Nigeria: Kwara state massacre survivors terrorised, death toll at 162

Nigeria's President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deployed an army battalion to a troubled state after gunmen killed as many as 162 people in one of the country's deadliest attacks in recent months. Residents in the area are terrorised following the massacre.

00:00The aftermath of the massacre lies heavily over the village of Woro.
00:05Here in Nigeria's Quora state, 162 inhabitants were killed late on Tuesday
00:11in one of the country's worst armed attacks in recent months.
00:15Nigeria's President Tinubu deployed the army in response to the killings,
00:20but in the village, the shock is still fresh.
00:23In Woro now, there's nobody in the community.
00:26Everybody is killed, everybody has packed the family, they have left the community.
00:31It's only the security agent that they are just posting yesterday.
00:35It's too much, because as yesterday, we buried our 75 cops.
00:41Elsewhere, there was however also a glimmer of hope.
00:4489 individuals who were kidnapped in mid-January from their churches in Kaduna state were released on Thursday.
