00:00There are so many great candidates that you're looking at when it comes to the pro football MVP.
00:05By the way, I have a vote when it comes to the Maxwell Awards on looking at who would win the Most Valuable Player Award.
00:14Let's start it off here first with Matthew Stafford.
00:17Matthew Stafford has to be the favorite to win this MVP award.
00:22Great season that he's had this year.
00:24I mean, without a doubt, the guy has gone out and done some spectacular things.
00:28He's had arguably his best season in the National Football League in his entire career.
00:34And if he could close it up by winning an MVP award, I mean, what a better way to sit there and cap off an MVP season.
00:42Then you have the very young Drake May, New England Patriots quarterback.
00:46You know, I love this kid when he came out of North Carolina.
00:49This guy coming out of North Carolina, what was one of the most important things that Mike Vrabel did when it came to him being named the offensive coordinator?
01:02That was the most important job that you could have had Mike Vrabel do.
01:07What's the one thing that he went and said to the owner of the team, Bob Craft?
01:11I want to have, I want to have Josh McDaniel as the offensive coordinator.
01:19You know what, folks?
01:20If you close your eyes just a little bit, open them right now.
01:26And you know what you can see?
01:28Tom Brady characteristics.
01:31The way he throws the ball, the way he checks down, the way he sees the field.
01:36Now, again, last week against Texans, you can't put the ball on the carpet like that.
01:41You've got to play a little bit more consistent.
01:44Probably something, again, that they addressed getting ready for the AFC championship game.
01:49But Drake May has had a great year.
01:52And you know what's cool about what we're going to see potentially in a Super Bowl if it ends up being Rams and Patriots?
01:57You're going to see the old dog and the heir apparent.
02:01If those guys are fortunate enough to punch your tickets getting into the Super Bowl in Santa Clara for Super Bowl 60.
02:07Then you have Josh Allen, the machine, a la machine.
02:13Josh Allen is my favorite athlete in pro football.
02:19He is the best.
02:21Unfortunately, the situation in Buffalo, when you're looking at that roster that he has, make no mistake about it.
02:31Josh Allen is the most gifted player at that position of any quarterback in pro football.
02:39Can't turn the ball over four times.
02:41I get it.
02:42And if Josh Allen doesn't play like Superman and he has a little Clark Kent in him in any particular ball game, make no mistake about it.
02:50That team has no opportunity at winning a game.
02:53And I'm sorry, but we're going to talk a little bit later about the Buffalo Bills nightmare that's going on up there in Orchard Park in a couple minutes.
03:03But I'm sorry.
03:04That team and that roster is just not very good.
03:07That is not a good roster.
03:10Then you have Christian McCaffrey.
03:14CMC is one of the absolutely greatest football players I have ever seen.
03:20Go back to Carolina.
03:21Folks, remember when this guy was catching 100 foot Carolina rushing for a thousand yards, catching the football for a hundred catches.
03:32Christian McCaffrey is one of the more underrated football players.
03:36I get it.
03:37Dude's got to stay healthy.
03:40He's got to be a healthy player for that football team to do anything and to excel.
03:46They did.
03:47They beat the Eagles.
03:48They ended up getting at least into the divisional round games.
03:52That was because of the way of Christian McCaffrey and the way Kyle Shanahan has been able to utilize him.
03:59Hall of Famer?
03:59Maybe.
04:01And then you have Trevor Lawrence.
04:03How about the job that Liam Cohn has done with that football team?
04:07And the job that he has done with the transformation of Trevor Lawrence.
04:11He's basically coached a crappy football out of Trevor Lawrence.
04:15Now, he's a long shot to win this most valuable player award, but Trevor Lawrence put in an absolutely sensational season.
04:23He's put a great year in, and all the things that people were saying about him when he came out of Clemson, he's also in that Josh Allen room when you're talking about athletic ability.
04:36Make no mistake about it, okay?
04:39I mean, look at these guys here, five players.
04:43Who wins the most valuable player award?
04:47Well, me, it's Stafford.
04:49You can make the argument for Drake May, but Matthew Stafford, I think, is going to cap off a spectacular season in his career, and he's going to punch his ticket to Canton, Ohio.
