00:00You obviously signed a lot of players again in the summer.
00:05How much time do you or the club take into profiling these players
00:10and just doing the checks to see that they're good eggs?
00:14How important is that for you?
00:16The ideal scenario is that we spend all the time that is necessary
00:20to nail the process and to understand exactly
00:23how we envision that player joining our club
00:26and the team and the relationship that we want to build there,
00:29and the reality is sometimes as well that when it's an opportunity
00:33and you have to act, not enough.
00:35But we have to try to be prepared as usual
00:38and I think we had in general very good choices
00:42and the type of character and personality that we have recruited are top.
00:46Have there been some occasions over the last few years
00:50where maybe a player has been offered to you and a very good player
00:55and you thought maybe he's not the right player to us?
00:59I think you put everything in balance.
01:02If you know that...
01:04Because I don't think he's going to be a bad person,
01:06can he deal with the role and what are the consequences to that more than anything else?
01:11If we believe that he can fulfil the role and make us better
01:14and we can deal with that with all the characters that we have, it's fine.
01:19But at the end it's a decision that has to be balanced in every area,
01:22it's not just one thing, I think.
01:24Yes, sir?
01:25Hi, Makao.
01:26Hi.
01:27I've got a previous question with Alba.
01:28We don't know too much about him.
01:29He's obviously been part of his staff since 2019.
01:31They said that you struck a rapport with him.
01:33I think in Wales when you're doing your coaching with him.
01:36What did you see in Alba to bring him into your coaching staff?
01:39First, top person.
01:41You know, someone that is so easy to work, so open, so experienced
01:47and so good at dealing with a lot of people in departments
01:50because he has massive experience and the social skill to do that
01:54and then somebody obviously in the tactical, technical, methodology level, top.
02:00So, yeah, that's why he's been with us for a long time
02:03and we'd love to have him in the team.
02:05What do you mean by the tactical, the methodology?
02:09That he's really good, the way he's been raised, educated,
02:13the experience I had with other coaches as well, very rich.
02:16He brings other ideas and other ways of thinking as well
02:20and he has a very clear opinion about what he wants.
02:24He's really good at transmitting that
02:26and he's someone very, very valuable in the team.
02:28You've had a lot of coaching staff over your tenure so far.
02:31Obviously with Alba, he's obviously very experienced,
02:33worked amongst United and Wales too.
02:36In terms of other stuff you've had in the past with his experience,
02:39is there anything in particular you thought
02:41while he has that extra dimension because of his experience?
02:44With Albert?
02:45Yeah.
02:46Yeah, but at the end as well it's the chemistry
02:48that you feel with the person, you know,
02:50and immediately the first time that we got together
02:52and we started talking about the possibility of working together,
02:56we had a good energy, we had a good feeling about it.
03:00And then, yeah, you need to go through a lot.
03:03But especially when there are difficult moments,
03:06that's when you see people and your staff,
03:08and Albert in that sense, he stopped.
03:11When things are going well, maybe you don't want to see him too much,
03:14but when you have to make a decision that is a problem,
03:16so he has to deal with something,
03:18he will be there and he will get things done.
03:20That's a big quality of his.
03:21Okay, last couple.
03:22Ed, copy.
03:23Hi, Michael.
03:24Just talking about a new member of your coaching staff,
03:27you fired the Thomas Gronhardt throw-in coaching.
03:30Can you just tell us why you brought him in?
03:33No, there's no comment about that.
03:36Okay.
03:37And just the...
03:39Is that an area that you're looking to try and improve on?
03:42We try to improve every single area,
03:44every single margin that we possibly can to be a better team
03:48and anybody can help us.
03:49In many areas we have many experts,
03:51many people around trying to help us to become as good as we can.
03:57Why do you think there's been such an increase in longer pros
04:01in terms of what it was last season?
04:04We cannot look at the game only in that sense.
04:06There is a consequence of what happens in other phases
04:09and the time that the teams are spending in certain areas
04:13that has a consequence on some specific areas of the game.
04:17But there is a lot of things that happened before that, in my opinion.
04:20Hi, Michael.
04:22You're obviously on an excellent run of form
04:24but most of the recent victories have been quite narrow victories
04:27by the scoreline.
04:28I suppose that you faced the season with the injuries,
04:33like how many more levels do you think this team might have to go?
04:38I think we have still a lot of improvement to do
04:41in a lot of departments
04:43and that's the ambition that we have identified
04:46and we have identified constantly things that we can do much better,
04:50especially things that can give us bigger margins with very little tweaks.
04:53And speaking, how much would you like to see
04:57maybe a few heavier victories over the coming weeks
05:01and I need to rotate the team more?
05:03Yeah, that's what we want.
05:06We have some big victories recently as well for big margins
05:10but ideally, yeah, I will sleep and rest in the touchline much more.
05:14Okay, everyone. Thanks a lot.
