00:00How about this? Duke and Louisville tonight.
00:02Tying it up in college basketball at Louisville tonight.
00:05ACC battle. The line opened up, depending where you're shopping at,
00:07minus one and a half or so for Louisville.
00:09That's now flipped over to Duke as a one and a half point favorite.
00:12Duke with a lot of ticket counts, 75% here.
00:15How do we see this game shaping up and what's your spread line?
00:17Duke-Louisville tonight.
00:19Well, these are the two of the best in the ACC, Donnie,
00:22that we are going to get to see battling here.
00:25It's interesting. I get the Duke money coming in to flip it,
00:29but on the road is going to be very interesting in conference play.
00:33I think there's Louisville money coming back.
00:36If you can get plus money now, grab it,
00:39because I'm not sure Duke's going to go off as the favorite here tonight.
00:42Duke had one loss this season, 82-81 on a neutral court to Texas Tech.
00:46We take a look at Louisville, Joe.
00:47They have three losses on the year.
00:49Arkansas, Tennessee, and Stanford elevated competition,
00:52and their most recent loss was on Friday, January 2nd,
00:54to Stanford by four points on the road.
00:57College basketball, baby!
00:59I don't know.
01:01Big, big matchup in the ACC.
01:03I will say this really quick.
01:04I will talk about it on my scouting report later.
01:06But I do like Duke in the matchup dispute.
01:09Good matchup teams evenly match offensively and defensively,
01:12according to metrics of Ken Palm.
01:14But where you get the difference with Duke is Duke has played five teams
01:18in the top 50 to Ken Palm.
01:19Louisville has played two.
01:21Two of them have played so far.
01:22have been Indiana, who I think is overrated, and same with Kentucky.
01:28Battle-tested.
01:29It's a money line pick.
01:31Go ahead and take Duke tonight.
01:33Right back out of here on the early line,
01:34talking a little college basketball action as we go.
01:38And by the way, just had the coach talking there.
01:39A little bit quick preview on Duke and Louisville tonight.
01:42We'll get to that in just a few moments.
01:43But this is the season that I start to like it now, Joe.
01:45You have it in January.
01:47Football's starting to wind down here.
01:48You can really focus midweek on some of these big-time games.
01:51And we have that now once we get into conference play.
01:54Yeah.
01:55It's the best time of year, Donny, because now it's all right.
01:58You got your non-conference stuff out of the way.
02:01Coaches have had an opportunity to shorten the rotations,
02:04figure out who's going to be playing what.
02:07Injuries have happened across the board to a bunch of top 25 teams.
02:13Can they weather the storm?
02:14But this is go time, right?
02:16This is the money time.
02:17What happens in conference play goes a long way
02:19to what's going to happen in March for sure.
02:23March, man, this round of 64 qualifiers to get in.
02:26We got a 99% chance on Marquette.
02:27By the way, they're not even offering you prices
02:29on some of the top teams in the country like the Duke Blue Devils here.
02:32But now's the time we start to take a look at those net rankings
02:35and your quad victories and big-time wins on the road in conference play.
02:39We're almost at that time because before you know it,
02:42we'll be in the month of February.
02:43That means we're going to separate the men from the boys,
02:46and then we get the March Madness.
02:47And March Madness really starts at the end of February
02:50once we get to conference tournaments, Joe.
02:53Yeah, it really does.
02:54It'll be here before we know it, Donnie,
02:56which makes a lot of these games that we're seeing now,
03:00these could very well be previews of what we're going to get
03:04in another month and a half, Donnie.
03:06And keep an eye on what's going on here.
03:09I mean, Duke, good.
03:11Nebraska won again last night on the road.
03:14Could they be the team to beat?
03:16So there's a lot can change in a very short period of time.
03:20But these matchups, these top 25 battles,
03:23like the one we're going to see here tonight,
03:25going to go a long way to seeing what's going to happen in another month.
03:28That's for sure.
03:30Let's take a couple quick looks here at some of the better games tonight.
03:32In the SEC, Georgia and Florida, 7 o'clock tip time.
03:35Opening number there, Joe, minus 7.5.
03:37As you'll see that graphic, but live right now on the show,
03:39minus 9.5 is a favorite towards Florida.
03:42169.5, 168.5 you see on that graphic.
03:44It's now up to 173.5.
