00:11I was more into like soulful hip-hop music that had melody and I was just full of melody
00:17and just had a good feeling and, you know, ten years ago the top ten countdown was probably
00:21hella different type of sound.
00:22Back then, a rapper, should I say, was getting away with making hit songs without melody
00:26but nowadays, you know, you can just see how much R&B has influenced.
00:30The first R&B album that I purchased was actually, and don't laugh at me because everybody might
00:36act the way about this, but it was B2K.
00:40You know, when I went to get that album, I knew I was doing something right.
00:43I went to the concert, girls were crazy, going super crazy, so if it was a group that could
00:48try to match what they did to me to the game, you know, then I would say it but I just don't
00:52know why.
00:53When I was in love, I called myself being in love, it was the Usher Confessions, definitely
00:59college dropout, going into my college years with Jamie Foxx, a lot of classics on me.
01:03Jamie Foxx is another person that I actually grew up on.
01:06Right now, besides We being, you know, number one and, you know, doing numbers, I want to
01:11say probably performing on One Life to Live with Lionel Richie.
01:16Years ago was probably one of my first highlights, but We right now, to me, was a much needed love
01:21song that I felt like that was missing.
01:23If you listen to the radio, there's not really one love song out and I hope that it gives
01:28people a better feeling for the day if they were having a bad day.
01:31I always took music seriously, like this is why I feel like I'm here.
01:34If I gave my younger self advice, it would have been to look in the mirror a lot more,
01:39trust a lot more in that person to get to where I felt like I needed to be.
