00:25If they matter that much, then you'll probably fall in love with the Adolfo Suarez Madrid Barajas Airport.
00:30Just outside the city limits of Spain's capital Madrid,
00:33about 12 kilometers away from the city center,
00:36Spain's new gateway to the world, the Madrid Barajas Airport.
00:41The architecture here is stunning, boasting gigantic windows that offer visitors gorgeous panoramic views,
00:47just about everything in sight.
00:48Meanwhile, the atmosphere within the Adolfo Suarez Madrid Barajas Airport is warm, inviting, and well-lit.
00:53One of the things that's amazing about Madrid is the daylight.

01:03There's also a low amount of canceled flights to be found here, which is impressive,

01:22then you'll probably appreciate the food choices within the Vienna International Airport in Austria.
01:26This hub doesn't try to cater to every traveler's tastes, and instead revels in celebrating Austrian cultural history.
01:32This means that you'll be able to grab a cold beer or a warm pretzel while you're waiting for your flight.
01:36Additionally, Vienna International is easy to reach from just about any tourist hotel,
01:40which is a good thing since the airport didn't offer e-gates at the time of this writing.

01:45Number 8. Istanbul Airport, Turkey
01:47One of the newer airports on our list, this hub for Turkish international travel has a lot going for it.
01:52This airport was opened in 2018 and boasts both efficiency and modern amenities,
01:57as it offers a fleet of robots to direct passengers to their flights.
02:00This has made the Istanbul Airport a major competitive player,
02:03with some publications ranking it as the top international airport in the world.
02:07The facility features a variety of dining options, from quick bites to fine dining,
02:11including traditional Turkish coffee and cuisine.
02:13Passengers can even choose to take showers here before relaxing in any of the spacious and indulgent lounge areas.
02:19Number 7. Zurich Airport, Switzerland
02:22Speaking of lounge areas, Zurich Airport and Switzerland both some of the best around,
02:27particularly when it comes to popping in for a drink.
02:29Whiskey, fine champagne, and more are made available for those who can spring a little extra for lounge access.
02:34Meanwhile, the shopping at this facility is duty-free,
02:37which makes picking up souvenirs or gifts an absolute breeze.
02:40Layovers are also easy to love at Zurich Airport, since there's a wide variety of restaurant options,
02:45in addition to bar areas for those who opted not to go for the lounge.
02:48Number 6. Munich Airport, Germany
02:50There's often a lot of extra amenities travelers can enjoy if they're willing to pay the price,
02:54but for any thrifty spenders out there, you'll appreciate the free lounges offered at Munich Airport in Germany.
02:59That said, there are elevated options with swanky food choices for those willing to pay a few hundred euros,
03:04including some deliciously traditional German wurst.
03:07Munich Airport also goes all out for the holiday,
03:10setting up beautiful Yuletide decorations complete with an indoor ice skating rink.
03:14The on-site Hilton was also voted the best European airport hotel in 2024,
03:18which makes staying a bit longer at Munich Airport something we certainly won't mind doing,
03:22the next time we're at Germany.
03:23Number 5. Dubai International Airport, United Arab Emirates
03:27A lot of people come and go through Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates.
03:31It is the busiest airport in the world by international passenger traffic,
03:35which could lead some to believe that it's unpleasant to visit,
03:38but that couldn't be further from the truth.
03:39Instead, Dubai International has pretty much everything covered for an extended layover.
03:43Fine dining? Check.
03:45Tons of shopping? Double check.
03:46Actually make that triple check, since this airport specializes in duty-free everything for your carry-on.
03:52The nuts and bolts of the technology here is also excellent,
03:54as Dubai International spares no expense to ensure top-notch efficiency and security.
03:59Number 4. Haneda Airport, Japan
04:01Those visiting Tokyo, Japan for the first time probably arrive there via Narita International,
04:06which is the busiest international airport in Japan.
04:09But as it is located 45 miles away from the capital city,
04:12another facility, the Haneda Airport, has begun to grow in popularity,
04:16especially among those who feel anxious about flying.
04:18That's because there are sensory lounges within Haneda Airport that are designed to help ease such anxieties.
04:23This hub just seems to get it, from providing a clean and visually pleasant interior,
04:27to doing their best to ensure the comfort of their guests.
04:30With a closer proximity to downtown Tokyo and more efficient transportation links,
04:34Haneda seems to be the ideal gateway to the city.
04:37Number 3. Incheon International Airport, South Korea
04:40Everybody loves to talk about the cool things to eat, see, or buy while waiting within an airport terminal.
04:45Incheon Airport in Seoul is part of a growing number of airports
04:48that are using smart technology to transform the way people fly.
04:52But what about those things that we don't like thinking about, like parking?
04:56If you're one of the many who didn't manage to convince somebody to drive you to the airport,
04:59then you're going to have to leave your car there at the hub.
05:02This can often be a frustrating experience,
05:04but thankfully Incheon International Airport in South Korea makes finding a spot affordable.
05:08Once inside, everything from spas to a freaking movie theater awaits guests at Incheon International.
05:13The airport has also earned high marks for customer satisfaction in the cancellation rate department,
05:18which remains low.
05:19It's not really about whether Incheon Airport ranks first or second,
05:24but rather I want Incheon Airport to be a model that sets a framework for the industry.
05:29Number 2. Hamid International Airport, Qatar
05:32We admit that we're not exactly the sorts of flyers that want to even think about hitting the gym in an airport,
05:37but Qatar's Hamid International offers just that if you're so inclined.
05:40It sounds too good to be true, right?
05:42The airport is bustling with crowds, drawn to its shopping, dining, and lounging, and for good reason.
05:48Hamid boasts some of the best amenities around.
05:50It's not hard to understand why so many travelers treat this airport as more than a transit,
05:55but rather as part of their destinations.
05:57Plus, their flights are often on time with an impressively low cancellation rate of just 0.2%.
06:01High-end shopping is also made available to guests,
06:04although some have complained about how intimidating and confusing Hamid International can be for first-time flyers.
06:10With a destination in itself like this, you'll most likely never want to leave.

06:36This top entry probably comes as no surprise to anybody that's a frequent flyer.
06:40Singapore Changyi Airport routinely tops lists like these, and for good reason.
06:44This is the best airport in the world.
06:46Heck, we wouldn't fault anyone for just stopping into Singapore Changyi for a bite to eat,
06:50regardless of whether or not they're actually flying somewhere.
06:53This is the reputation the airport has earned for its culinary options.
06:56The decor is also gorgeous at Singapore Changyi, with an indoor waterfall that must be seen to be believed.
07:01In the middle sits the Rain Vortex.
07:04At 130 feet tall, it's the tallest indoor waterfall in the world.
07:08It runs 24-7, using mostly recycled rainwater.
07:12None of this would probably matter if the flights weren't on time, but thankfully they are.
07:16Although we're not sure anyone would want to actually leave Singapore Changyi once inside.
