An estimated 1.9 million people took part in the 461st Fiesta Señor Solemn Foot Procession honoring the Señor Santo Niño on January 17. Participants walked the 5.5-kilometer route from and back to the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño, passing major roads and surrounding streets. Worshippers moved shoulder to shoulder under the midday sun, carrying candles, towels, and images of the Holy Child as acts of prayer, sacrifice, and thanksgiving. The Solemn Foot Procession is the religious centerpiece of Fiesta Señor for the Sinulog Festival on Sunday, January 18.
