The White House has sent a clear signal: India is now a top economic partner of the United States.
Trump’s Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt publicly hails the India–US trade deal, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and highlighting a massive $500 BILLION investment push into the US economy. The remarks underscore a dramatic deepening of India–US economic ties under President Trump, with Washington openly welcoming Indian capital, manufacturing, and strategic cooperation.
The announcement comes amid global trade realignments, rising US–China tensions, and America’s push to diversify supply chains away from Beijing. With India stepping up as a trusted partner, analysts say this deal could reshape global trade flows, strengthen US manufacturing, and elevate India’s position on the world economic stage.

00:00The president struck another great trade deal with India. He spoke with Prime Minister Modi
00:04directly. They share a very good relationship. India committed to not only no longer purchasing
00:09Russian oil, but buying oil from the United States. Prime Minister Modi committed to $500
00:15billion of investments into the United States. The president struck another great trade deal
00:20with India. He spoke with Prime Minister Modi directly. They share a very good relationship.
00:25India committed to not only no longer purchasing Russian oil, but buying oil from the United States,
00:31also perhaps from Venezuela too, which we know will now have a direct benefit
00:35on the United States and the American people. And in addition to that, Prime Minister Modi committed to
00:40$500 billion of investments into the United States, including for transportation, for energy,
00:48and for agricultural products as well. So this is another great trade deal.
00:51Hello, Caroline. What can you tell us about the meeting with President Gustavo Petro?
00:56How was it? Was it in a good tone? What are the results?
00:58I wish I had more for you. The meeting was just wrapping up as I was walking out here,
01:02so I will go in and get a readout from the president, which I myself, or I'm sure he,
01:07will provide to all of you directly on Truth Social. But I spoke with the president before
01:11the meeting, and he was in a very positive head space, and he was looking forward to sitting down
01:16with President Petro to have a conversation. So we will all see how that went together.
01:20Thank you so much, Caroline. What does President Trump mean when he says Republicans ought to
01:25naturalize voting? What does that look like in practice?
01:29What the president was referring to is the SAVE Act,
01:32which is a huge common sense piece of legislation that Republicans have supported,
01:37that President Trump is committed to signing into law during his term. And he spoke with the speaker
01:42directly about that yesterday, about the need to get that bill on the floor for a vote, because
01:47it provides very common sense measures for voting in our country, such as voter ID. I don't think any
01:54rational person who's being honest with themselves would disagree with the idea of requiring citizens
02:00of this country to present an ID before casting a ballot in a federal election, or frankly, in any
02:06election. And that's something the president wants to see happen. So that's what he was referring to.
02:09To be clear, he does believe the state should oversee the president believes in the United
02:14States Constitution. However, he believes there has obviously been a lot of fraud and irregularities
02:19that have taken place in American elections. And again, voter ID is a highly popular and common
02:25sense policy that the president wants to pursue. And he wants to pass legislation to make that happen
02:30for all states across the country. Just to follow up on that. He said specifically
02:34that they should take over elections in 15 states. Can you tell us what he meant by that,
02:38what 15 states he's referring to in terms of Republicans taking over elections?
02:43Again, what I was just telling you is that with the passage of the SAVE Act,
02:46voter ID will be implemented across all 50 states. The president was referring to specific states in
02:52which we have seen a high degree of fraud. If you look at states like California, or if you look
02:56at New York City, for example, non-citizens are allowed to vote in elections in places like California
03:03and New York City. That just creates a system, an electoral system, that is absolutely ripe with
03:08fraud. And you cannot deny the fact that, unfortunately, there are millions of people
03:13who have questions about that, as does the president. He wants to make it right,
03:16and the SAVE Act is a solution to doing it.
03:17The January ISM Manufacturing PMI hit a score of north of 52. It's the best score since August of 2022.
03:28What should that tell Americans about manufacturing activity possibly surging under the Trump
03:33administration?
