00:02Amazon shoppers are beginning to see price increases as tariff-related costs start to
00:06appear across the company's marketplace, CEO Andy Jassy told CNBC. Speaking at the World
00:12Economic Forum in Davos last month, Jassy said Amazon and many third-party sellers bought
00:17inventory early last year to limit the effects of Trump's tariff agenda. That strategy helped
00:22keep prices lower for a period, but those supplies are now running down. As a result,
00:27some tariff costs are showing up in item prices. Jassy said sellers are responding by either
00:32raising prices or absorbing higher costs to drive demand. He added that consumers remain resilient
00:37but are trading down in price, seeking bargains, and showing more hesitation around higher price
00:43discretionary items. For all things money, visit Benzinga.com.
