00:05deposition about filmmaker and actor Justin Baldoni are among the evidence and documents
00:10that have just been unveiled amid the ongoing It Ends With Us legal drama.
00:14During Slate's deposition held on September 26, 2025 in New York for Lively's ongoing case
00:20against Baldoni, several of the actress's texts were read aloud and she addressed on-set issues
00:26working with Baldoni and Wayfarer producer Jamie Heath. At one point, Slate, who played Alyssa,
00:31Baldoni's on-screen sister, stated that filming the movie, quote,
00:34"...has been a really gross and disturbing shoot, and I'm one of the many who feel this way."
00:39She also claimed that she and Lively both complained directly to the studio.
00:43Slate wrote in one message,
00:44"...Justin is truly a false ally, and I'm unwilling to do anything that promotes the image that he's
00:50crafting as a male feminist. Honestly, I have no words to describe what a fraud he is."
00:55Slate added in another text,
00:57"...I honestly have never encountered anything like this dude. He's the biggest clown and the
01:01most intense narcissist. Lots of lessons learned."
01:05In one message to her former agent in May 2023 during production on the film, Slate wrote,
01:10"...this week was really intense for a few reasons. It's, like, fascinating and also so.
01:15Justin and Jamie are truly unfit. I'm not scared or anything, just repulsed and deeply irritated.
01:20And I know Blake is experiencing that on a much more serious level."
01:24As for Swift, Lively's longtime friend's name has come up repeatedly in the ongoing legal battle.
01:29In newly unveiled messages from 2023, Lively referred to Baldoni as the doofus director of
01:34my movie in a message to Swift, adding that he is a clown who thinks he's a writer now.
01:39In another message, Lively asked Swift to endorse a revised version of the script
01:43she was proposing to Baldoni. Swift allegedly replied,
01:46"...I'll do anything for you." In a later message, Lively allegedly wrote to the singer that
01:50she was, quote, "...so epically heroic today." Lively also wrote to Swift, in part,
01:55"...you are the world's absolute greatest friend ever." In 2024, Swift sent Lively a screenshot of a
02:00People magazine story about Baldoni, saying he was, quote, "...sexually traumatized by an ex-girlfriend."
02:06Swift allegedly wrote, "...I think this... knows something is coming, because he's gotten out his
02:10tiny violin." The New York Times expose about Baldoni and Lively's feud was also set to be published
02:15at the time. Lively wrote back, in part, "...it rings different when he doesn't end the story by
02:20saying, did I always listen when they said no? No, like he did with me. But that must not have tested
