00:00so I've seen the film it's incredible okay I'm glad you like it you play such
00:09a good villain in fact you play a lot of villains do you prefer playing the good
00:13guy or the bad guy um I see I want to dispute that I don't play a lot of
00:18you don't think so no but the ones I do play end up being more memorable than my
00:21good guys that's true you have played some some good guys but I think you're
00:25right excuse fast I get I get that I like playing complex characters and I
00:31think writers tend to you know have fun with bad guys you know they get to kind
00:38of get into the psyche of evil a little bit you know you get an opportunity to
00:42play that so who's your all-time favorite villain oh man all-time favorite yes
00:48Travis Bickle was pretty out there Robert De Niro a taxi driver oh that's a good
00:52one yeah he's out there so were you a Trekkie growing up no I wouldn't say
00:57that I did watch Star Trek I watched the show me and my mom and my dad used to
01:01sit in our little living room in Hackney and watch it I'd sit on the sofa yeah
01:05but I wouldn't say I was a Trekkie or a trekker there's a difference so you I
01:10read that it took four hours for you to get into character for this role well into
01:14the costume yes it took about four hours so you have the makeup which is about two
01:20three three hours you know you have to put the teeth in yeah yeah no it's
01:27actually an improvement on my not a chance no truly I see fall asleep wake up
01:31and then the costume which is really tight you know I mean there was no no
01:38sagginess now let's have some fun the movie you're stuck in space it's all
01:43going down in space so other than with me and your family who if you had to be
01:47stuck in space with anyone who would it be I'd be stuck in space with a chef no
01:53that's a smart choice then I could always eat good and what albums are you
01:57bringing what's on the playlist Bob Marley's Exodus album probably Uprising album that's a
02:04great one I would put some Public Enemy in there Jay-Z for sure
02:08Frank Sinatra yeah man Sinatra's a crew now that always relax it up with some
02:17African music in there especially the old Congolese music really soothing so
02:22you'd be rocking in space comfortable what's the wildest craziest thing a fan
02:27has ever just ran up and blurted out to you my husband would let you oh say no
02:33more say no more have you seen those body pillows I've been dying to ask you that
02:37there are Idris Elba body pillows and bathwater mugs and women I kid you not
02:42fully body pillows with your face on it and mugs that say you just I'm not and I'm
02:48just curious if you've seen them really and they're everywhere I was just body
02:52pillows my agent on to this guy and she was cracking so I'll get my 10% of that
02:58yeah you yeah you should get into that so it is it so you're flattered mostly to
03:02be deemed as talented and as gorgeous it is flattering yeah I mean I you know I'm
03:07not you know I'm an actor and as long as I'm good I've got a fan base if I'm
03:11terrible then I wouldn't have any love whatsoever you know so it's nice to be
03:15you're also aging in Reverse congratulations what's your secret
03:20really so what you trying to say when you when you first know I just think you
03:24you know you're ageless and that's the thing like you you know your career keeps
03:28spanning and growing but you look that's a nice turn of phrase aging in
03:32reverse I've never heard that before I think it's more about just being more
03:36comfortable within your skin as you get better at what you do I'm saying and you
03:40understand I understand my fan base a little bit more I understand my industry
03:45more and understand my capabilities more so if that makes me more comfortable
03:48more confident more sexy then I'm in for that and you also just like to have a
03:52lot of fun I do yeah life is worth living yeah well thank you so much thank you very much
