00:00this morning we were given a lot of big news and one of the biggest stories now percolating around
00:06the NFL is the fact that the Buffalo Bills are looking for a new head coach that's right Sean
00:12McDermott after nine years and arguably one of the best runs in terms of playoffs for the Bills
00:17in their history has been shown the door he's been fired looking for a new gig the Bills of course
00:22will now have to hire a new head coach 10 changes at head coach this season in the National Football
00:29League eight still available and naturally a lot of interviews going on including his offensive
00:34coordinator Joe Brady who's making the rounds right now as well now the reason perhaps that this
00:39happened was because of another early exit in the playoffs which was one of the most exciting games
00:45in the NFL playoffs thus far the Broncos defeated the Bills 33 to 30 in overtime Denver one and a
00:53half point favorites in the game a back and forth affair constantly but naturally the Bills lose by
00:59three or less points in the playoffs three straight seasons Josh Allen with a number of turnovers in
01:04this game and even the bigger story out of this one is Denver advances to play in the AFC championship
01:11and won't have their starting quarterback Bo Nix suffered a broken ankle and is having surgery
01:16Jarrett Stidham is going to have to start for Denver against his former team in New England we'll get
01:21to the Patriots in a minute here's Sean Payton with the announcement after the game
01:25not good news on the second to last play in overtime Bo fractured a bone in his right ankle
01:34he's scheduled to have surgery Tuesday of this week which will put him out for the rest of the season
01:44um steady he's ready to go um and it was yeah it was the second to last play before he threw the
01:54uh the pass to um Mims uh it's extremely difficult
01:59I feel like I yeah I feel like I let my let my teammates down tonight
02:06it's missed opportunities throughout the game
02:08it's been a long season I hate how it ended and that's uh
02:15it's gonna stick with me for a long time
02:18no no Super Bowl for Josh Allen and as of now no head coach as well meanwhile the New England
02:24Patriots as I mentioned headed back to the AFC championship game took a few years off after
02:29the Tom Brady era but here they are again 28 to 16 as they defeat the Houston Texans CJ Stroud through
02:36four interception this one tough game for him Patriots are three and a half point favorites they
02:40covered relatively easily Drake May although did fumble four times in the game weather probably had a
02:45lot to do with it but Mike Vrabel who of course played a big role in the Patriots success over the
02:52years as well talked about getting the win for his organization after well I'm always excited for
02:59our organization excited for the players um I am appreciative of their work and their efforts
03:06um you know somebody everybody's stepping up we're using everybody everybody's making plays
03:12everybody's helping us win I'm excited for these guys but they're also uh they're not satisfied and
03:17I can tell that and uh it wasn't pretty um defense kept us in there and then when we needed it
03:23you know our offense was able to come through uh late in the game there um in the second half with a
03:28touchdown give us a two score lead and then I felt like that drive uh backed up there from the three
03:33yard line where we ran the ball and took a lot of clock was was pretty classy to come here when we
03:38needed it most we didn't protect the ball and it's tough to think that you're gonna you know win a game
03:45when you turn the ball over five times and so and we still had opportunities there guys still battle
03:52that's why I love this team even though you know you shouldn't be able to come back from five
03:57takeaways we were still fighting we're still scratching the clawing to be in that position
04:01absolute nail biter in Chicago last night as the Bears needed a long touchdown at the very end of the
04:10game looked like almost a Hail Mary to stay in this one and push it to overtime against the Rams but in the
04:16Los Angeles is now headed to the NFC championship game as they end up kicking a field goal to win
04:22the Rams were three and a half point favorites so they don't cover that spread in Chicago McVay the
04:2720th coach with 10 playoff wins only 40 years old what a run he has had McVay discussed the final
04:34moments of overtime driving down the game to win I thought Matthew did a great job of finding Colby
04:40early in that drive to be able to get up the sidelines for the first first down
04:43Devontae makes an unbelievable catch on the sideline and then I thought the third and six
04:48conversion that Nakua had we took the timeout didn't like the look Matthew finds him and he's
04:53so strong and and then we were able to get a few more yards and then Mivas punches it in and so
04:58hell of a deal right there but a lot of that we can learn from you know I'm just really proud of this
05:04football team and the resolve it's it's served us well I think we've needed that in each of the last
05:07two games and we'll have to be better if we expect to be able to you know come away with the result
05:11we want against a you know a special football team next week but we're excited to get a chance back
05:16at Lumen you know they ended up making a couple more plays than we did and and that's why ended up
05:23going into overtime and they ended up coming out on top and so um you know like I said disappointing
05:29result um our guys are feeling it right right now um they all believed man they all believed all year
05:37long that that uh we could find a way to win each and every week and uh and so it's disappointing
05:43like that but there was only one no contest this weekend it was the knockout that the Seahawks
05:49delivered at the expense of the San Francisco 49ers 41 to 6 Seattle six and a half point favorites they
05:54won by a lot Seahawks led seven nothing 13 seconds into the game Rashid Shaheed returned to kick for a
06:03touchdown second most lopsided playoff loss by the way in 49ers history but naturally the defense
06:10was the story San Francisco could do nothing basically from start to finish in this one
06:15so that has Mike McDonald excited about what's next to come just you know kept stacking plays
06:19the takeaways on defense kept playing um you know quarterback's a hard guy to contain and he makes
06:25plays and so you know you can't get frustrated you got to keep playing and then offensively being able
06:30to control the ball ball number being in jeopardy being able to run it scoring on the reds and all
06:34those things we've been trying to do finally coming to life and you just keep stacking those things and
06:38um it was a heck of a win man and it's funny in the locker room it's like you know we're really
06:43excited we're very proud of the effort and but the guys understand that there's still a mission at hand
06:48and uh we got another week coming up here that uh we need to take care of business every day so
06:53that's the focus proud of the group um we'll celebrate today guys will be off tomorrow and back
07:00on Monday you know we obviously were real disappointed with today we obviously didn't have
07:04it today um credit to them um try not to harp on that uh I try to you know what we can discuss some of
07:10that stuff on Monday when we get back together but I just thanked them for the whole season how much
07:14they battled through everything uh I know everyone in there was sick about tonight um and the way that
07:19went um in every facet um but I try not to make about tonight when I was in there with them just
07:24kind of thanked them for what they've done all year and um I've been extremely extremely proud of
07:28everyone in that room throughout this year meanwhile after all that we have another game tonight in
07:33college football it's the national championship game Indiana takes on Miami at Hard Rock Stadium the
07:38home of the Hurricanes and the Hoosiers seven and a half point favorites down from eight or eight and a
07:43half money seemingly coming in on Miami late total 47 and a half 730 kickoff
