Scalia,
06:48U.S. Attorney Sassoon refused
06:50to participate in this blatantly corrupt scheme.
06:52Her top assistant, Hagan Scotton,
06:55an Iraqi war vet
06:56and two-time Bronze Star recipient
06:58who clerked for Chief Justice Roberts
07:00and then Judge Kavanaugh,
07:02promptly resigned too,
07:04writing to your office, quote,
07:05I expect you will eventually find someone
07:08who is enough of a fool
07:10or enough of a coward
07:11to file your motion,
07:13but it was never going to be me.
07:15You and the president nominated Eric Siebert,
07:17a 15-year career prosecutor,
07:20to be your U.S. Attorney
07:21for the Eastern District of Virginia.
07:25But after five months
07:26of investigating Letitia James
07:28and James Comey,
07:29he found no evidence
07:31to justify criminal charges.
07:32So you forced him out.
07:34You replaced him with Lindsay Halligan,
07:36Trump's personal lawyer
07:37from the Mar-a-Lago documents case
07:39who had zero prosecutorial experience
07:42and no qualifications.
07:44And then you were humiliated
07:45when a federal judge
07:46found that this corrupt appointment
07:48was blatantly unlawful
07:49and threw out Halligan's indictments entirely.
07:52And grand juries of American citizens
07:54have repeatedly rejected your vendettas
07:57and baseless indictments
07:58brought by the hacks
07:59left at DOJ now
08:01with two different grand juries
08:02in Virginia voting down indictments
08:04against Letitia James
08:05in a single week.
08:06And just yesterday,
08:08another grand jury
08:09shut down your vendetta factory
08:11by rejecting indictments
08:13against the six members of Congress
08:14who had spoken out
08:16to remind all service members
08:17that they have a duty
08:19to refuse illegal orders.
08:21You tried to get a grand jury
08:23to indict six members of Congress
08:24who are veterans
08:25of our armed forces
08:26on charges of seditious conspiracy
08:29simply for exercising
08:30their First Amendment rights.
08:32I hope you will heed the wisdom
08:34and the constitutional patriotism
08:36of those grand jurors
08:37and not try it again
08:39by doubling down on that humiliation.
08:41As your best lawyers are sacked
08:43for having participated
08:44in the January 6 case
08:46or just flee for the exits now,
08:48your new lawyers keep lying in court.
08:50In dozens of cases,
08:51they've been excoriated
08:53for lying to federal judges.
08:54Chief Judge Boesberg,
08:56right here in D.C.,
08:57suggested your Department of Justice
08:59perpetrated a fraud on the court.
09:02Other judges found your statements
09:03to be, quote,
09:05inexplicably misleading,
09:06patently incredible,
09:08totally inconsistent,
09:09and so disingenuous
09:11that the court is left
09:12with little confidence
09:13that the government can be trusted
09:15to tell the truth about anything.
09:18Now, as ranking member,
09:20I asked the chairman
09:22to add a few extra rounds
09:24of questions today
09:25because we each have
09:26five hours of questions,
09:28not five minutes,
09:29but we're stuck with five minutes.
09:30That's clearly insufficient
09:31to give voice to America's victims
09:34and survivors
09:35and to demand answers
09:36about all the corruption
09:37and cover-ups
09:38that we see at D.O.J. right now.
09:40We've got just one round,
09:41so we ask you politely
09:42but firmly,
09:43Madam Attorney General,
09:45please do not waste
09:47one second of our precious time
09:49by evading questions,
09:51by changing the subject,
09:53or engaging in personal attacks
09:55against members of Congress.
09:56We saw your performance
09:57in the Senate
09:58and we're not going to accept that.
10:00This isn't a game.
10:01In the Senate,
10:02you brought something with you
10:03called a burn book,
10:04a binder of smears
10:06to attack members personally
10:07for doing the people's work
10:09of oversight.
10:10Please set the burn book aside
10:12and answer our questions,
10:13and when you hear us reclaim our time,
10:16that means it's time
10:17for you to stop speaking.
10:18We only have five minutes,
10:19so when we reclaim our time,
10:21that means you stop.
10:22And if you don't,
10:23we will ask the chair
10:24to stop the clock
10:25and let you go on his time.
10:27The quality of justice in America
10:29depends on the character
10:30of our government.
10:32Please do your job
10:33and bring the Department of Justice
10:35back from the brink.
10:36The survivors seated behind you
10:38and the American people
10:39watching everywhere
10:40deserve a Department of Justice
10:42worthy of its name.