03:46Both of these teams quick.
03:47By the way, Georgia, average length of possession,
03:49number two in the country.
03:50They want to get up and down the court.
03:51But Florida, elite on defense, Joe.
03:54What are you thinking about this game?
03:56Too many points for Florida or no?
03:57Well, I mean, it was interesting because the money that I've seen coming in
04:02has been on the total, which was below 170 to start, 168.5.
04:07Now it's 173.5.
04:10And when you have that kind of tempo, and you will,
04:14because Florida will have no problem running as well,
04:17but Florida will have also a lot of opportunities to dominate the boards
04:21in this game, second chance opportunities.
04:23Listen, Georgia loves to run and shoot, doesn't always go in.
04:28But the one thing we can probably figure here tonight,
04:31points are coming in this game, Donnie.
04:33First one, the 90 wins likely.
04:36By the way, two elite offenses in the Yum Center tonight.
04:39That's Duke and it's Louisville.
04:40Louisville opened up around a minus one and a half point favorite.
04:43You're now seeing it across the board.
04:44Duke has now rallied to the favorite with a lot of ticket count on their side.
04:47The total up slightly, 161.5 or so overnight.
04:50We're now seeing 162.5 in the marketplace.
04:53Duke elite on offense and efficiency in the top 10.
04:56You know who's even more elite?
04:57It's actually Louisville's offense at number four.
04:59Very good defenses.
05:00Duke gets the slight edge here.
05:02Two really good teams in a virtual toss-up.
05:04Duke-Louisville tonight in Louisville.
05:07Yeah, top 50 in three-point shooting percentage defensively.
05:11Duke as well.
05:12Teams are only shooting 30% from three.
05:14And you've got a Louisville team that attempts nearly 55% of its shots from three-point range.
05:21So this is going to be an interesting battle.
05:23But an injury concern for Louisville.
05:26Mikael Brown, who is their assist leader, he's their guard, he's their quarterback.
05:31It's kind of slowed this offense down here a little bit.
05:35The one thing I know for sure is Louisville, they are so good at home here.
05:41They're one of the best teams in the country at home.
05:43This is going to be an uphill battle for Duke tonight for sure.
05:47Got a good one also, Texas Tech and Houston.
05:49We talk about Texas Tech.
05:50As we know, Duke's only lost to the season a one-point loss to Texas Tech on a neutral court site.
05:55Texas Tech's going to be in Houston tonight.
05:57And the favorite is Houston at minus 6.5 in a total of 141.5.
06:02That's up from that graphic of 139.5.
06:04We know Houston is elite on defense.
06:06Top five in the country at turning over.
06:07Did you know 24% of the possessions you have against Houston ends up in a turnover?
06:12Elite defending the three-point line.
06:14Elite inside the arc.
06:15They don't foul all that much.
06:17But here's the key indicator tonight.
06:18Can that defense certainly turn it on enough to maybe stay under the total?
06:22Or does Texas Tech stay in that number tonight, Joe?
06:25Yeah.
06:26Well, listen.
06:26One thing I know is that if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
06:29And Houston in the first half at home is an absolute ATM machine.
06:34They're laying three, three and a half.
06:37I like them to have the lead and cover that number going into the second half.
06:43Texas Tech more than capable of winning this game, though.
06:47And by the way, Houston, top five at turning over.
06:49As we said, Texas Tech doesn't really turn the basketball over.
06:51So maybe they can fight some of those turnovers, get some easier buckets here.
06:55More action coming up next.
06:56Joe picked up a nice winner yesterday in FCS action.
07:08Where do we head today?
07:08Is it the NBA?
07:09Is it the ice?
07:10Where are we going?
07:11We're going to go to Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Iva Gallagher Arena here.
07:17And it pains me, but I have got to look to fade my Oklahoma State Cowboys
07:22taking on UCF here tonight.
07:25I don't understand the love here and the steam that we're seeing.
07:29Oklahoma State opened up a one, one and a half point home favorite.
07:32Now, they've actually been very good at Stillwater.
07:35They've won 10 straight.
07:37But they can't beat anybody who's a top 25 team.
07:41You just watched Texas Tech drop 102 points.
07:44They don't play enough defense.
07:46And I think UCF top 25 team is more than capable of keeping this thing close.
07:52I'm taking the four and a half here, Donnie.
