With parts of South Australia still being impacted by the algal bloom, local and interstate tourists are factoring it into their summer holiday plans. Beachport in the state's southeast is one of the towns benefiting, with locals hoping to convert new visitors into returning travellers.

00:05Despite a windy and chilly start to summer, tourists have still flocked to SA's Limestone

00:13In Beachport, the local doughnut van is doing a roaring trade.
00:17There's a lot of new people in town this year, you can tell that by the boat ramp, the different
00:21types of boats that are here and different types of people that come to the van as well.
00:25Up at the golf club too, members have seen plenty of new faces around.
00:30My wife works in the supermarket and people have come through and said friends are looking
00:36to stay at their houses, whereas previously they would go to the York Peninsula or that
00:41way.
00:42SA's South East has so far steered clear of the algal bloom, impacting other parts of
00:47the state.
00:48For some visitors, it's been a case of watching and waiting.
00:52We booked a long time ago, so we've been watching the news to see where the bloom was.
00:56Work out a way where you can still enjoy South Australia as well, without going up towards

01:05Others are less concerned.
01:06I just love this place, I've come here in the winter as well, it's just a beautiful spot.