03:33Well, the president's tariffs are working, and his economic agenda is working. When you combine
03:39tariffs and reshoring American manufacturing and investments in this country, which the president has
03:45played a huge role in directly recruiting those investments from countries and companies all over
03:50the world to the United States, you're creating jobs. We've seen construction jobs have surged in
03:55the past few months. That's because those factories are being built right here in the United States,
03:59and we're putting Americans to work. So our manufacturing sector is obviously something the
04:04president cares a lot about. That's why he's so determined and dedicated to his tariff policy,
04:09which, as you all saw yesterday, the president struck another great trade deal with India. He spoke with
04:14Prime Minister Modi directly. They share a very good relationship. India committed to not only no
04:20longer purchasing Russian oil, but buying oil from the United States, also perhaps from Venezuela too,
04:26which we know will now have a direct benefit on the United States and the American people. And in
04:30addition to that, Prime Minister Modi committed to $500 billion of investments into the United States,
04:37including for transportation, for energy, and for agricultural products as well. So this is
04:43another great trade deal, thanks to President Trump.
04:51Tulsi Gabbard has been tapped by the president of the United States to oversee the sanctity and the
04:57security of our American elections. She's working directly alongside the FBI director, Kash Patel.
05:03This is a coordinated whole of government effort to ensure that our elections, again,
05:09are fair and transparent moving forward. I don't see anything wrong with the president tasking
05:13cabinet member to pursue an issue that most people want to see solved. Maybe you don't,
05:18but I know many Americans do want to make sure our elections are protected. And that's what Tulsi Gabbard
05:22is focused on doing.
05:23Is there something specific that the president has concerns about that led him to ask the director
05:31of national intelligence to go down to Fulton County?
05:33I just explained the president's concerns with voting in this country, and it's something that
05:38he wants to see solved for future elections. And I think that's something all Americans can get behind.
05:43President Trump has called President Petro drug dealer, thug, lunatic, and President Petro has
05:49called the American, the American army to not pay attention to President Trump. Do you think
05:52President Trump had a hope that this relationship could be fixed?
05:56I think the president invited President Petro and accepted that offer for him to meet. President
06:02Petro and the president spoke a few weeks ago. As you know, President Petro said he'd love to come
06:06to Washington. President Trump said, sure, come. So I think that speaks for itself. And again,
06:10I'm sure the president will provide a readout of that meeting.
06:13Yeah, I'm going to talk about the convention.
06:14Given the recent news and what just happened, how much does this escalate tensions ahead of
06:18these critical talks that are happening with Whitcoff?
06:20Well, look, I just spoke with Special Envoy Whitcoff, and these talks, as of right now,
06:25are still scheduled. President Trump is always wanting to pursue diplomacy first. But obviously,
06:32it takes two to tango. You need a willing partner to achieve diplomacy. And that's something that
06:37Special Envoy Whitcoff is intent on exploring and discussing. As always, though, of course,
06:43the president has a range of options on the table with respect to Iran as commander in chief. I think
06:49they learned that quite well last year with the strike in Operation Midnight Hammer, which was wildly
06:55successful and obliterated their nuclear capabilities. But those talks will continue later this week,
07:00as far as we're concerned right now.
07:01President Trump was talking yesterday about how President Putin had agreed to a week long
07:08halt on attacks on Ukraine because of the cold weather. But today, we've seen that Russia has
07:12launched some of the heaviest attacks this month. What's your reaction to that?
07:16Yeah, I spoke with the president about it this morning, and his reaction was, unfortunately,
07:21unsurprised. These are two countries who have been engaged in a very brutal war for several years,
07:27a war that would have never started if the president were still in office. It started
07:31because of the weakness and incompetence of the previous president, Joe Biden. And that's why the
07:36president continues so aggressively to pursue diplomacy to end this war. That's why Special
07:43Envoy Whitcoff and Jared Kushner will be in Abu Dhabi tomorrow for another round of trilateral talks. I
07:48would note the trilateral talks that took place last week or the week prior are historic by nature,
07:54never before have all three of our countries really been able to sit down at the negotiating
08:00table to move the ball forward towards peace. So, Special Envoy Whitcoff and Jared Kushner and
08:07President Trump made the impossible possible with respect to peace in the Middle East. And I know
08:12they're looking to do the same with respect to the Russia-Ukraine war as well.
08:16On Harvard, the president said yesterday he's now seeking a billion dollars from Harvard. One,
08:22how did he arrive at that number? And two, he said he wants criminal, not just civil charges against
08:27individuals at Harvard. Does he want to see Harvard officials arrested there criminally?
