00:00Listen, as an attorney, I was wondering exactly where all we were going with her planning to
00:06invoke the Fifth Amendment. You know, Fifth Amendment is about self-incrimination. We all
00:10know that she has been finally convicted. She has exhausted all of her appeals. But they've
00:14decided to file a writ of habeas corpus. In my opinion, they have filed this writ of habeas
00:19corpus just to use it as an excuse to not answer more questions because, again, we know that she's
00:25a monster. We know that a jury was able to listen to all of the evidence and find that
00:30she should be found guilty. And even Donald Trump's Supreme Court, which that is saying
00:35a lot, even his Supreme Court has decided to affirm every single thing that took place on
00:43the trial level. So the fact that this woman is continuing to invoke the Fifth Amendment
00:47tells us exactly what my colleagues have already stated. She is a monster. She does not care.
00:51She has no remorse. She is not seeking to bring about some kind of closure for these women.
00:59She doesn't care. And frankly, it seems like this administration overall does not care.
01:03All they care about is protecting the powerful and protecting pedophiles. They will do anything
01:08to distract from that, including deciding to put up in the middle of Black History Month,
01:14the most racist thing that we've ever seen come out of a White House. But I am here to tell you
01:19that House Democrats specifically on the Oversight Committee and the Judiciary Committee, as we do
01:24have Pam Bondi coming before us here in a minute. We will not be deterred. We will not be distracted.
01:30We know who it is that needs to be held accountable. And we will go in and we will make sure that we
01:36continue to dig. This will not stop us because his co-conspirator decided that she was going to try to
01:43play games with us this morning. I got news for you, Ms. Maxwell. We're not done. We're going to
01:48continue to go. And it is my hope that this court resolves this sham of a, I don't even know what to
01:59call it, this scam of a maneuver that she has filed in court. That is what we will call it.
02:02We hope that that is resolved quickly and we can bring her on back since we're not physically
02:09moving her. She's still in her cushy jail cell down in Texas. We will bring her back so that she
02:15can answer questions and hopefully finally start to answer questions truthfully. Yeah, I mean,
02:19we're standing with them. We have been in communication with those survivors that are really,
02:25there are a certain number of survivors that are really more involved than others and they are
02:32standing for their fellow other survivors. They're out front. We are standing with them and we are
02:37telling them that we're not going to back down, which is why we're very clear about the fact that
02:42yes, this took place today and basically Ghislaine was like, I'm not going to participate, but we're
02:47not going to stop. You know, there were those that thought we would stop when we were able to get the
02:52discharge petition done. There were those that thought we were going to stop when it didn't seem
02:55like we had the votes once we finally got that done. I mean, the house speakers shut the house down
03:00so that we would not go there. Right. And now that they have violated the law, because this is
03:06actually in law, we are not stopping. So I want people to understand that house Democrats,
03:13we are going to be on their asses. Like that's just the reality. And what is your message to
03:17president Trump in that case? Same thing. We're going to be on his ass. I mean, you know, it is,
03:24it is so, I don't really know where we are in this country. Why are we even having this
03:30conversation? The United States is falling apart right now, partially because he's going out and
03:35randomly allowing for the killings of people in the middle of the street. But the other part of it
03:39is that we have a 34 count convicted felon, and there are people that are still shielding him
03:44from any type of accountability as it relates to a child sex trafficking ring. It is time to take
03:52the blinders off. Like, I don't understand why we are pretending like any of this is normal.
03:57And I think that that is the level of frustration that so many people are bringing, whether you're
04:02a Democrat, Republican or independent, specifically to the Epstein file situation. Because right now,
04:07we know that they were willing to try to throw the Clintons in prison for not showing up, yet they
04:14won't even allow us to bring other people into committee who we know are mentioned in these files
04:20and mention so much more. When we went through the hearing as relates to the Clintons, I said,
04:25listen, we know that Donald Trump's name is mentioned more. Bring him in too. Like, I'm not
04:30saying that this should be partisan. This should be whoever. I want to be clear about that. This,
04:35for the Democrats, this isn't partisanship. This is about right versus wrong.
04:39As it relates to that part, I think that we want to speak to anyone who has information.
04:45Now, again, being an attorney, it's been quite frustrating that the Department of Justice has
04:50continued to hold files against the law and against the subpoenas, right? But what you would
04:55normally do is you would start with the evidence. So it's a matter of us taking a look at the evidence
05:00and trying to see who it is that is involved in this very tangled web. I think that we should speak
05:06to anybody, even if that means that we go that high. Now, do I have any evidence to suggest that
05:12there's anything there at this moment? Not necessarily. But I do want to see everything.
05:16And I will be clear about this. When we had our large roundtable where we talked to so many survivors,
05:21they did say that this has impacted high levels of government across the world, not just in England.
05:29They talked about multiple other countries. And so for us, we want to follow this because for all I
05:35know, yeah, we know that Epstein is gone. But does it mean that the ring is gone? Because of the
05:42sophistication in the way that this was set up, we need to make sure that we're not only fortifying
05:46our democracy here, but we need to make sure that there's not some cabal that is operating currently
05:53and still engaging in this type of behavior. And I think that is why it's so important that these
05:59survivors have come forward in this moment, because we don't know that it's not continuing
06:04to go on right now. We just know that Epstein is gone. We know that Maxwell is gone. But
06:10it wasn't just the two of them. And I think that that is why it is important that we review
06:13those files. And anyone that we feel like is involved, based on the files, based on the
06:19evidence, we felt like they need to come forward and speak to us.
