00:00Was that the perfect race for you? Was that absolute perfection?
00:07It was bloody tough. It was a really, really tough day out there today.
00:12I actually wouldn't say it was perfect from the team.
00:14I think it was a pretty big, maybe not an error on our part to miss that move,
00:19but it put a lot of pressure on our team to chase in the final.
00:21It was a very, very strong breakaway, so we're lucky that we had the strength to bring it back,
00:25but it was pretty touch and go there in the final, I think.
00:28What surprised you more, your finish yesterday or the fact that you win today?
00:33I would say today. I think I suffered a lot today.
00:39I think it was the heat. I wasn't quite used to it.
00:41I just didn't have the greatest feeling out there today,
00:44so I'm just happy that I could really mentally switch in the final and be there for the sprint.
00:49You said yesterday it would be rude not to honour the jersey.
00:53How are your emotions with how you and the team rode today having the jersey?
00:57Yeah, I'm feeling so proud. Proud of myself, actually, and really proud of the team.
01:02I think we rode, they rode so selflessly today,
01:05and we were fully committed to protecting this jersey and keeping it in the team,
01:09so I cannot thank them enough for the work that they did today.
01:12But, yeah, I think it's a really good step in my development to still have the jersey going into day three.
01:19I think the last time I was in this jersey it didn't end too well for me,
01:22so, yeah, I'm really excited to take it into tomorrow.
01:25We've seen you on the hills two times, of course,
01:27tomorrow I'll be a dollar for you, right?
01:28I just feel you're now a climber.
01:31Oh, I wouldn't go. I wouldn't go that far.
01:33Yeah, I think it could be a miracle if I make it over tomorrow,
01:37but, yeah, I'll still give it a good red-hot crack.
01:40Trying for a miracle.
01:41Yeah.
01:42At what point did you think today that you were in a chance to have a chance to switch to the finish?
01:46I think probably within the last lap I knew if I was there with one lap to go
01:51that we would be hunting for the bunch sprint.
01:54It was pretty, yeah, like I said, very touch-and-go with the breakaway there,
01:56so I didn't actually know if I would have a chance to sprint for the win.
02:00But, yeah, I would say with the lap to go I knew I was in with a good chance.
02:04And how do you approach tomorrow?
02:06I'll have to go home and think about it.
02:08Yeah, for now I'll just enjoy the win.
02:12Yeah, the wins don't come often in the sport and you lose more than you win,
02:15so just enjoy tonight with the team and then come in with a fresh mind tomorrow
02:19and see how it goes.
02:21The team's obviously been built around you to a great extent for this race.
02:25Do you have someone, if it's not you tomorrow,
02:27do you have someone who could animate or could feature in the Corks Group Climbs?
02:32Yeah, for sure.
02:33I think Lauren Dixon, she's a real unknown in the peloton at the moment
02:36and the way she was climbing today was absolutely phenomenal.
02:39She was all over almost every attack in the start,
02:42so I think she could be a really good card to play tomorrow.
02:45But yeah, our whole team is really set up with really strong riders,
02:49so yeah, we're looking forward to it.
02:51Great, thank you.
02:52Thanks, guys.
02:53We love you.
02:53Who's choosing?
02:54Which choosing?
02:55Oh, the leader's choosing.
02:57I was chopping and changing.
