00:02Alphabet shares rebounded in 2025 as Google accelerated its AI product rollout after
00:07earlier concerns about competition from OpenAI, according to CNBC. Much of the progress came
00:13from DeepMind, which founder and CEO Demis Hassabis described as the core of Google's
00:18AI development. Hassabis said structural changes allowed faster deployment of AI across Google
00:23products and closer coordination with CEO Sundar Pichai. The collaboration is critical as Google
00:29faces continued competition from OpenAI and other AI companies, including Amazon, Perplexity
00:35and Anthropic. Hassabis said the current AI landscape is a competitive environment and the most intense
00:41many longtime tech veterans have ever seen. Google combined DeepMind with its brain unit in 2023,
00:47a move that supported the launch of the Gemini AI Assistant. Hassabis said Google was slow to
00:53commercialize AI early, but regain momentum with Gemini 2.5 in March 2025 and Gemini 3 in November.
