00:00Well, they should never have been piling up these costs on pubs in the first place.
00:04These are the wrong decisions.
00:06But it's typical of a pattern that we're seeing here,
00:08whether it's wind of fuel payments, whether it's welfare reform,
00:14whether it's the farm tax, etc.,
00:15where the government has basically been controlled by their backbenchers
00:18having taken the wrong decisions in the first place.
00:21We need to get getting the cost pressures on pubs down,
00:24and we have said we will scrap business rates for pubs,
00:26but we will do it with a plan behind that,
00:28which is, amongst other things, getting on top of the welfare bill.
