00:01Fly for the passion of football with Royal Air Morocco.
00:09Hello everybody, I'm Mohamed Alashi from Casablanca.
00:12And I'm Anna Cayola in Rabat.
00:15And welcome to Football Now AFCON Special.
00:18It's a big day, semi-final day with both matches happening today.
00:22You can really feel it, can't you?
00:24Absolutely. The city is buzzing.
00:26Not just around the stadiums, but everywhere.
00:31So what have you been up to over the past couple of days, Anna?
00:34Just exploring the city.
00:36While the tournament is on, there's a full other energy here.
00:41Art, culture, creativity everywhere.
00:46I discovered the Abla Ababu Gallery.
00:49A contemporary art space that brings together creativity, dialogue and culture.
00:55During AFCON, the gallery is hosting Jeux d'Artistes.
00:59A collective exhibition that explores play as a universal language from sport
01:05and strategy to memory, ritual and emotion.
01:27Well, the country is gearing up for the second semi-final.
01:33Morocco against Nigeria here in Rabat.
01:36How's the atmosphere over there in Royal Air Morocco fan zone in Casablanca, Mohamed?
01:43It's a very special one here. The design is fantastic.
01:46The entrance looks like an airplane cabin.
01:49And fans are getting us a full immersive experience.
01:52At the first time, we know that the game was very difficult.
01:59We don't have a lot of chance, you know, to score a goal.
02:04But at the second time, our team, our players, take the ball.
02:08Our players control the game and made a beautiful, beautiful goal
02:13that leaves us, that reach us to the final.
02:16What a match. Senegal goes through at the expense of the Faroes.
02:25Wow, the images coming from Tantir are wild.
02:28Speaking of Morocco, have you been exploring the country beyond football over the past few days?
02:35Haven't you, Mohamed?
02:37Yeah, the Moroccan Football Museum in Rabat.
02:40Its director Zaidou Akrim gave me a really cool tour.
02:43From the moment you step in, the museum pulls you into Moroccan football.
02:49It's not just about trophies, it's about decades of achievements for men and women.
02:54We have this timeline with the most important events in the history of Moroccan football
03:01since the beginning of the past century.
03:04The museum traces the history of Moroccan football,
03:07celebrating its players and moments that made the country proud.
03:10Moroccan-African Golden Balls from Faroes won in 75,
03:15Timoumi in 85, Zaggy in 86, and Hajji in 98.
03:20So, what's next for the museum?
03:25Zaid told me that they plan to add another AFCON trophy if they win it,
03:30and they're hoping that they do.
03:32We'll have to see.
03:33And now, the scenes are wild.
03:35It's time for the showdown.
03:36The host, the Atlas Lions, taking on the Super Eagles.
03:40The match was crazy because we don't know until the end, and of course, we won.
03:50The penalty shutouts were very, very crazy.
03:57It's okay. We don't care about how we won.
03:59We want to see the final on Sunday.
04:02And Inshallah to bring back the trophy.
04:21From the fan zone, here in Casablanca, Morocco win on penalties and reached the final.
04:26In Rabat, the reaction is huge. Celebration across the country tonight.
04:31Next up for the host, Senegal.
04:33Before that, the third-place playoff, Egypt against Nigeria on January 17.
04:38The final follows on the 18th, Morocco versus Senegal.
04:43A massive showdown ahead.
04:45It's going to be one for the history books.
04:47We'll see you at the final.
04:49See you, Mohamed.
