00:07as public anger grows over the non-implementation of an agreement
00:11between the Government of Pakistan and the Joint Awami Action Committee.
00:15Protest leaders accuse the authorities of backtracking on their commitments,
00:19particularly regarding political representation and governance reforms.
00:24According to the committee, the agreement promised the abolition
00:27of 12 reserved seats allocated to migrants residing in Pakistan.
00:32However, instead of scrapping these seats,
00:35the same individuals have reportedly been reappointed as chairpersons of assembly committees
00:41and granted official privileges.
00:44Moves, the committee says, clearly violates the terms of the agreement.
00:48The protests come amid allegations of excessive force and targeted action against youth activists.
