00:00But I don't think there's any question that regardless of who plays in the game, there's still going to be a super amount of hype.
00:06It's just so unusual when you really think about it, that the Patriots were in it and you were covering it, Adam, for so many years.
00:13And it was the superstar. It was Tom Brady. It was Bill Belichick.
00:17And now it's a little bit more of an anonymous team, but a team that still has every chance to win just like Seattle does.
00:23Well, so to your point, you know, like last night, opening night in San Jose, you get sort of the the wild and weird people that will come out dressed in funny costumes, asking funny questions.
00:35You know, like I I think I don't remember if it was Guillermo from the Jimmy Kimmel show or somebody else that asked this question, Stefan Diggs.
00:41But it was, you know, as you ramp up for the Super Bowl and you're getting ready for the big game, what's your favorite Cardi B song?
00:47You know what I mean? It's that kind of thing.
00:49And so that's the stuff they're dealing with until you get to today or the rest of the week.
00:52It's business as usual. And that's when you get your more traditional media that is going out and asking questions of these guys in terms of, you know, just sort of the chaos of the week.
01:01And it is, you know, you forget over the course of these few days that it's all wait.
01:04There is a game at the end of the week because of all the pomp and circumstance that goes into it.
01:09I just think it's so funny that you have New England against Seattle for multiple reasons, one of which is with the backdrop of, you know,
01:16this was the big deal last week and now news breaking this morning as well that, you know, first it's Bill Belichick's not going to the Hall of Fame.
01:24And now Robert Kraft, the owner of the Patriots, has not been elected into the Hall of Fame.
01:27And we look back at, you know, the last time that we're, you know, trying to decipher reasons for why it's like us against the world
01:35and why all the national people are against the Patriots.
01:37Deflategate, right? Which was the story when it was Patriots against the Seahawks.
01:41So here we are more than a decade later, we're still talking about Deflategate and Spygate and cheating and Patriots and Belichick and Kraft.
01:47And it's like, oh, my goodness, guys, like this is a totally different thing.
01:51And I realized that, you know, when Tom Brady's at the podium on opening night, you're going to have that whole massive crowd
01:56and the throng 10 people deep around him.
01:59Well, Drake May, it's the same story because he is, in addition, obviously being in the MVP conversation,
02:04we'll find out whether or not he won that later this week.
02:06As you said, at NFL Honors, he is the star.
02:09I mean, there is no other superstar on this team at any position other than maybe Christian Gonzalez, a pro bowler on the other side.
02:17So it's an incredibly likable group, but much like Seattle, a generally inexperienced group.
02:22This is we've talked about this in terms of Super Bowl betting odds preseason wise.
02:27This is about one of the biggest long shots in NFL history to have New England, who was what, like 80 to one and Seattle, who was 60 to one going into the year.
02:36Nobody expected either of these two teams to be here.
02:39We didn't think we'd be talking about Drake May against Sam Darnold, who's going to win the Super Bowl.
02:43Now, Mike Vrabel and that coaching staff of the Patriots, he has experience in that he's a three time Super Bowl winner as a player.
02:50But obviously, as a coach, he's never been part of this sort of thing.
02:53Mike McDonald on the other side certainly hasn't.
02:55So this is kind of new for everybody, and I'm fascinated to see it.