08:30Look, I will let the president and also the Justice Department and those who will be pursuing
08:36that against Harvard speak on the specifics of that matter. But I know that
08:40the president wants to see a deal struck with Harvard that is appropriate and that ensures
08:48they are held responsible for the criminal behavior, the illegal behavior, the harassment
08:53and the targeting of Jewish American students on their campus. That took place over the course of the
08:58last year, several years. This is something the administration has been working on over the
09:02course of the last year and the president himself has been directly involved as evidenced by that true
09:07social statement. What does President Trump want to see happen during this two-week negotiation
09:13period for DHS funding? Is he confident that a deal will be reached? And what specifically is he
09:18willing to accept on some of the ICE and Border Patrol reforms that Democrats are asking for?
09:23Well, look, President Trump will be the ultimate decider of any policy changes on anything,
09:30especially with respect to immigration enforcement. What I will tell you is the president is never going
09:36to waver in enforcing our nation's immigration laws and protecting the public safety of the American
09:42people in his ardent support of ICE and Customs and Border Patrol, who, unfortunately, the Democrat
09:48Party has made a decision to demonize. I heard Senator Schumer referring to them as Donald Trump's
09:55Nazi secret police force, I believe, were his words. I don't recall that same language being used when
10:00President Obama was in the White House and was deporting millions of illegal aliens from our country,
10:06using this very same agency and these very same agents, who, by the way, have jobs because of
10:11the laws that were passed by Congress. So as for policy discussions that will take place, Congress
10:16will have those. The president will decide on those. You saw yesterday Secretary Noem announced that DHS
10:23agents on the ground in Minnesota will begin using and wearing body cams. That's something DHS is looking to
10:30roll out nationwide, assuming they have the funding for it. So that could be part of the discussion. I
10:35know Tom Homan has been on the ground in Minnesota. He's there again today for direct dialogue with
10:40state and local officials to move these conversations forward as well. And I think you'll be hearing more
10:46from Mr. Homan tomorrow on some of the progress that has been made. So look, we're willing, obviously,
10:51to have this dialogue and to talk and to listen. But we are not going to concede in enforcing our nation's
10:56immigration laws and delivering on the mandate the president was given by nearly 80 million
11:00Americans to deport illegal alien criminals from our country.
11:05Any preparations for a visit from Delce Rodriguez from Venezuela and your
11:11your statements on the political prisoners situation in Venezuela?
11:15Sure. I don't have a date for a visit at this time. I know it is something that has been discussed,
11:22but no firm plans at this point. As for the release of the political prisoners,
11:26the president and this entire White House, and I think the whole country should be very pleased to
11:31see that. It's a commitment that Ms. Rodriguez made and she has kept and we expect her to continue
11:37to keep on.
11:37The administration is still expecting ICE agents during the Super Bowl. And what are the comments from
11:43President Donald Trump regarding what Bad Bunny said during the Grammy Awards, ICE Out?
11:50I have not spoken with ICE or the Department of Homeland Security or Secretary Noem with respect to
11:55enforcement at the Super Bowl. So I don't want to speak on a topic that I don't have knowledge on.
12:00I'm sorry, but I would defer you to them.
12:02Can I please have Bad Bunny?
12:03I'm sorry?
12:03On the statements of Bad Bunny saying ICE Out?
12:06Yeah, I mean, look, I think it's very ironic and frankly sad to see
12:13celebrities who live in gated communities with private security, with millions of dollars to
12:20spend protecting themselves, trying to just demonize law, again, law enforcement, public
12:27servants who work for the United States government to enforce our nation's laws.
12:32And you didn't hear this same type of uproar from celebrities in Hollywood when the previous
12:38administration allowed an invasion of our nation's borders and allowed innocent women and girls like
12:44Jocelyn Nungere and Laken Riley to be killed and raped and murdered at the hands of people who should
12:50have never been in our country in the first place. And now you have law enforcement who are simply trying
12:54to do their jobs to remove violent predators like those who took the lives of innocent Americans.
13:00There was no uproar from Hollywood and the elitist crowd at the Grammys then, but there is now.
13:05And I think that speaks to the unfortunate irony that we're seeing in Hollywood.
13:10I'm sorry.
13:14President Trump approval ratings has went up in the Hispanic community since the Maduro's capture.
13:20What do you think about that? Because the legacy media said that the Hispanic community is scared
13:25about Trump policies. Yeah, I think it's a great point. But what the president obviously did with
13:30respect to Venezuela was a great thing for all Americans, but especially Venezuelan Americans who
13:37fled Maduro's illegitimate regime because of the horrors of communism. And I think it's a
13:42good lesson for all Americans to learn. Thank you guys.
