00:00First Venezuela, then Colombia, and now Cuba, the latest Latin American nation to catch the
00:06ire of President Trump. The commander-in-chief boasted on Sunday about cutting Cuba off from
00:11Venezuelan money and oil before warning, quote, I strongly suggest they make a deal before it is
00:17too late. Now, the president didn't expand on what kind of deal he's looking for from the
00:21communist Caribbean nation, and Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel did not take kindly to the
00:27threat, posting on X, quote, Cuba is a free, independent, and sovereign nation. Nobody
00:32dictates what we do. The White House claims that Cuban security forces were protecting
00:37Venezuelan dictator-turned-American prisoner Nicolas Maduro when the U.S. took him into custody earlier
00:42this month. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, whose parents fled Cuba in the 1950s, had this to say
00:49shortly after Maduro's capture. If I lived in Havana and I was in the government, I'd be concerned
00:53at least a little bit. And when an ex-user joked over the weekend that Rubio would be president
00:58of Cuba, President Trump posted in response, quote, sounds good to me.
