00:00While discussing the roster with Brandon Bean, Mr. Pagula, the owner of the Bills, interrupted the press conference to drop a hammer on Sean McDermott and on a player currently on the Bills roster, Keyon Coleman. Listen to this.
00:20A bad call. Can I interrupt? I'll address the Keyon situation. The coaching staff pushed to draft Keyon. I'm not saying Brandon wouldn't have drafted him, but he wasn't his next choice.
00:44That was Brandon being a team player and taking advice of his coaching staff.
00:54Wow. So the coaching staff wanted to draft Keyon Coleman, who had a couple of games as a rookie, looked like he might become a very good wide receiver, had that great press conference when he first went to Buffalo.
01:05The Macy's coat and all that stuff.
01:07And he's really a personable kid. He got benched two or three games this year for conduct, unbecoming of a professional, late for meetings, maybe not paying attention to meetings, that kind of immature stuff.
01:20He had a touchdown in the playoff game. He dropped a touchdown in the playoff game.
01:24And to be fair, he has been a disappointment in Buffalo based on where he got drafted.
01:28And the fact that anybody right now has the chance, if you're on the roster, to step up and become the number one target for Josh Allen.
01:37Shakir became that guy. But Coleman's a better athlete.
01:41Yes. So I give Shakir a lot of credit. He's made himself invaluable and got the big contract last offseason because Josh Allen trusts him, right?
01:48But if you're Keyon Coleman right now and you just heard the owner come out and say,
01:53Brandon Bean did not want to draft Keyon Coleman, I'm paraphrasing here, and the move was really forced on him by the coaching staff.
02:02Well, Keyon Coleman's not going to be a bill next year.
02:05Can't be.
02:05Is that fair?
02:06It's absolutely fair.
02:07And the other part is, though.
02:08That's crazy to me.
02:09It's crazy. And we can't verify it.
02:11Now that the dermis is not there, we don't know whether or not Bean liked him or not.
02:15This is my problem with it when the owner steps in like that.
02:18Because, and also, I'm worried about his age.
02:20I'm just going to say that on the side.
02:22Well, you also, you frankly, have been very insensitive to older people.
02:27I have not been insensitive.
02:28That's what you're known for.
02:29I love old people.
02:30No, no. You're like, I'm worried about his age?
02:32I'm worried about his age.
02:33No.
02:34I am worried about it.
02:35The guy's healthy as an ox.
02:37I don't know that.
02:37I do.
02:38He might be healthy physically.
02:40Yeah.
02:40But those words, right?
02:42How does that help anything?
02:44Well, what he's doing is that he's trying to publicly support the decision to promote Bean to president slash GM.
02:51And also, also support the decision to fire the head coach who's the second best head coach you've had in the franchise's history next to Marv Levy.
03:01Right.
03:01A guy that in nine years took you from an 18-year run of not being in the postseason, even with Rex Ryan going there.
03:10Right.
03:10And made you a perennial playoff team.
03:13Now, to be fair, to be fair, Rex Ryan didn't have Josh Allen.
03:17Fair enough.
03:18Okay?
03:18But.
03:19Rex Ryan and Ryan Fitzpatrick.
03:20Right.
03:21As his quarterback.
03:21Right.
03:22Not Josh Allen.
03:22But who got him?
03:23Because this is my issue.
03:24Go ahead.
03:25Okay, let's say he.
03:26Pardon me.
03:26I think, Rex Ryan, fact check me on this, I think year one had J.P. Lossman as his quarterback, which is the guy that, you know, is currently working at ShopRite.
03:37Yes.
03:37He actually said to me yesterday, do you want paper or plastic?
03:41Right.
03:41And I was like, I appreciate the fact you've still got good work ethic, J.P.
03:44Way to go.
