00:29So you're Atlanta-born to Ethiopian parents.
00:34What do you think your culture has lent to your musical style?
00:39I think I was exposed to a lot of different types of music when I was growing up.
00:45A lot of people were introduced to your music from being featured on Atlanta.
00:50In Atlanta and shows like Insecure, they really have opened up a lot of people to new artists.
00:57Why do you think it's so important for people like Issa Rae and Donald Glover?
01:01I think it's cool.
01:01I think the platform that they have and how they're using that platform to shine light on other young artists that might be well-known or might not be as well-known, it's really cool that they use their platform in that way.
01:11What was your reaction seeing the episode and hearing your music?
01:15I was happy.
01:16Yeah.
01:17I was like, oh, this is really tight.
01:18If being from Atlanta.
01:19Yeah, no, totally.
01:20It was like all of those things.
01:21I really looked up to Donald Glover.
01:23I have friends that work on that show.
01:25So it was just like a cool, it was like a cool thing.
01:27So tell us about your new project.

01:30So what can fans expect when they hear this new project?

01:41Now speaking of, you're about to go out on your first headlining tour at the end of the month.
01:47So what can fans expect from a Bahana show?
01:50We got the full, we got a full band and it's a lot of the people that actually worked on the album with me.
01:56So it's, it's going to be a real cool experience.
01:58Just like bringing that to the stage and a lot of like this music we made for live shows.
02:03Yeah.
02:04So it's going to be fun, like trying out new things.
02:06And yeah, it's completely different from the last show.
