00:00All right, it took forever, but John Harbaugh now has his offensive coordinator.
00:05He missed out on Todd Munkin, which put a lot of people in panic when Munkin took the head coaching job in Cleveland.
00:11But now the Giants are hiring former Chiefs OC and former Bears head coach Matt Nagy in that same position.
00:19I was wondering for a little bit what they were going to do, but now this Nagy hiring makes sense.
00:24I was wondering if Charlie Weiss Jr. was going to reunite with Jackson Dart since obviously the development of Jackson Dart is what the number one priority when it comes to hiring a John Harbaugh and now a Matt Nagy.
00:38But if you go back to 2018 and you look at what Nagy was able to do with Mitch Trubisky, it is very encouraging for the development of Jackson Dart.
00:48Back in 2018, he went 12-4 with Trubisky and Trubisky even went to the Pro Bowl.
00:54We know what Jackson Dart is able to do when it comes to throwing the football down the field, extending the play with his legs and mobility, but they also like to run him on design quarterback runs and RPOs.
01:06And I feel like Matt Nagy is going to keep that as a part of Jackson Dart's game, but have him be a little bit more cautious when it comes to getting down and not taking any stupid hits.
01:16We know about the success that he had in Kansas City with the Patrick Mahomes as his quarterback coach.
01:23In fact, that led him to getting the head coaching job in Chicago.
01:28So he knows how to build an offense around a quarterback and not an ego per se like a lot of other coordinators who come in and just try and run their system,
01:38a system that's not designed to a specific quarterback and his skill set, but just what the coordinator wants to run.
01:44I also like what he's been able to get out of running backs like Isaiah Pacheco, Damian Pierce, just Kareem Hunt.
01:52There's been a lot of running backs in Kansas City who may not have been all pro, but they were serviceable running backs to where Kansas City was able to get something out of the running back to not rely solely on Patrick Mahomes.
02:06Now, obviously, Patrick Mahomes is Patrick Mahomes.
02:08He'd make any coordinator look great, but the fact that he was able to get a lot out of Mitch Trubisky, in fact, Trubisky had, what, his best season as an NFL quarterback under Nagy,
02:19then you have to be encouraged as a Giants fan.
02:21You have to be encouraged as Jackson Dart that this is the guy that can come in and win right away.
